I will be honest the random weather puglin is pretty but shallow and adds nothing. In level based games the weather should reflect the mood of what you doing otherwise its just a waste of development time. A sudden storm might look nice on its own but a storm that appears when you get to the "dragons lair" is something else.
Oh yeah I totally agree! This was just to show what is possible now. The real work now is getting the mood to where I want it to be. I also want to tie weather to specific regions and stuff what will be possible with this. Like mountain peeks are snowy, valleys are lush and dried out areas have sandstorms etc. Will try to tie the weather to locations and moods :) Thanks for the feedback, its always good to hear many opinions on stuff like this.
I was super surprised, it had little to no effect on performance. they are low poly so thats a thing. but still. and i can (and will) merge them together at some point, this also should increase performance.
fog particles: you can simply pass the ambient light color to them. I've done tricks like this for stuff..but in godot or unity, don't really use UE...until verse is released, then I might get into it more.(liked)
houdini or splines for cliffs... if you use splines I'm pretty sure you can get the surface information of the landscape and such... houdini is a drag so probably wanna go the spline route and hand adjust after the fact(?)
thanks for the ideas, yeah as @pimpatterson mentioned I also tried splines (forgot to say that in the video xD) and it kinda works but in the end I still had to readjust so much from the cliffs that is wasn't really a time saver. Don't really want to use houdini because I would have to learn another program for that xD Maybe at some point I'll stumble upon a good solution. If not meditative hand placing it is ^^
I love the look of the inventory, fits really well with the style and is just what I would be looking for in an ARPG. Crazy that it's been a year already!
If I have enough lore written down I want to make little lore videos as well. But have to see when that is and how I'll present them. But it really makes me happy that people are interested in the lore :)
This games art style is on another level, and the "cliffing" was def worth it, it looks amazing. I hope the pitching geos well 🙏 can't wait for another dev log :D

i love the weather in Valheim, and honestly i'm surprised how ONE plugin can give such a boost to the feel of your game.
Yeah I also love the weather effects in Valheim.

using the controller D-Pad to navigate inventory (move items ect) would be cool for people who dislike the cursor
yep, i think there will be some iterations with controller support, and ideally I want to have both in the game
