I own both those vehicles. Model 3 2020 awd and model 3 2024 awd. Both are great cars. The new one is quiter and is more future proof with hw4. The premium feel of the new one cant be denied . The old one it still relevant and powerful small vehicle. If money is an issue go for the old one you will love it
I have a 5 1/2 year old 3LR and it still feels fresh and a better car than when new. Sure it has a few bits missing from the software but it's still miles better than anything else on the road
Love my 2018 M3P. As much as I'd love to get the new Performance, especially with the body modifications and the overall updated build, I'll just enjoy it vicariously through videos for now lol.
Interesting, I never considered doing that. I've had my 24 M3P for 6 weeks now. Just removed the aero covers and imo, it looks better. Also tint made a lot cleaner look. Dang this thing is quick. Took it to the track and ran a 0-60 of 2.97 and a 10.97 1/4 mile. 49k out the door with 1.99% finance.
Right now as a daily driver I don’t see a reason selling my “old” 2022 and getting a new one. I do like some of the updates. Is it possible to update the cameras on the older models?
Hi Ben, The powered trunk retrofit is only compatible with a 2019-2020 model 3, according to the Tesla App. Plus the price is $800, not $300. (actually you corrected that already in text). Tesla did label the retrofit improperly as a 2017-2020 trunk upgrade, but if you have a 2018 or older model 3, when you click on this option in the app, it warns you that it is not compatible with your vehicle.
I’m going today to look at 2023 performance with 15k miles. Asking $34k at dealership. I drove a performance yesterday for the first time at a Tesla show room and wow that car is stupid fast and looks sharp.
How are you liking it? I’m paying 34k out the door with taxes and all fees included for the 2022 with 36k miles on it. I’m picking it up Tuesday and wanted to know how you like it, I got the same spec lol
yeah i went from a 23 m3p to a 24 m3p, not that big of a difference imo. I think the >2021 m3p would be the ones to go for if you can't get the highland one
Love in 8:42 your muscle memory reflex looking for that stalk 😂 I have a 23’ M3LR with AB and have driven the performance, I feel I’m at 9/10 of the old performance. Even more with eibach springs and 19” dinan wheels. If I add the 1ft rollout like the performance models advertise, I’m at 3.5 0-60 and 11.7, 1/4mi. I feel like the old performance is 8-9/10 of the new performance. But for half the buck is worth it! You’re def not at 50% pf the new performance so it is a steal at 25k.
I do that with my words all of the time too lol it IS SO frustrating. I question my grandma's dementia sometimes lol or wonder if I should be smelling toast- burnt. XD jokes aside it's okay, it happens to the best of us. You did awesome
Gjeebs do you have a recommendation for tires on the new model 3 performance? I just got mine and it gets cold enough where I live for half the year that I need all seasons or winters. But I don’t want to kill my efficiency, noise level, or performance
New Model 3 performance is higher performance, so will likely be lower efficiency than an old Model 3 performance. Puts more of the energy into performance, less into efficiency.
Love the channel and humor as I’m hilarious myself… just ask me. I have the 2018 performance and I think it’s pathetic the new one doesn’t go any further on a charge. The new non performance are doing much better than older models but it pisses me off the new performance isn’t any better in efficiency. Come on Tesla it’s been 6+ years and your most expensive model 3P doesn’t go any further. “American McDonald’s eating pigs” 😂
Yea I'm with you but I think the new ones actually deliver on range where as the old ones don't even come close but I agree. I thought we would be further along
@@Gjeebs out of spec reviewed the new performance and got 268 miles full charge to zero when Tesla claims 303, although Edmunds got almost exactly EPA. The 2024 M3P wheels weigh about 23lbs* each, Unplugged Performance weighed the front and rear wheels at 22.7 and 23.4 lbs or something like that
Cool. Another bargain option= find appropriate m3 lr, with ingenext "ghost" upgrade you can have a more capable performance m3
