  • This video explains the concept behind Synchronizing of Alternators or often also termed #paralelling of Generators. It deals with the conditions required for Paralleling with some graphical representations for easy understanding. It also explains the consequences of mistakes.
    Why should you synchronize at 11 O Clock Position.

    The way you explained this critical topic, neither any manual, nor any other videos has shown like this, I really appreciate your deep thinking and the way of explaining by making out of box working diagrams. I think when you were working on ships, your juniors does't needed any books for clearing there exams, hope I had worked under you. Great Sir. Thanks.

    Dear sir I couldn't find even a single video or article on internet which is nearly good as yours. Your video brought the whole idea of synchronization in to my eyes. Literally no words to explain how good is your videos are. Please keep up the good work.😍😍😍😍😍😍

    Hello Ramesh, I would like to emphasize the importance of Your tutorial videos that help a lot to many engineers around the world. When N2 is started then its speed and the frequency of the EMF produced ( it is not connected to the grid yet) is higher than the ones of the running generator on load, thus the frequencies are different and we cannot synchronize N2 with the grid at random moment. The voltage of the grid and N2 are the same before the synchronization. Controlled by AVR-s of the generators.N2 frequency is higher thus we reduce it by the potentiometer on the MSB or synchronizing panel and once the frequencies of the grid and the incoming N2 match we close the circuit breaker. 11 clock closing moment is fully correct when the potentiometer arrow is rotating clockwise(towards 12 and not towards 10). If the frequency of the incoming alternator is low compared to the bus-bars or existing alternator then the rotation is in the anti-clockwise direction.If the frequency of the incoming alternator is more, then the rotation is in the clockwise direction.

      @@rmetcvideos I want to express my admiration with the person who shares a lot of one's knowledge. I am from Europe and I do not see so many initiatives here in Europe from the people willing to share any knowledge, especially in regarding with the maritime industry. I am very ddelighted by Indians showing so many efforts to spread the knowledge generally and in TH-cam in particular. I am looking forward to seeing many great videos of Yours in the time to come.

    Very nicely explained Sir. Engine room and related machinery is so vast that keeping short videos could compromise explanation.Your content is very well prepared,detailed but simple, keep posting such videos we really dont mind longer videos. Please cover more electrical topics since many seafafers lack awareness in electrical and controls

    Sir I've a doubt, when both the frequency and voltage of running and incoming generators are same then why we have to increase the frequency of incoming generator? Can't we get them in phase by waiting some time without increasing frequency of incoming generator? Please reply sir
    Thanks

  • @tanmay5492
    @tanmay5492 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    we are increasing the frequency a little bit in order to bring it in phase, but why the frequency remains constant as we close the acb, wont it still be little bit ahead of the bus bar ?
    can we do the same by reducing the frequency a little, I meant to bring it in phase ?

    • @rmetcvideos
      @rmetcvideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No..we say they are electrically Locked... Frequency is determined by RPM ..which again controls Voltage produced and two machines connected to the same BUs cannot have different voltages....Can you have pressures on two pipes joining at the same line different???
