I am a winning blackjack player and agree with his betting strategies. Winning and losing comes in streaks. Increasing your bet progressively when you are winning works well for me (over many years, multi-deck). Yes the house has a 1/2% edge but it also has a significant disadvantage. They can only win my limited stake when I lose, but when I am on a winning streak I can just keep winning from them. The key to winning at blackjack is learn the proper basic strategy and stick with it rigidly. How do casino's make big money if it is so easy to beat them? Because nine out of ten players do not adequately learn basic strategy and, of the remainder that do, very few do not change some of the plays to their own preferences because they "know better". Learn basic strategy, rigidly stick to it, use some king of progressive betting strategy as described here, and NEVER drink while playing.
I used to never drink in the casinos, until one time I was in Puerto Rico and some dude talked me into it. Me: Oh, I never drink when I gamble Dude: Really? Why not? M: Because I'll lose my focus D: But you play basic strategy, right? Yeah. Every single time? Yeah. So you're good. Have a drink! Couldn't fault his logic. LOL
I use a similar strategy. I start at the minimum and press up one unit on every win and back to minimum after a loss. For example, on a $25 table, start at $25, then $50, then $75, then $100 then after a loss, back to $25. The object is to lose small and catch a streak and win big.
I gamble depending on the table's minimum bets. I normally just go the $5-10 table and it works out pretty well. My strategy is simply I start with $100, I bet 5s until I hit $150, I then increase my minimum bet to $10, until I hit $200 which then I will increase my minimum bet to $15 if however I go from $150 to $100 I will move back to $5 bets and this goes on till I basically hit 5-10x my money or lose my initial $100, I don't go to the casino often, but I have 5x my money 2/3 times. . It's a slow way to win but it minimises risk. Also, card count royals, aces and 10 draws.

this is one of the best methods of betting. in a winning streak leave the original bet. with the winnings divide it in two. place a few on top of the previous bet and keep the rest. each time you win you increase you bet from the winnings. when you loose you go back to your minimum and flat bet till you win then placing your winnings to increase. always mind-full to take profit from each win when possible. is it an absolute winner all the time? NO . but it's the best one I've seen.

There is no right and wrong way to bet. Just don't use negative progressions (Like Martingale as he mentioned) if you want to play for more than a few minutes, because losing a few hands in a row could be the end of your bankroll. The house edge is always the same regardless of how the vary your bets. The only logical reason to vary your bets is if you are counting, otherwise flat betting whatever your comfortable bet is the wisest for the average/casual gamer (not to mention it will get you rated more accurately).
One thing in Blackjack, if you lose 4 hands in a row, leave the table. For whatever reason, which I have no clue why, bad table trends just don't seem to disappear after several hands.
I'm a blackjack player and have been to many casinos over the years and have watched other players play. I have found that most players bet the same amount, win or lose. Some players will increase or double their bet after a win. Barely anyone would double after a loss. Those that bet the same amount r casual players and will lose most of the time but if they win and decide to keep on playing will lose it all eventually. The progressive system can be useful if and only if the player has consistent winning streaks, which does not happen very often. Doubling down after a loss would be the best alternative, but one would need a substantial bankroll to play, which most people don't have.
I might try that betting method. I have ben betting the minimum and if I win following a 3 or more hand losing streak, I double my bet. I only double once though. I have come out ahead every time with the way I bet. Though apparently tipping the dealer has become rare because when I did it, the pit boss gave me $10 towards food.
I actually have tried all the ways he explained. I have won lots of money on Martin gayle system. I was playing it and didn't even know it lol. But in that system you have to play at high limit on table. Because you can lose your money fast. But if you can walk away from the table then that is a great system. Progressive betting I have only seen one player on a cruise play that. He walk away with 20k once but he had losing streak as well. Most important thing this video missed is to have fun. Once you start to play with emotions you end up losing and cussing at dealers and table, don't help either. Double deck and single deck is a little easier to see what cards are left in the deck. I'll be trying progressive betting in three weeks on a cruise. Hope it goes well. Most casino's give complimentary food, rides, overnight stays up to three to four nights. But they give it more to people who play $25 and over. $25 is considered high limit in most casino. Overall this is a good video.

