  • Feeling dizzy whilst suffering with anxiety is one of the more disruptive symptoms and is often mentioned as being “the one symptom that I can’t get a handle on”.
    Feeling like your on a boat, feeling lightheaded, woozy and off balance. Anxiety and panic can produce these symptoms and sensations and here we'll talk about why.
    #dizziness #anxietydizzy #anxietydizziness
    Here we take an in-depth look at the sensations of dizziness, lightheadedness or feeling off balance, how anxiety can make these occur and how we can reduce the feelings.
    Of course, any kind of dizziness can be a sign of something more serious, but we’re not even going to go there, we’re assuming that you have been told by your GP that you are suffering with anxiety, and the dizziness that is associated with stress and anxiety is not dangerous!

    I would MUCH rather deal with a headache than dizziness, unsteadiness, and feeling off balance. That's the worst! I struggle with Anxiety and depression. I try so hard to function normally but the off balance is so unpredictable and random. I leave home fine but return with my head spinning and like I might fall. So often I just stay home 😔

    I find that my anxiety/depression has turned me into a hypochondriac. If I feel dizzy, I'm convinced I have some kind of terrible neurological problem. Chest pain? I'm clearly having a heart attack. Arm tingling/burning? Definitely MS. Been to the emergency room several times, EKGs and bloodwork all normal, which usually makes the symptoms go away for a few days (I'm assuming it's the slight peace of mind I get from the visit) but then they're back as strong as ever after a couple days.
    It's so damn tiring. I hate it. The only advice I can give to others like me...is TRY NOT TO GOOGLE YOUR SYMPTOMS. It'll only terrify you further. I just want to feel normal :(

    Oh gosh... I don’t feel dizzy as such like the world is spinning but just lightheaded like the blood is missing from my head 😅 for sure it’s anxiety cause I just had all the tests...
    things that have helped bring down the severity:
    💪🏼 meditation
    💪🏼 getting focused on something else e.g. a hobby, interest, job, upcoming plans
    💪🏼 accepting the symptom for what it is, not trying to fight it!
    💪🏼 drinking lots of water
    💪🏼 getting plenty of sun (sometimes it can be vitamin D deficiency)
    💪🏼 prioritizing sleep!!!
    Oh and never google your symptoms! Since I stopped doing that my anxiety went down by at least 60%.

    I usually come back to this video, specially the comments just so I feel less lonely. It’s been 2,5 years since I first felt this type of dizziness, probs related to anxiety as I’m an overall healthy person according to the doctors. Sometimes I get bad periods in my life when my dizziness and anxiety is really bad. I’m in a bad period like that right now. I wake up dizzy and go to bed dizzy, knowing that everyday is gonna be the same. Limited by my dizziness, and everything that I used to enjoy (like taking walks or working out) is no longer enjoyable. When I do go on a walk, I prefer going with someone...just Incase I would faint(I’ve never fainted in my life). I miss the old me, I always use to be so happy and kind and now I’m just miserable and grumpy. x

