Wife just bought one today quicksilver model y performance for $46839 after all the discounts. $3999 down and $714 per month for 60 months with 0% interest.
Great video, thanks for sharing your experience. LOVE the color. My wife and I (along with our boys), test drove 2 MYs and one M3 this week at the Rockville location. I have been favoring the blue until last night when we saw a Quicksilver after driving the M3...such a nice color! LIke you we have a Subaru that I'll be selling, a 2016 WRX that's in great shape with low miles. Love that car, but I'm getting too old for the ride, lol. We are still deciding which way to go on color. Wishing you many happy years in your new M3!!!
White is very hard to keep clean. I detailed cars as a hobby and have cleaned a few white interiors. The jean transfer is hard to get off. I have also applied interior ceramic coating to the surfaces and it helps quite a bit.
Thanks for the kind wishes of safe travel! I wouldn't feel more safe in any other vehicle than a Tesla. Yes, love the Quicksilver color. Thanks for watching!
Congrats, but do you realize that polishing is not a fix for the scratch on new brand new vehicle? The number of imperfections for new vehicle i snot acceptable. I would not pick 3 years old vehicle with a single defect. I'm curious whether you had an option to reject the vehicle all together and obtain full refund in case you didn't want to accept the "fix" ?
Thanks for watching! They used a polish that actually took just a bit of the clear coat down. I've owned the Y for more than 4 months now and none of those imperfections are to be found. You are able to reject delivery if not satisfied but I was happy with what they did to remedy it. Otherwise I may have had to wait a few more weeks for another.
Thanks for watching! Yes I'm excited for the Juniper too, I just don't know exactly when it will be available and with what trims and the price/incentives.
What a beautiful color, inside and outside! Thank you so much for not getting the white interior as it seems that every TH-cam channel has the white interior. Maybe it is easier to film inside a nice and bright interior?
Thanks for watching! I have the black interior in my 2018 Model 3 so I'm partial to that color from many years of ownership. White interior does look really nice and I think it's fairly unique to Teslas so maybe that's why so many TH-camrs get the white.
@ My 2018 Model 3 is red with the black interior. I covered the piano black console in clear paint protection film, so it stays in brand new condition.
Thanks for watching! Great question! I wanted to take advantage of the free FSD transfer (Elon had said it was going to be the last time) and low interest rate loan as well as the tax credit. Not sure if all of these will be available for the Juniper Y right away. I may still upgrade to the Juniper at some point next year if I don't take a huge loss on this new Y.
Was considering this as well, but for my Y Long Range Dual purchased in November dealer stock I received an additional $4,000. That’s on top of the $7500 Fed, $2000 State, $500 referral credit, and 0% financing. Felt the offer was too good to pass. Also since I’m purchasing and not leasing I wanted to make sure I all the bugs and build issues were worked out . I never buy a car the first year of production. I felt this Generation Y by now would have least realizability issues. If I were leasing I’d go with the latest version.
Thanks for watching! I have the black interior in my Model 3 and really like the dark look inside the car. From what I hear, the white interior holds up well and is easy to clean though.
@@TeslaFamilyChannel Thank you for the response, much appreciated! I’m torn between choosing the black or white interior. My logical side tells me that the white interior looks more spacious, even though the car dimensions are the same. However, the black interior feels more practical since it hides dust and minor smudges better.
@@banerjeefamily1228 Thanks for watching! Yes, FSD is $8000 unless you are transferring from another car you own, like what I did, or you decide to subscribe to FSD. Also, you can save $1000 on a new 3/Y by ordering with a referral link.
Thanks for watching! Quicksilver changes depending on how much light is hitting it. Looks different on cloudy days than it does on sunny days but both are really sharp!
How do you find the comfort of the seats. I test drove a 2025 a few week ago and found them a little uncomfortable on the short drive, also, a little more drive noise than I was expecting. Any thoughts after driving your for a few days
Thanks for watching! I have these same seats in my 2018 Model 3 with over 80,000 miles so I am just used to them. They are way nicer and more comfortable than my wife's old Subaru seats. I don't have much else to compare to but really love the softness of the vegan leather. Ride noise is better than my 2018 Model 3 and I've only test drive the new highland 3 and Cybertruck once. Those seemed quieter so I imagine the upcoming Model Y refresh will also have some improvements all around.
Can someone explain if there has been a price increase of the base model y pricing. I show 44,990 as the price as apposed to the 34,000 in the video as of today, Dec 11,2024

Yeah, I would have loved 0% APR back when I bought in August but I'm still happy with 1.99%. I think my $399 monthly payment on the new Y is a homerun!
People just thinking it's normal to get things on credit. Can people not save up for anything these days or live within their means? I get that without new owners there would be no used market but I've never bought new and always bought 3 year old cars and paid cash. Your new car had a scratch and you accepted it? Madness.
Thanks for watching. I did save quite a bit, did you see how much I put down? You buy a home on credit right? A car is the second most expensive purchase behind a home. I would not recommend buying if interest rates were high but when interest rates were as low as they were, financing is a good route to get the best car in the world! Yes, minor clear coat scratch that was addressed and got to drive the car home that day. Scratches happen.
Thanks for watching! I have the homelink installed already, just need to edit and post the video. I have older style garage door openers so I don't think MyQ would work for me without upgrading the openers.
Did I look at something wrong? You were at 79% at the dealership and 30% when you hooked up the charger in your garage… 17 miles later? What the heck drained the battery that quickly? I’ve never owned an ev and have been looking at that exact model (and the performance).

Thanks for watching! Tesla Rockville gave all owners a free tire inflation kit due to a state of Maryland law that requires all new cars include a spare tire or tire repair kit. We got the older version that's not available on the Tesla website anymore. It's the Sensor model made by Fix & Go. Probably not the best but could work in a pinch. Tesla has the Air Compressor + Tire Repair Kit 3.0 on their website now.
hard to believe the dealer presented the car as "ready" when you quickly spotted defects, dirty places, etc. To me, that is unacceptable. I would have refused to take delivery
Thanks for watching! While surprising, these issues were relatively minor and I was going over the car with a fine-toothes comb. Glad they addressed everything I pointed out on the spot. The dirty delivery driver issues should be raised to the transport company. They were also delivering lots of cars so I figured I'd look past those as long as they were addressed.
Thanks for watching! I paid off my 6 year old Model 3 in early 2024 and then after a few months with no car payments, we added the new Model Y. Tesla offered 1.99% interest and we sold my wife's Subaru to put toward a large down payment. The monthly payment on the new Model Y is actually lower than it was when I was paying on my Model 3. I also didn't want to pass on the opportunity to transfer my full self-driving for free to the updated Hardware on the new Y. The $7500 point-of-sale tax credit is a big help too!
