Hi Sangita, your reflections is articulately elegant. It demonstrates your education and who you are; are exactly what we need in this country. Anna's irrational fear is embedded in a lack of self-knowledge. You stand to peacefully change vilifying ideologies like xenophobia, whereas Anna's hatred of people who do not look like her comes to the surface because she is envious of their achievements. She cannot accept that it is through sheer hard work that black people achieve their social or professional positions and not through passive emotional and irrational articulations of their fears.
Well-done Sangita! We need your contribution to change the world for the better!

I agree with Paul about these vile people feeling more confident of late. This is a direct consequence of policies, attitudes and right wing rhetoric of the last decade. As Sangita puts it so eloquently, we have to avoid turning against each other given that such horribly divisive and hateful attitudes are likely to harden and be more overt as the conditions we all are facing become commonplace over the coming months. History tels us that as times become more difficult scapegoats are sought and manufactured. We must speak out. Thanks to LBC, and British people like Sangita, we have a powerful platform and role models. Let’s never regret not standing up and using our voices.

The same thing has been going on over here in the United States since the founding really. And actually, there is no real race other than the human race. It's utterly pointless to hate someone because of their outward appearance and then to associate that with your own personal circumstance as if somehow you could pinpoint another for all the ills that diminished your life. It takes a collective effort by those who perpetuate this demagoguery and are rewarded by the special interest for pitting average folks against each other when commonsense reveals in minute detail the rewards for that demagoguery are only confined to those who can translate it into some gain at the expense of the spurious dupes who express them over the airwaves like the naive caller to the host intent to imply she's not really a subject of the British government or even an English person. The rest of humanity has to do something to curb the avarice of the elite lest they bring the entire planet to its knees for their callous ill regard for others' right to feel secure in their existence. We all are all the extended progeny of people who originated in some other place.

The publication of these reports was promised by Coffey’s predecessors, following claims that thousands of disabled people had died since the Conservatives came into power in 2010. The true number still isn’t known, but it was found that over 17,000 people died between 2013 and 2019 whilst waiting for decisions to be made over their benefit claims. I went to an assessment to renew my benefits, they decided I wasn't entitled to any rates. One of the reasons cited was because I opened a bottle lid (the flip cap) in front of the assessor. I appealed, lost, I went to tribunal and I was made to feel like I was lying and that I should just get on with my life from the DWP spokesperson. The doctor and judge were visibly shocked at what was being said. They awarded me low rate care and no mobility, the judge told me to reapply and with the further evidence I had id probably get better rates (they couldn't accept how bad I was because it was after the reassessment process had started a year before.
It scarred a young me so much, how i was treat I questioned whether I deserved it, whether the DWP was right. Fast forward to today, I haven't been able to work a single dya of my life. I have multiple surgeries every year because surgeons literally can not fix me. I finally got the courage to apply for pip during lockdown and I was instantly awarded high rate care and mobility. I'm not the only one I know who's had similar experiences with the underqualified assessors and broken welfare system.

They were so grateful that many cried when their meals were delivered. She has been in the local paper five times for her services in our home town.

There are so many people out there like i used to be who feel they're relatively smart and informed but they've been duped by certain sections of the media and those around them.