  • @RaiderO4

    If this started for you in late April (or around that time) when the seasons changed. I know it's going to sound stupid, but drink A LOT of water. Like 100 oz. of water for a day and then scale it back/up to at least 75% your weight in ounces and see if you don't start feeling better quickly (for me, 2 days I was noticeably feeling less dizzy). An easy test to tell if this is what's causing your dizziness is to start off by drinking an entire bottle of water right now and if you get the most amazing relief feeling in your head when you finish it, you're dehydrated (stupid right? but now you know) and if you drink 75%-80% of your weight in ounces for the next week and keep that up you should be ok (don't go overboard though, water-poisoning is a thing). This is what is currently happening with me and after 4 days of drinking A TON of water every day (yeah you're going to pee a lot) I feel so much better. Every once in a while a dizzy spell will hit me, but that used to occur what seemed like every minute (for months), now it's every couple of hours, my eyes can focus on things again, I'm starting to feel back to normal.
    Allergies are also a possibility. Food sensitivity tests could help narrow down foods which may be causing unnecessary anxiety in your body but if you can, I would recommend seeing an allergist first and see what they have to say about that.
    It's also possible that you have inner ear damage and your body can longer compensate for it's loss. In this case, you'll need to see an ENT (possibly a vertigo specialist) and have them test your inner ear. If this is the case, you'll need physical therapy to re-train your brain which can take months, but is treatable.
    And of course, Anxiety is a possibility. CBD is legal everywhere and has shown positive results for anxiety relief, I use green mountain cbd, it's good and cheap (some companies can get very pricy), you can learn more about cbd through reddit - cbd. Just know that if you want to go this route that full spectrum and NOT isolate has shown to be more beneficial for anxiety. Of course, If your anxiety is really bad you may need to be prescribed something like an anti-depressant by your doctor for when it gets really bad, like a full on attack bad. I've had little to no success with meditation and breathing exercises but my brother and mom swear by them, look into these or talk to a doctor, therapist or someone qualified about them if this is an appealing option to you.
    It's possible you're feeling anxiety and one of the above things can help greatly reduce/increase it. For example, water may help you but dehydration could also just be a trigger for your anxiety to throttle you. I'm not a doctor, I've just seen a lot of them about this and everyone of them will tell you dizziness is a complicated symptom of something else (unless it's an inner ear thing/vertigo issues, then that's the issue) and they don't really know how to treat it.
    EDIT UPDATE - ADDITIONAL POSSIBILITIES - Through more research I've also found out about these eye conditions called Heterophoria or Binocular Visual Dysfunction. If you notice that your eyes become unfocused constantly after blinking or just throughout the day (it may also feel as if your eyes are moving extremely quickly and then resetting) you may have this or some subset of this. This is an ocular problem where the alignment muscles in your eyes are to strained and cannot relax in order to heal properly or their is some disconnect between the alignment muscles of your eyes and your vestibular system causing dizziness. Typical symptoms include headache, head tilt, dizziness, lightheaded, motion sickness, poor depth perception, unsteadiness, losing your spot while reading constantly, anxiety and more. Feel free to lookup the disorders for additional symptoms and info but IT IS correctable through an eye care specialist and a physical therapy type treatment. This is also a condition that is often overlooked by medial professionals because the standard vision alignment tests are not sensitive enough to find these subtle misalignments. Most Optometrist don't have the equipment to test this. You'll probably need to see an Ophthalmologist or even a Nuero-Ophthalmalogist.
    The things I've listed above are starting points to help get started, I've been dealing with it for 3 months, it's awful, anything I can do to help you i will and if anyone knows something else to try, please add to this.

    I got my first panic attack back in July 2019. I got an injured on my left side on my rib. At first I thought I was getting a heart attack cause I couldn't breath and my left arm got a bit numb. I went to the ER, I had 150 blood pressure. Later that night during my stay, it went down to 110/72
    Ever since that incident, I got about 5 panic attacks and have been going through stress.
    I now have anxiety head pressure. My head feels like it's wrapped with a grip. My left side of my face is sometimes numb, on top of my head is sometimes numb. I feel like I am "disconnected " from reality sometimes. Even though I try my best to be in the present. There were times when I was very close to faint, thank God I didn't.
    I landed at the ER again, I got an MRI, cat scan, chest x ray, everything normal. The DR said I'm probably the healthiest person in the building.
    The nurses said I have anxiety disorder. I Couldn't agree more..
    The numbness on my head isn't always there. When I'm having a good day it's not even existant.
    When I'm stressed, the tension returns but then it goes away again since I know its nothing more than tension due to anxiety and worrying too much over nothing.
    What I found great relief for my anxiety is calm ambient music, going for 40 minute walks when is nice and bright outside or exercise (jogging or jump rope 20 minutes)
    Spend time with family. Eating healthy. Most importantly, getting enough sleep. (I aim for 8 hours)
    I take vitamin B12, and vitamin D3 500 IU. And omega 3.
    taking magnesium 2 hours before bedtime helps me sleep better.
    My diet is strictly plant based.
    My blood pressure is always around 115/70 pulse 67.(naturally)
    I do not take any medications.

