Great video. I guess if the normal power is intermittent then one might get into trouble if the emergency power is shut off too soon. Then you would have to wait another 45 seconds for power.
Great video , I’m sure this will be taken down soon , because of the Balitmore incident. Wouldn’t want people to know the truth . I always thought they had back up systems on these ships .

Yes, it should come on load in 45 seconds, it gives enough time for your stby Gen to come on load if it's on auto, if it's not that's when emergency Gen will come on load.
Sir salamat sa mga videos mo. Marami din akong natutunan. I know iba talaga sa actual at by watching your videos only pero atleast may insight na ako if ever maka sampa na ako. Hindi ka naba nag interisland sir dati? Sa 1st ship mo?
Hi Mr. Lecky, Thanks for your all Videos Regarding Maintenance of Refrigeration, Mechanical & Electrical, thanks a lot for giving us nice knowledge of it. we can easily understand your English speech. i want know that in your video about "BLACK OUT AND EMERGENCY GENERATOR, THINGS YOU NEED TO DO " 4 Dec 2020 you told that the emergency Generator capacity 480KW. ok. i this in saw video, as per my knowledge, The Generator is CATERPILLAR make 3406 model and Capacity of this DG may be 320KVA to 380 KVA in 50Hz. may be Different in 60Hz (1800RPM) but saws model is 3406 (6 Cylinder in line) and as per your speech in Video 480 kw. Mean 3412 OR 600 KVA DG of CAT. Pls check it. Thanks. Chetan Jungi ( Porbandar - Gujarat - INDIA)
Very good video. But i still not understand: what actions should do when EDG is already running, and while this moment you was started the DG, is it posible to synchronize them? Or what should i do when the main generator is already working?
Yo bro good evening can you show us the vedio how you put load for testing the performance of Generators once it's done overhauling. Like they need to test performance load test so I need how u keep.load on generator 40%,or 50%,60%depends how service engineer asks so can u show us how to keep this load thanks a lot
Pls you didn't make mention of the panel we can switch from battery to hydraulic manually.. because I know the other panel to switch from the auto to the manual firstly is the bustie panel
If i understood your question that is not the case. If you start eme genset locally (manual start) and flip the esb switch to auto nothing will happen. But if you press test on esb you will actually do a short black out on essential consumers and you need at least to inform the bridge. That will happen because the bus tie breaker will open prior the gcb will close (interlock). You dont want a relatively small diesel engine to feed power back to MSB or to go parallel with other gensets that are actually connected to MSB at time when you do a test.
Can you make a video. For how to work emergency generator if incase blackout work in automatic(or test). and if it the main generator is back to normal. It is automatically turn off the emergency generator??? Hanep ang hirap kaya mag english hahahaha
If it had a backup generator, which by rule should come on automatically within 45 seconds, then why didn't they use the rudder to straighten the ship. 0:00 6 to 7 mile ph maybe lower as they had just dropped anchor. It would slow them down, generator should have been on by then so they could correct course. Or was it not working, Two engines not working is highly suspicious, Could be sabotage. Who wanted that bridge torn down, who could profit if a bridge needs rebuilding, Gotta ask with so many greedy people in the world, middle of the night, no one on bridge but a few inconsequential workers and police at both ends to stop traffic because of a few workers fixing potholes in many peoples view in elite world workers are inconsequential, how convenient.
When you mention about not doing an on-load test in coastal waters, does that mean that either during a switching operation or after a main switchboard power failure, everything on emergency power dies for 45 seconds, or is there some sort of battery backup for critical systems?
One there are usually so much traffic in coastal waters (due to many ships), therefore alot of maneuvering is required. Secondly, it is very unsafe. You see, during onload tests, some essential loads on the emergency generator switchboard are in manual operational modes. Now, imagine a case where during a heavy traffic in a coastal water were manual steering is mostly required and there is a blackout while an onload test is done. What will happen? Collision, grounding etc. Note that, a blackout in this context according to the PMS, is when other ship's redundant main generator(s) do not run/start automatically.
To give answer to the 2nd question; on emergency generator automatic mode, everything on the emergency generator runs automatically within 45seconds if a blackout occurs
There goes our money, All these friggin theives will be overbidding every part of rebuilding bridge with promises to give big donations back to who gives them the overpriced job, such corruption today.
I'm going to add that you guys don't try messing with this if your not experienced or have knowledge of what equipment your putting your hands on. There is serious voltage behind this that could kill you , destroy equipment ,and operation of the building . It also against Osha requirements without proper ppe gear on.
Keep going sir......
Ur explanation is simply awesome each words are so clear vry simple and vry powerful....
Please include more routine works.....!
Thank you for your wonderful comment
leckyjake salamat sa contribution mo saaming mga seafarers
Hello,make a video for boiler
Filipino guys are so cool!
Thanks for sharing sir. If possible, please try to do one on the shaft generator system working together with a synchronous condenser.
You are awesome!!!!
The best man on TH-cam who explains electrical enginere work on ship
The lesson is important, mechanical, eletro and controlling with generator.I interest the video sir
Great video. I guess if the normal power is intermittent then one might get into trouble if the emergency power is shut off too soon. Then you would have to wait another 45 seconds for power.
We highly appreciate your endeavors! Keep doing your useful videos!
ok vidio mo sir,sa sunod na vlog mo sana ay tungkol naman sa interview o ang mga tanong sa pag aply bilang generator technician hehehe
Thank you sa support
Great video , I’m sure this will be taken down soon , because of the Balitmore incident. Wouldn’t want people to know the truth . I always thought they had back up systems on these ships .
Awesome Senior thanks for sharing ur experience
Thank you for your support
Beautifully explained 👌🏻
Well explained about black out.... thank you..
Love u man
valuable information