Shawn is giving some great advice here. For almost 6 months now I have been using the practice play mode at Bovada and I was one of those flat betters he mentions. I would flat bet at $10 a hand, then 20, 50 and 100. Somrtimes it would work and I could be at $500 ahead but most of the time I would be lucky to break even from being in the hole. Then I tried Shawn's method of betting 10 and if you win bet 50 and keep betting 50 until you lose. I was only getting so so success with that no matter what the game was. Then I tried his preferred method of progressive betting and I am getting pretty good results with it. I've tried it for a few days now playing about 8 sessions. The first time I tried it was with the double deck blackjack and the dealer stans on soft 17. When U was up 200 things started to go downhill and it wasn't long before I was down to 400 (Bovada starts you off with 1,000). After that in later sessions I could easily play and be up 500 and so far the best I have done is be up by 2,700. Whenever I get to that point I start losing big time and if I lost more than 700 I would stop and be happy with the 1,000 profit. The only problem with the double deck bj is that the max bet is only 250 so once I got to that point I would just keep betting 250 until I lost then drop back down to 50. As far as the single deck bj goes I seem to have better results with the double deck for some reason. The single deck bj I would only try if you have a big bankroll to start say 1500-2000 because I've noticed the dealer getting wayyyy too many blackjacks and 20 and 21. I would stay away from the 21 blackjack for the same reasons. I'm going to start playing for real probably sometime late next week with Shawn's progressive system and I will report back then.
Single deck, a full table and playing third base gives you a huge advantage. Let's say the dealer is showing a 10 and there's a lot of tens the other players have got on hits, I am more prone to stay on something that you typically should hit on (the old notion that the dealer is hiding a 10, odds are not). Or for instance, in that same case, of I have an eleven and most of the 10s are out, I wouldn't double down at that point, just play my hand regular.

Nick you are one lucky guy if you only loose 3-5 hands in a row. I tried the martingale system just as an experiment and got wiped out two times in a row usually losing 7-9 hands in a row.
There are a few factors in betting systems. One plan I found that successfully combines these is the Magic matcher tactic (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the best resource i've heard of.Look at all the interesting info .
True, it doesn't, and admittedly that's the one major flaw with progression betting. I've had winning streaks where I've had a big bet out, had to split or double (or worse, both) and get wiped out in one hand. I've also had sessions where I've won such big hands and blew the game wide open. I prefer to call it a "method" over a "system". "Betting system" implies a scheme that works without fail, which this (or any other "system" being touted anywhere) is not.
Why would you never double. If your not prepared to gamble when you have a good hand then why are you in the casino in the first place. It's called gambling. Bring the money you can afford to lose and play aggressively. If you lose then so be it, but what's the point of being cautious. Your in a losing game in the first place. When I say aggressively I don't mean recklessly. This is completely different. You can bet aggressive without being reckless.

Your betting is wrong read playing blackjack as a business 2 pages on how to play your hands and why is worth the price of a book. Next you should cut your bet after getting a blackjack because odds of getting another one next hand go down. You should increase your bet when "5's" come out because there are more blackjacks in the next hand. If you see 4 "5's" pop in one round and the deck is not shuffled at the end of the round pop your bet to your max.

if your not counting its best to bet as low as possible because you'll lose a fixed percentage every hand regardless of bet. so minimize bets to minimize losing

I have seen a guy play progressive betting On 7deck shoot. Start off with $25 every time he won he put half his bet on the original $25 dollars. As soon as he lost he put his bet to $25. It works great if you can get up and walk away with winning or else you will eventually will lose it. But if you get three to four losing hand best to take 15 min break or move to another table.
The way I do it is the positive progression so I bet $100 as my flat bet and if I win I increase by $50 so it adds to $150 so every win I increase by $50 so even if I do lose I profit $50 unless I’m on a massive losing streak witch does happen and it’s very rage inducing and nothing is ever guaranteed but overall if you do that system you’ll walk with more than you started you just cannot get greedy once you feel your up good enough walk out it’s not worth having a great streak and then ruining it with greed