      Wow you said exactly how I feel, I’ve been suffering with this since 2012 was my first every dizzy spell.. For me the vertigo and off balance came first .. I never had anxiety before that, I’ve seen Ent 3 neurologist, 2 balance therapist, lots of medications and nothing has taken away my dizziness. I often feel disconnected too like I’ll be in the restroom and work and it feels like I’m not in there then I freak out cuz I feel like I might be at my desk peeing myself lol it’s hard to explain the feeling. All test and labs and evaluations have been normal and they always come to a conclusion that is anxiety but it’s weird. I may be in denial. I lost definitely have anxiety now but I feel that I have all this anxiety because of the vertigo. I’m pending appt with my 4th neurologist he’s a balance specialist to see if he can help me fix my vertigo ..

It was scary I thought I was having a heart attack. It took a couple of weeks for me to go back to my normal self. So every now and then I get the anxiety feeling butterflies in stomach . But just last night at work I caught my second panic attack or anxiety attack this one wasn't as bad as the first one. But I still went to the emergency room. Just like when it first happened 5yrs ago. Because the symptom are similar to strokes. I don't know where this comes from. I wasn't stress or worried about anything. Don't know how I got stuck with anxiety

    Reading the comments feels like and/or looks like a really good AA meeting or group therapy session. With some omnious questiin being asked and all if sharing a story in answering the question.. Funny enough, the more I see I am not alone and that a lot of us are experiencing essentially the same things, it helps me become MORE aware of my own anxieties, and its like reading a diary, sometimes its silly to see these thinga written down. But it helps so much to see how crazy it feels inside and having a good look through others experiences and words, is already helping me heal a bit. This is a s/o to my YT Fam lol. We gonna be aight guys. KEEP SHARING ! Your actually helping others as well as yourself. I have had depression for over 40 years and dizziness is manager symptom of anxiety and depression. I also get blurred vision when depressed. It's terrible. But when the depression and anxiety is under control the dizziness will go away. That is a fact. Good luck to all the suffers out there. You will get better. I had the problem since 1978 when I was just 17 years old when I didn't know what was happening. I was so scared and alone. I had every test for my dizziness blurred vision and a doctor finally said I had anxiety and depression, I never got sad.. I get sick and dizzy, lightheaded blurred vision.

    • @SitesThatSuck
      @SitesThatSuck 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

But if you’re concerned, I’d talk to a doc and potentially get an MRI done just to rule anything scary out-that’s what I did and it helped me mentally accept that it was coming from panic disorder/health anxiety and stress.

      Hi Megan, sorry to hear you experienced your first panic attack. Let's hope it was a one off experience. Rest assured that you are never in any danger when panic strikes. The fear is real, but the danger is not.
      I hope the dizziness begins to subside for you too, it's quite normal to feel some residual sensations after panic. Try not to add more fear to these new feelings. They too will pass.

      Megan McIntosh oh man I know that feeling sorry you experienced that. I’ve been to the ER countless times thinking for sure I was having a heart attack or my lungs were collapsing each time the dr would send me home saying it’s a panic attack. Took me over a year to really accept that it is just anxiety and that anxiety can manifest in many physical symptoms. Just know that you will be ok. It will go away at some point and the sooner you realize that anxiety can’t actually hurt you the faster your panic attacks will subside 🙂

    For years I’ve had consistent dizziness and lightheadedness along with double vision and strain on my eyes. Disorientation. Name if I’ve got it. But I’ve took every test even a mri. And nothing. So I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. It sucks. Even when I know it’s anxiety it’s like my body and mind say no there’s something wrong with you. I’ve gotten kind of used to it. Some days it’s bad and some days good. But I assure you all it’s okay and you will get through it.

