Is VICE really the PRO V1 killer you’ve been told?

- How do you know which is the best golf ball for your game?
No matter what you score in a round of golf, the golf ball is the only consistent factor. So, whatever your budget, brand or ball preferences, you need to play the best ball possible in order to shoot lower scores.
I found this awesome tool on the Titleist website that gives you the perfect way of deciding on the right golf ball for you: shorturl.at/CDPT0 (no matter the brand).
I hope it helps you!

The Vice pro is my favorite ball of all time. The distance and feel for me can’t be beat. Love them.
Great to know what you like. Enjoy and play well!
I love the Bridgestone e12. Drives long, feels springy, soft with great feel and spins like a battling top on the green. I buy them bulk 100 at a time for $4.00AUD each. $36.00 per doz. Outperforms Titleist balls every time for me.
Awesome to hear. Not really used Bridgestone much but hear good things. Where do you buy from?
I just look on line and see who has a deal for bulk balls. I buy AAA grade hit once with no blemishes. I also spin them with a high speed spinner so I can make their balance line. Works for me. Cheers.@@JonPerkinsGolf
Great video! New subscriber here. Could this start a series on golf ball comparison? Take the winner here and test it against all sorts of other balls! I would watch all of those videos repeatedly.
Keep up the good work!
Welcome and thanks for the great idea!!
Just unwrapped my takomo 101t 😊
Hope you love them!
You're not a professional golfer and as such, your strike isn't going to be consistent. Basing a golf ball off of one shot is never going to yield data that is reliable. I would much prefer that you would have hit many shots to identify the best ball, but this is an honest on course assessment which is pretty good too. You found the ball you like the most, but I'm not sure if it's the ball I would like the most.
Totally. I think pro or not, there is always going to be an amount of personal preference in anyone's decision. I liked this format of test more than anything. Though it did help me confirm my own choice. Cheers, Jon
The problem with a test like this is that the sample size is small, plus that each swing is a bit different. The good thing you can take away from this type of test is not the shot results, but rather your personal "feel" from each ball. If you want larger samples, mygolfspy does a ball test where they hit thousands of balls with a machine, so that each swing is the same. That test tells you exactly the opposite information, how the balls respond in terms of distance, spin, launch angle, etc, but nothing about the "feel".
FWIW, I'm playing VICE Pro balls, but I like Pro V1 as well. I dislike the V1X, though because it's too hard, and the same is true of the VICE PRO Plus.
Totally agree. I've played Vice for a couple of years so have a good idea how they feel, this was more a test for my own sense of performance. Certainly would agree that MGS do a great job collecting the data!
I chose the vice pro as my ball. i would also play a pro v1 (i did until recently) , a chrome soft and a tp5, in a heartbeat. but i paid only 170€ for 6 dozens. and sub 2,50€ for THIS ball is a steal.
For that price you can get a wilson duo soft. And that is not a good ball by any stretch.
@@asdfjkl981 Yeah can't argue with the value!!
The other problem with this test is who has the ability to access a golf hole and sit out there and hit balls like you're on the range?
If you hit it low, the Vice Pro is hard to beat. It runs like a jackrabbit on the ground.
Good feedback, thanks!
I think the prov1 is the best all around ball out there. It's not the longest but can keep up. It doesn't spin the highest but spins just enough to keep it on the green and check up. It's the ball everything else is compared to. It's been the benchmark since it's debut for good reason.
Yep, seems fair!
I’ve played Vice for a season or so but switched back to ProV variants (Game the left dash). Found the ProV’s are more durable and never liked the obvious seam on the Vice balls.
Yeah, I like the Vice, just seeing more consistency in spin around the green on the Pro V1.
@@JonPerkinsGolf I think with ProV1 and variants they are just a more consistent ball all round. Which is supported by things like MGS independent Ball lab testing. 👍🏼

So I have a chance to buy 2013,2015,2017 new in box for around 30$ a dozen do think it’s worth it would I notice much of a difference. Thx
I have seen numerous people commenting how the newest model has a noticeably more durable cover fwiw
We all need more course vids
Glad you like them, I enjoy filming and making them! The course videos seem to get a little less interest from people - if you've any feedback on how I can keep making them better and better, I'm very open to it!
Vice pro plus is my gamer. I would only give the upper hand to pro v1 on feel off my putter.
Great that you've settled on what works best for you!
Not sure whether I missed a video, but have you officially switched to the Takomo’s?
Not set in stone, I just want to give them a solid test as I'm liking them so far... Have you played them?
@@JonPerkinsGolf I have not. I just picked up a set of i230’s but still very curious about Takomo. Thinking about getting a set to compare
@@nobodyimportant76467 as yet I can't fault them. For value I suspect they're as good as you could hope for.
I had i525’s and made the jump to takomo
@@JonPerkinsGolf How easy is it to hit that 4 iron? If anything would hold me back that’d be it
Is this at Woolooware GC?
Good spot!
@@JonPerkinsGolf Agreed! Played there weekly during the lockdowns.
I find the Vice Pro flies with less spin but rolls much farther.
Whatever works for you I say! Thanks for watching
Need a more consistent golfer to compare golf balls.
Would have liked to see a maxfli instead of the x
Could be a future video. I've not tried a Maxfli for years!