Just Me good way to lose money twice as fast. The casino has the edge NO MATTER WHAT.... unless you count. The. You may get a slight advantage even then you need to get lucky.
You are betting forwards, and that is good for you if you can keep the money on your side of the table. Betting backwards DOES work, and YES, it caries risk. Mathematically with basic strategy you are anticipated to win 4 out of 10 hands or 2 out of 5. Doubling over 6 hands in a row from losses is highly against the odds. The thing that needs to be payed attention to is the consistency of the number of hands playing. If that changes while betting backwards, THAT is when you are more likely to loose 7+ hands in a row. Always account for variable change. That is something that is often neglected and is in itself a HUGE mistake.
that progressive schedule actually costs you more than flat betting until you get into a streak of 5 or more wins. if you lose on the $75, $100, $150 or $200 bet you will have $25 less then what you would have if you just made Flat $50 bets the whole time.
I agree with him 80%. I bet 5/10/15. The reason I do not go above 15 is what happens when you have 7-7 verses dealer 6!!! You must split 7-7 verse 6! Now what happens if you get lucky and have 4 hands out there via splitting and doubling!!!!! Worst case scenario is I have 120 out there! Some times you will lose!!!! You do that when your bet is 100! Suddenly you 800 out there!!!! OUCH !!!!!!!!!!!! I also believe in eliminating the casino's unlimited bankroll against you. I have three piles. Bank/Working and take home. My Bank is the 200 I start with. 45 bucks into working pile! When I win a put anything above 45 dollars into my take home. Obviously my 45 or less turns into zero. Fine I pull from my bank utill I build up again over 45. Usually I leave the table up 25 to 50 on an average. If my bank is under 25 and my take home is over 200. I will leave after winning a double or my max bet. I nver understand how most players insist on losing everything before leaving!!!!
everytime I go to a casino I go just for fun. and i know before i play that I'm gonna lose it all. so i just keep betting until i lose it all and have maximum fun. instead of maximum win. so yeah, i think this is why other people bet until they have 0 too xD
I am going to try this.But i am going to start with 10 and work my way up.what i like about it is you make your money on winning streaks and for every winning streak you have the dealer will have winning streaks to But if i win lets say 7 in a row then lose i will be up $222 then if the dealer go on a streak and wins 7 i will only lose 70 My bets will be 10,10,15,22,33,44,88,176 and so on .I think in the long term and you set a limit of say $400 you quit. Or go home if you can get to $800 I will try this for the next month or so and let you know.Wish me Luck
it did not work but they were using a card shuffler that deal a new hand every time and the dealer puts in the number of players at the table every time so i think it was ridged. i will find a casino that shuffles by hand and we will see how that goes
PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU DISAGREE . This is my biggest pet peeve. When other players at the table get upset when you stay (when basic strategy says to hit), they have NO clue what they are talking about. There is NO advantage whatsoever when a player before or after you take a card or not. If you disagree, please reply with an explanation.
You are right. Especially if you are card counting, you can deviate from Basic Strategy. For instance if you have a 16 vs dealers 10. If you can surrender, this is the best play, if not basic strategy says to hit, but if you are counting and have a count greater then 0 you would stand.
+poochpoints not sure about this.... Wouldnt a high count indicated there are many 10's left in the shoe and would perportionally indicate that the dealer would have a 10 in the hole a higher percentage of the time than usual?
@Stefan Lebrasseur...Basic Blackjack strategy is built on the premise that the dealer has a 10 value hole card, so it is a mute point to make other assumptions based on count. The count will guide you in what cards are likely to follow, but the assumption that the dealer has a 10 value hole card remains the same with high and low counts.
I think the point of my post has been lost in the Basic Strategy debate. My point is that me drawing or not drawing a card does not (in any way) affect the other players at the table.
Basic strategy is for new players. The only people who get rich off the cards are the guys who created it. The card should be looked at as a suggestion but it's more important to look at the cards that are being drawn out, along with dealers card. Many times in a row dealer shows a bluff card. That is important to remember playing next couple of hands. But if the dealer did not bluff past couple of hands then basic rule should apply. It happened twice on one table by same player. This player was a small better $10 and the table was full. She was seated last. I put in 1500. 6 people drew cards some split the cards. About most of the cards came out were small cards so it's a good indicator that a high card will show. The dealer is showing 6 player had two 9's. Basic strategy says to split she did it. She got two tens. Since most players stayed on 13-17 dealer end. Table lost. Had she not used basic strategy we all would hve won since the dealer would bust.
At a TRUE +1 (HI-LO) your odds of winning are even with the house. Any count above that your odds of winning are higher than the casinos. Long story short mathematically you should increase your betting units by 1 per +1 TRUE count.
well it is true if you play balckjack perfectly, someone counting without knowing deviations and basic strategy will still lose in the long run. Even if your count is +1, you are not even with the house if you are thrash at blackjack.
if you bet on the blackjack don't flat bet (if you flat bet you lose), don't past post (late bet) (past posting will get you arrested), don't cap (capping will get you jailed), and no drag betting (drag betting will get you kicked).

