    Great video. I guess if the normal power is intermittent then one might get into trouble if the emergency power is shut off too soon. Then you would have to wait another 45 seconds for power.

      Yes, it should come on load in 45 seconds, it gives enough time for your stby Gen to come on load if it's on auto, if it's not that's when emergency Gen will come on load.

    Hi Mr. Lecky, Thanks for your all Videos Regarding Maintenance of Refrigeration, Mechanical & Electrical, thanks a lot for giving us nice knowledge of it. we can easily understand your English speech. i want know that in your video about "BLACK OUT AND EMERGENCY GENERATOR, THINGS YOU NEED TO DO " 4 Dec 2020 you told that the emergency Generator capacity 480KW. ok. i this in saw video, as per my knowledge, The Generator is CATERPILLAR make 3406 model and Capacity of this DG may be 320KVA to 380 KVA in 50Hz. may be Different in 60Hz (1800RPM) but saws model is 3406 (6 Cylinder in line) and as per your speech in Video 480 kw. Mean 3412 OR 600 KVA DG of CAT. Pls check it.
    Thanks. Chetan Jungi ( Porbandar - Gujarat - INDIA)

    What voltage on MSB? 6,6 kV? Or 0,4 kV?

  • @joefajardojr3902
    @joefajardojr3902 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    After you start locally and switch to auto all the load connected to ESB have a supply from EG is it correct ? Then the bus tie open to MSB?

    • @milanljuba7563
      @milanljuba7563 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If i understood your question that is not the case. If you start eme genset locally (manual start) and flip the esb switch to auto nothing will happen. But if you press test on esb you will actually do a short black out on essential consumers and you need at least to inform the bridge. That will happen because the bus tie breaker will open prior the gcb will close (interlock). You dont want a relatively small diesel engine to feed power back to MSB or to go parallel with other gensets that are actually connected to MSB at time when you do a test.

    When you mention about not doing an on-load test in coastal waters, does that mean that either during a switching operation or after a main switchboard power failure, everything on emergency power dies for 45 seconds, or is there some sort of battery backup for critical systems?

    • @johnndukatasie9983
      @johnndukatasie9983 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One there are usually so much traffic in coastal waters (due to many ships), therefore alot of maneuvering is required. Secondly, it is very unsafe. You see, during onload tests, some essential loads on the emergency generator switchboard are in manual operational modes. Now, imagine a case where during a heavy traffic in a coastal water were manual steering is mostly required and there is a blackout while an onload test is done. What will happen? Collision, grounding etc. Note that, a blackout in this context according to the PMS, is when other ship's redundant main generator(s) do not run/start automatically.

    • @johnndukatasie9983
      @johnndukatasie9983 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To give answer to the 2nd question; on emergency generator automatic mode, everything on the emergency generator runs automatically within 45seconds if a blackout occurs

  • @kavenvincentperez8304
    @kavenvincentperez8304 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can you make a video. For how to work emergency generator if incase blackout work in automatic(or test). and if it the main generator is back to normal. It is automatically turn off the emergency generator???

    There goes our money, All these friggin theives will be overbidding every part of rebuilding bridge with promises to give big donations back to who gives them the overpriced job, such corruption today.

  • @hopeforthefuture8224
    @hopeforthefuture8224 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If it had a backup generator, which by rule should come on automatically within 45 seconds, then why didn't they use the rudder to straighten the ship. 0:00 6 to 7 mile ph maybe lower as they had just dropped anchor. It would slow them down, generator should have been on by then so they could correct course. Or was it not working, Two engines not working is highly suspicious, Could be sabotage. Who wanted that bridge torn down, who could profit if a bridge needs rebuilding, Gotta ask with so many greedy people in the world, middle of the night, no one on bridge but a few inconsequential workers and police at both ends to stop traffic because of a few workers fixing potholes in many peoples view in elite world workers are inconsequential, how convenient.

There is serious voltage behind this that could kill you , destroy equipment ,and operation of the building . It also against Osha requirements without proper ppe gear on.
