Kikifoodies! I love all your recipes. Will be trying this one soon. Love from a Guyanese/Jamaican American 😭. You help me keep my Nigerian husband calm. God bless you 🤣
I loooooove ogbonno soup and as far as I’m concerned my mums ogbonno soup is the best in the world😁. Unfortunately my mama passed away and I try albeit successfully at replicating her style of ogbonno😌 What I want to know though is what does mixing the ground ogbonno with hot oil prior to adding to the soup base actually do? Quite a number of recipes on social media use this method but never quite say why or what it does.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Ogbono after it’s ground can usually clump up together. The hot palm oil is mostly to help dissolve ogbono before adding it to the soup.
Hi Kiki i am from South Africa but yoh your cooking is so yummy,my son was eating eba at his friends house, they from Malawi and he wants me to make it,so please can you show me how please 🙏♥️thx
Once my African friend (who moved back to Africa sadly for me) used a very delicious ingredient for this soup. Looked like dried black piece of a tree or bush. Reminds me of nutmeg a little bit. She is an Igbo girl. Does anybody knows what is the name of this ingredient please? We lost contact about a year ago and I cannot remember if it’s name.
This definitely looks nice, but I think the texture if the soup woukd be my downfall ,due to it being so thick and gloopy, is the ground seed the reason it goes like this
@owaji-oniroadango3668 it's not abt protein it's abt the taste outcome and no thank u I'm never eating Nigerian food ever even if it is the last food on earth left
@@Carfan411 exactly if the taste outcome bothers you, use the meat you like and make yours as you desire, without the fish. There’s no one way to make food but Nigerians usually like the variety in their soups specifically. But yeah whatever you say.
Am a jamaican 🇯🇲 but i will try it out i ave already made egusi soup, jollof rice by u,banga soup 3 times already
Wow that's nice
Well done. Hope you enjoyed it?

@@Kikifoodies oh right, thank you ☺️
Please if you don't have uziza leaves what other vegetable can I use to prepare my Ogbono soup
I've never tried this. I watched all the ingredients but what is making the soup look gooey or cheesy??
The ogbono seed
How about I add bitter leafs
I love mine with pounded yam😋 Good work👏
Great
❤
Pls what's uziza leaf in Yoruba?
What's ogbono powder in English kindly, am from Kenya and would like to try this recipe

If I’m not mistaken it might be Okpei but look it up just to be sure
It has many names: Okpei, ogiri, iru, dawadawa... The English name is locust beans
@@evelynogundare8836 thank you so much! It is the name! ♥️🫶
@@avanz2885 Thank you too! It is so nice of you helping now I can order some from Germany's African shops. Blessings to You ♥️🫶
@@goldsteinist Happy to help, enjoy😄
Where can I get ogbono powder or seeds to buy in Accra
Go to the people who sell spices in the market (Nima or Makola)
Just a question: what gives it that sticky consistency?
The ogbono seed that was blended
Can one also use ugwu leaf
Yeah
👍👍
Wow! This looks so good

🥰🥰🥰
Please why does my ogbono soup have bitter taste
Ive tried igusi and ogbono and i ddnt like it at all i jus dnt get y wud u put fish, beef and tripe all in one dish the fish overpowers the beef
😂😂😂😂😂😂
You can make yours with just one protein if you want 😅
@owaji-oniroadango3668 it's not abt protein it's abt the taste outcome and no thank u I'm never eating Nigerian food ever even if it is the last food on earth left