the martingale system only works if you start out betting table minimum and increase by 1 dollar everytime u lose guarantee win but you must have at least a 300 dollar bankroll for playing blackjack
Yea I'd rather do the matingale because the more hands you lose the closer you are to winning vs every time you winning your getting closer to losing. I personally use matingale all the time and have won honestly 9 outta 10 times I mean MOST of the time I only lose 3-5 then win I play like 5, 5, 10, 20, 40, I've hardly ever had to bet over 40 I'm just speaking on my personal experience tho guys.
I have a question, what if there is a maximum bet? Say the most you can bet on a single hand is $100. Isn't there a certain point where you'll get screwed if you lose enough in a row?

That makes sense. Do they ever pick up on your betting and say something about it? It seems like the dealer would start recognizing what you are doing and then the casinos wouldn't like it. I haven't done much blackjack gambling so forgive my ignorance.
Adam Janssen It is *much* better to play blackjack using basic strategy than use the Martingale "system". The only times you should increase/decrease your bet is if you are counting cards. If you do not know how to count, then just bet the same amount each time, but *please* memorize the basic strategy card. It will help you lose MUCH less money.
Ilene Dover how do you figure when casino has always has an edge on you? If you flat bet your going to lose mire hands than you win no matter what!! At least doubling up you can win you money back. If you flat bet 100 hands Your going to lose over half of them same as doubling every bet by as soon as you your up plus if you get a bj split or double down your more up I'm not saying it works every time but most of the time it does. And the way I bet is 5 5 10 10 20 40 80 I've never lost more than 7 hands in row again it's not impossible but unlikely just saying. You can never get ahead flat betting unless you get lucky get up like $20-$50 and leave.
remember, 128 Ten value cards in an eight deck shoe! If anchor takes a card with the dealer showing five and it is one of those tens then flips over a ten and draws a six they have just lost for the entire table! There are four times as many tens in the shoe as any other card. Play smart out there.

Your paragraph insinuates that even if third base took a (poor) hit, which would have resulted in a dealer bust, that somehow affects the rest of the players. Anyone with knowledge of simple math knows this is not the case. Whatever the next card is after third base's hit is a random event. I would assume a dealer would know this, but I have been wrong on that before many times. Therefore, you are *wrong* in saying one can lose for the entire table.
Ilene Dover If you read my statement correctly, you will realize that I said if someone sitting anchor meaning last position takes a card when the dealer is showing a bust card such as a five that can result in the entire table losing. Let me put it simply for you, everyone has a mediocre hand and the dealer shows five if the last position or ANCHOR has a hand like 13 takes a card and its ten, he busts then dealer flips over the hole card and it's a 10 giving him 15 and requiring him to hit he takes a card and its a 6( I can't even remember how many times this happened just in my own experience) does the whole table not lose because the anchor hit with a bust card showing? This is why the anchor position is recommended for experienced players only. Going to bed now hope I cleared that up for you. Goodnight.

You just reexplained your whole comment, which I understood the first time! *(facepalm)* It does NOT matter if the *worst* BJ player is at 3rd base...or 1st base. It does not affect the other players. The dealer drawing on his 15 is a *random* pull. It could be a 6, could be a 10, could be a 2! No one knows what the next card is in the shoe. If 3rd base stands on his 15, do the odds change for the next card in the shoe to bust???
It's not a 50//50 chance, with the 0 and 00 (and in some casinos, a 000!) in play. In most American casinos, you'll lose your entire wager if you bet red or black and a green number comes up. The three closest bets to a coin flip you'll find in a casino are: 1) The 'double up' option in video poker, if it's offered on that particular game. While DU is a true even-chance proposition, you're required to play a hand of video poker first, which of course isn't. 2) Banker in baccarat. You'll win about 52% of the time, but the house will collect a 5% commission on the bet. 3) Player in baccarat. You'll win about 48% of the time, which is better than your chances on an even-money bet in roulette, but pay no commission. Your strategy would rank 4th...
Heck no. The house edge of Roulette is 1.35% to 5.26% and the house edge of blackjack is 0.7%. I would lose money at least twice as slowly on blackjack.

