The £10,000 deposit seems a fair amount but it seems wrong for everyone not getting 5% of the votes to lose it. Everyone except the 3 main parties and the Greens lost their deposits. The Lib Dems and the Greens each got just 5.8%.
The whole point of the deposit is to discourage candidates who don't have any chance of success. If everybody gets their deposit back, there's no reason to have it.

I think the Count should consider starting a mainstream media outlet to serve the wider public and help spread his views on topical issues. The Tory right have their channel with segments featuring their politicians, so I would welcome a CB News channel to bring the discussion on the cost-of-croissant crisis to greater prominence and it could also broadcast Ceefax to the people. As for hosts on this new channel, the Count himself should feature of course, and I hear Sangita Myska could be available.
