    You KNOW you are a sick gear lunatic freak when first thing Monday morning you are looking for Andrew’s epic studio tours to get your weekly fix. I have had studios since I bought my first Teac A-2340S back in the 70’s and it still never gets old seeing other people’s studios.
    Keep em coming! 👍

    I am really new to trying to learn music production (Got a copy of FL Studio I barely know how to use and that's about it), and just looking at all this leads me to imagine it would take a persons entire lifetime just to LEARN how to use all the tech just in the studio alone. Absolutely amazing to see this amazing collection, so much stuff in all in one place.

    I’m never going to forget his idea for pedals. Now I want to have a patch bay on my desk specifically for pedals. Hook it up to some reamp switching thing. Then you can have them Velcroed onto some place or another. Then have the patch bay hook up to your normal patch bay to use in normal mixing as well. It’s a genius way to do all of those things in one place.

      The only way to live your dreams is to do it. You have to make a decision and go all in on it to make your dreams come true. However that's a scary thing for some people to do when we are taught all about financial responsibility and what we "should aspire" to. I once dated a girl whose dad told me music was not a career and that I needed a real goal. People like that are truly the lost ones.

    Digging through old archive videos and seeing this one surprised me to know that this is the place and guy that recorded Chris Stapleton. Knowing the success and being able to connect that to what the studio looks like and the way the studio engineer appears does help connect the pieces on what it takes to succeed in the music industry. This place was unique, very different all the way down to the guy, Vance, having his very first sm57 in the closet or the walk in repair room. There are not too many people that have a room for mods or repair in a studio, that's smart.

    • @HOLLASOUNDS

      It looks cool but most of that gear can and already has been replicated in Daws.

      @Franz Hausser Guitar pedals are a bit different as if your playing guitar it makes sence.

    • @KevboKev
      @KevboKev 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HOLLASOUNDS I agree. What people don't think about is that all that gear is a computer doing the work inside. Well, when you have computers that are as good as they are today, all it takes is a GUI to run the same "code" on your PC to do the same thing the actual hardware does. I LOVE where we are with VSTs and FX on PCs nowadays.

    • @massiveactionmedia
      @massiveactionmedia 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KevboKev you can make the sounds but you can't produce inspiration the same with a computer as you do with a physical object that has character and knobs for a musician to touch. It's like a keyboard player inputting guitar or a guitarist playing a guitar. It may be doable but it is not the same. This is a major issue in music today as people lose touch with the physical world. Music is no longer groundbreaking it is simply replication/duplication with digital cut and paste DAW's. I still love the sounds produced by tape they sound real and imperfect as they should.