      Christopher Guentzel how do you describe your dizziness you experienced? I’m currently having something similar, started on Saturday I got a random feeling closest I can describe it to is when you get a sudden drop in blood pressure when you stand too quickly, then had a headache afterwards and it’s now like 4 days since and I still feel weird. Had like a heavy head feeling my eyes feel heavy and I’ve been very agitated. I feel slightly dizzy but not where stuff is spinning or anything, maybe off balance sort of feeling? I also suffer with anxiety (i get panic attacks) but this is making me wonder if it is something else. It’s never lasted this long

    It's psychological. Lay Off caffeine sometimes too much coffee or soda can make it worse. It's also bad for your nervous system. Drink more water, ginger or green tea.

    I once suffered with anxiety attacks, but I found out I was just really dehydrated, I didn't drink water. I started drinking at least 8 glasses of water and the anxiety went away...so simple right..but most people dont even like water. I know I didnt. Try it. But you must make it a habit and give it time to work. DRINK WATER EVERY DAY PEOPLE.

      Melissa Hill Same here, I never really like drinking water since it water doesn't have any flavor, I used to only drink soda, well basically anything with caffeine, I haven't drank anything with caffeine for two years now, I only drink water or freshly squeezed juice now, I still get panic attacks but they don't last as long as they used to.

      Melanie Blake Do you also get any neck, back, and shoulders ache, and pain? I whenever I'm about to get dizzy, I can feel the pain around my neck, and down my spine, I gently rub my neck, and down my spine it helps reduce the tension.

    • @melani4111
      @melani4111 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jonny Q no pain.....just dizzy and sometimes feeling hot or like im just about to tip over when walking

    • @JonnyQ408
      @JonnyQ408 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Melanie Blake I know the feeling sometimes I'll get ringing in the ears, and tension around my neck before I get dizzy, however a few hours ago I felt dizzy (like I was titling over) but I didn't have ringing in the ears etc which made me anxious.

    • @MN-re9oh
      @MN-re9oh 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Melanie Blake I get the same, a few years ago visited an orthopedic and he said the spine in the base of my skull was pressing on the nerves, restricting oxygen thus causing dizziness. It went away on its own at some point but now has returned with a vengeance. Tilting my head one way or the other sends me in a dizzy frenzy, which in turn triggers panic and so on... such a vicious cycle.
      How are you doing now?

      ucenic1 omg same ive been having random headaches, my stomache hurts I’m dizzy and I feel like I’m zoned out or like I’m trapped in my body at some times. But this stress could also be a result in me moving schools and having normal anxiety

    • @ucenic1
      @ucenic1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@terrortubbie3603 I had stomach issues, but I think it was my coffee pot. It sounds weird, but I think maybe it had mold deep in the crevasses or something. I realized that when I missed my coffee at home I felt better.

    You make some decent points cheers buddy!! I’m starting to control my anxiety a bit with daily cardio workouts drinking loads of water but I still get dizzy sometimes all day even when my breathings fine,,,I can understand people getting dizzy when there hyperventilating but why when your breathings fine like u said tho could be a number of things,,,the annoying thing is because it makes me anxious I then do actually bring on other anxiety symptoms like short of breath all the rest so I guess I just gotta learn that it’s not dangerous,press on regardless and try not to get anxious when this lightheaded feeling kicks in? Cheers man cool vid

    I've been experiencing this for about the last 10 months. I used to run and workout every day but have had to stop because it makes the dizziness much worse. I notice it mostly when I'm in supermarkets or busy places. Been to my doctor loads but still having symptoms.

      Same dude, especially at busy places, almost like agoraphobia, just feel like I’m on a boat and then the bullshit thoughts come in even tho I feel calm like I’m about to panic and then start planning exits in my head non stop and it makes it worse, I hate it