45 seconds because according to Solas steering gear power to be restored .As I recall as well . May be mistaken 😛😉 Thanks good video
Yes, it should come on load in 45 seconds, it gives enough time for your stby Gen to come on load if it's on auto, if it's not that's when emergency Gen will come on load.
Very helpful please keep it up.
Very well explained..👍🏻👍🏻
Lecky sir you are outstanding.. please keep making these type of practical informative Videos..Namste 🙏
Nice video sir, but would you like to share vassel tour ?
Excellent 👍
Sory sir, I'm try adj.The AVR. Affer that, still unstable voltage & hz, of generator
Best video ☺️
Great explanation
Very good
Emergency steering test .please explain.
Good stuff, thanks for sharing!
thank you idol leckyjake..
super sir. thank you.
Hi sir,Make a video on boiler operations
You should make a patreon so we can support you even further! or drop some merch!!!!
Thanks sir keep safe 🙏 god BLESs 🙏

1st time I saw hydraulic crack, in my experience of previous vessels all use spring crank 😅
Hey, can you show us how to block the key pad on Carrier and on Dainkin please?
Very good video. But i still not understand: what actions should do when EDG is already running, and while this moment you was started the DG, is it posible to synchronize them? Or what should i do when the main generator is already working?
EDG nd DG can never synchronize. Once DG takes load, EDG will cut off
Thank you for sharing your videos
How do you restore back to normal conditions. Coming from your Emergency Switchboard to your Main Switchboard?
Good tockking to you sir.deep explain super sir
Thank you!
thank you for watching

How to make good knowledge in electrical?
How can I learn to repair container reefers???
Can you explain how many kW does each subsystem use ? 480kW for only critical loads sounds HUGE !
Thank for your sharing..
Thanks you

salamat from romania with love
Thank you
Thala always rocking star thala 🎉🎉🎉❤
Thank you
Very nice sir
Good morning sir from india
Thanks sir ji
I think we need a change of music lecky!
Why there is ebonite rod in MSB what is the porpose
After you start locally and switch to auto all the load connected to ESB have a supply from EG is it correct ? Then the bus tie open to MSB?

Sir yung on load test po ba ay yung icconect mu yung generator s load after imanual start like by battery or hydraulic? Thanks sir
❤❤❤❤

Hanep ang hirap kaya mag english hahahaha
To test Auto start and auto load in, just break the breaker supply to ESB from MSB..
Where is to test emergency gen routine? At sea or Port
Sir how much is your eye sight? As your wear spects is it possible to hold a job as an ETO?
👍

Don't you have belief in US law enforcement system

What voltage on MSB? 6,6 kV? Or 0,4 kV?
nice vlog your new follower remollo d vlogger
Hi Jake, how are you ? How can I contact with you ? Un email, linkind. Thanks
