Thank you for making this- stalled game when I got 2 aces and didn't know what to do when you split. I watched and drew next drew a queen for them making 2 black jacks and winning big.
if you're playing in a casino in most of the places dealers will give you some good advice. they know they have an edge over players, they wan't you to have a good time. most of the players will loose anyway..
Was at a casino today and split 4s against dealers 6 and the whole table including the dealer said basic strategy says NEVER split 4s. Lol So many people don't know basic strategy as well as they think they do. Anyway, I split em and won.
I could not disagree more on the splitting 10's philosophy. I do it all the time on the virtual games and it works out very well most of the time. I understand its a risk, but at the same time it is a great opportunity to double your win, while still having a very good chance of winning 1 hand still. To say under no circumstances you never split 10's that makes no sense when it does payoff as often as it does. To hit on 17 would be something you should never do......
@@gasperm3 I agree there is an easy argument especially when the dealer shows something trash like a 6. You're almost guaranteed to hit 20/21 and win one and a good chance to win both via bust or just hitting good cards. I've done it on the virtual game but never a live one lol
You played out the split wrongly. You should have dealt each of the 8s a second card resulting in 8 + 3 and 8 + 2. Playing the 8 + 3 the player could have got 21. i'e. 8 + 3 + 3 + 7 You now play the 8 + 2 hand
The dealer had to play to 17. So if he gets a 6, this means he is most likely to bust. 5 is also a bad card for the dealer. So it's best to split when dealer is likely to bust.
On my 2nd time playing blackjack I won about 2k and I remember always splitting my 10's with the dealer saying it was good move and I won big that night. The next time I split 10's I was losing on them. Guess I was just really lucky that night lol
Kayla B , it's not a push per say... In this case he means that that dealer won one hand and lost the other.. And when you split you can get multiple cards, unless you're splitting aces...house rule...You only get one one card when you double down. Ciao.
Mickey 2Shoes If and when you split tens your hand going to go from good to down toilet believe me I have learned from the experts. Where did you learn how to play blackjack
Well you play how you play then good sir. There are no rules at the table to force players to follow a specific way to play. Everyone is free to make their own decisions and if other players at the table don't like it they are free to get up and go find another table.
honestly if you're very good at counting cards, and the count is very very high, verses a bust card like a 6 (perfect situation) you actually SHOULD split your 10s. very very rare circumstance though.

Yeah but winning one hand and losing the other makes you go even, so instead of winning (which you would most likelly do staying on 20) you push and miss an opportunity to earn money. Sure, it depends on a situation, sometimes pays off but its mostly based on luck so i dont think its a good idea in general
@@CREVII Going even doesn't hurt you. Its the same as going for the green in 2 on a par 5. Even if you miss the green you still have a great chance of making par, but if you hit the green your guaranteed a birdie, and possibly an eagle. Same philosophy as splitting 10's, and Aces
@@scottlarrabee467 For any passerby, if you are consistently noticing higher counts this is a huge red flag - remember that the average count in a shoe at a casino should be 0 over a large sample size

I feel like splitting 10’s against a 6 is a good move. I understand that’s 20 is already good but with the dealer showing a 6 we are already counting on the dealer to bust.

EBOJFM DBOOJOH It only depends on whether or not the dealer checks for blackjack or whether or not surrender is allowed. If the dealer checks for blackjack and you cannot surrender, you should always split 8s. Just go look at a blackjack basic strategy chart.

Your are wrong, because you say the last one was a push, but the last one was an 18 and the dealer has 17 so the last player hasn't a push and wins! You are wrong!
Some casinos only peek for BJ on an Ace upcard and not 10, if that is the case then you should not split 8's against a dealer 10 because of the risk of him turning 21. You should also not double down on 11 vs dealers 10 for the same reason.
