Seeing Connie, teared up, as he KNOWS what he has to do, broke me! Daz and Samuel calling Armin and Connie, traitors, reminded me of Reiner and Bertholdt in season 2, when they were the traitors! Once again Isayama shows there are no villains, good or bad.. only choices people make
Connie and Armin are traitors however.

This ost perfectly executed the feeling of the scene. There’s so much suffering in AoT. It’s enough to have to go against a friend and give up your land’s freedom to save humanity, but they also have to kill their friends along the way.
Well... They didn't HAVE to kill their friends. Samuel was disarmed and defenceless, he was begging for Connie to stop and got shot 3 times point blank in the face. Connie could have just told him to take off his gear and back off, but that wouldn't have been very dramatic now, would it.

Connie , Armin , Samuel and daz scene hit so hard with this sound track.....it has been a while since Aot made me tear up so badly.... but that scene, in the anime it was way heavier than I thought it would be...

I didn't cared about this scene back when I saw it in the manga mainly because I didn't remembered Daz or Samuel at all. But man, the anime did it so much better. I actually hits so hard

After rereading the manga multiple times and rewatching the anime...even minor characters becomes memorable....plus they adapted this episode perfectly...
@@scorehero7517 thats why i believe isayama to be the greatest among every other anime writers cause unlike other writers who just forget their old characters isayama not only remembered each and every character but also made them a part of the plot even when they were shown to us for the least amount of time throughout the anime

And Armin just sits there paralyzed because he realized both him and Connie are no different than Berthold and Reiner at this point.
Yeah. At first, I almost criticized Armin for not acting because then Connie had to bloody his hands for both of them. But then I realized I don't know what I would do in that situation, and it punches me in the gut. Maybe Daz would've changed his mind, and maybe Armin stopping like that was actually him trying to get Daz to do that. But they can't have known for certain, and they had to choose eventually. And Connie did, even though it broke him. Armin wasn't wrong to do what he did... and I honestly can't say Connie was, either. That's what's so sad about it. Once again, Isayama put us in a no-win situation to make us really consider how we humans treat each other.
@@ekdavis I remember someone also saying that armin being shot in the mouth lead to their deaths as he didnt get a chance to talk things out with them because this was the situation he wanted to avoid more than anything, despite him not being able to speak he wanted to do things without shedding blood so he stood there with stern but pleading look into Daz eyes hoping he could understand what he wanted without using words.
@@pathsgfx That's a great point. I could see that earnest plea he was trying to communicate in his eyes, but I didn't think about how badly he must've wanted to speak in that moment. If he could have, perhaps things would've been different.
I love how I can realize new angles on the intricate scenes of this show thanks to other people's thoughts!

Yo i used to think Naruto Shippuden was the best anime but Attack on Titan is just on a whole other level. The music, the story, the animation. the show shows the reality of the world
Well in my opinion Naruto is still has a better story but both send out similar massage... Every anime is different from one another so why compare it?

From Connie reminding Berthholdt of their promise of having drinks together in season 2 to Samuel reminding Connie of their promise of having meat together, AOT has changed a lot. It has messed us from inside. Truly a masterpiece.

Reiner & Annie’s entrance was awesome to see. That ending tho was def elevated & exceeded expectations compared to the manga. Crazy.
Armin now understood how Bert felt when he was called a traitor by his own comrades, all of them really don't deserve this suffering.

For that to happen reiner needs to behave like a man and not a coward he was till the end.
This episode again shows Aot's sense if duality, where the remaining scouts had to do the exact same thing Annie, Betherdolt, and Reiner had to do, kill one's that you are close to for duty and freedom.

原作より悲壮感がかなりあった理由の一つは絶対この曲の存在。サムエルの訴えかけるシーンとめっちゃ綺麗な音楽がマッチしててめっちゃ辛かった。ほんとに神話のような感じだった

Can we all take a moment to acknowledge the situation they are in? They betrayed their own kind to save everyone else. But what then? If they kill eren, they will be in the same situation they were in the start. The world will come to destroy them if they succeed. They are sacrificing so much just to press the restart button. It's such a pain to see them do so much for something that will most likely lead to there doom. History will repeat itself.

It'd be so much easier for the X-Men to join Magneto and kill all the humans, and in many stories, the humans create powerful enough Sentinels to destroy all mutants. Yet the X-Men stop Magneto from wiping out humans because it's not right to do so.
To be honest, I'm pretty sure the SC have accepted for the most part that the world is most likely gonna annihilate Paradis. There is no plan that exists without a mass slaughtering of innocent lives. But let's not pretend that the Jaegerists are angels either and that peace will come to Paradis with the rest of the world slaughtered. The Jaegerists are basically Nazis and killed anyone who didn't agree with them. There isn't a chance in hell they won't eventually do the same on the rest of the populace for another reason. The SC doesn't have any loyalty to the Paradis government now that it's been taken over by the Jaegerists who killed all their allies in the military. The population of Paradis is only a million, but there are probably many more Eldians outside the walls that will be killed. So really the only reason they should prioritize Paradis is because they happened to be born there.

I’ve been rewatching this scene and replaying Two-lives the whole day since this episode dropped. Mappa made this scene one of my favorite scene ever in AOT. Hiroyuki Sawano the goat is a goat for a reason. Hiro Shimono as Connie is so masterful. Can not wait for when he does “that” Zenitsu fight.

I heard a hint of of the older ost's and then I knew I was in for some major emotions during this episode. It felt so short because I was so focused on watching Connie and Armin, two of the noblest characters have to come to terms with the dark things they need to do in order to win.
Watching them break breaks me.
In the manga, the final scene the episode adapted had narration words above it. "The dream they once shared, had become a nightmare."