I dont think card counting is working, as croupier is not using this method. This is just inveted to peoples to think that they can learn hwo to play and make money
They dont need to use card counting because there advantage lies in the fact that they act after you have acted. So you could have already gone bust beforehand. That's why they are not using card counting. If the dealer acted before you and had the option to stand on any number then obviously you would have the advantage. For example if the dealer stood on 15 and you had 16 then obviously your just going to stand

Why would one not play again if they had already won earlier that day? Time has *NO* aspect on the house edge. That is like saying once you win one hand through the orbit in poker, that you should fold all your next hands within the orbit. Each hand is different.

This is the anti-Martingale system. I use this. However, I stop at 3 units when I'm on roll.
I gamble depending on the table's minimum bets. I normally just go the $5-10 table and it works out pretty well. My strategy is simply I start with $100, I bet 5s until I hit $150, I then increase my minimum bet to $10, until I hit $200 which then I will increase my minimum bet to $15 if however I go from $150 to $100 I will move back to $5 bets and this goes on till I basically hit 5-10x my money or lose my initial $100, I don't go to the casino often, but I have 5x my money 2/3 times. . It's a slow way to win but it minimises risk. Also, card count royals, aces and 10 draws.

this is one of the best methods of betting. in a winning streak leave the original bet. with the winnings divide it in two. place a few on top of the previous bet and keep the rest. each time you win you increase you bet from the winnings. when you loose you go back to your minimum and flat bet till you win then placing your winnings to increase. always mind-full to take profit from each win when possible. is it an absolute winner all the time? NO . but it's the best one I've seen.

There is no right and wrong way to bet. Just don't use negative progressions (Like Martingale as he mentioned) if you want to play for more than a few minutes, because losing a few hands in a row could be the end of your bankroll. The house edge is always the same regardless of how the vary your bets. The only logical reason to vary your bets is if you are counting, otherwise flat betting whatever your comfortable bet is the wisest for the average/casual gamer (not to mention it will get you rated more accurately).
One thing in Blackjack, if you lose 4 hands in a row, leave the table. For whatever reason, which I have no clue why, bad table trends just don't seem to disappear after several hands.
I'm a blackjack player and have been to many casinos over the years and have watched other players play. I have found that most players bet the same amount, win or lose. Some players will increase or double their bet after a win. Barely anyone would double after a loss. Those that bet the same amount r casual players and will lose most of the time but if they win and decide to keep on playing will lose it all eventually. The progressive system can be useful if and only if the player has consistent winning streaks, which does not happen very often. Doubling down after a loss would be the best alternative, but one would need a substantial bankroll to play, which most people don't have.

I might try that betting method. I have ben betting the minimum and if I win following a 3 or more hand losing streak, I double my bet. I only double once though. I have come out ahead every time with the way I bet. Though apparently tipping the dealer has become rare because when I did it, the pit boss gave me $10 towards food.
I actually have tried all the ways he explained. I have won lots of money on Martin gayle system. I was playing it and didn't even know it lol. But in that system you have to play at high limit on table. Because you can lose your money fast. But if you can walk away from the table then that is a great system. Progressive betting I have only seen one player on a cruise play that. He walk away with 20k once but he had losing streak as well. Most important thing this video missed is to have fun. Once you start to play with emotions you end up losing and cussing at dealers and table, don't help either.
Double deck and single deck is a little easier to see what cards are left in the deck. I'll be trying progressive betting in three weeks on a cruise. Hope it goes well. Most casino's give complimentary food, rides, overnight stays up to three to four nights. But they give it more to people who play $25 and over. $25 is considered high limit in most casino. Overall this is a good video.

Shawn is giving some great advice here. For almost 6 months now I have been using the practice play mode at Bovada and I was one of those flat betters he mentions. I would flat bet at $10 a hand, then 20, 50 and 100. Somrtimes it would work and I could be at $500 ahead but most of the time I would be lucky to break even from being in the hole. Then I tried Shawn's method of betting 10 and if you win bet 50 and keep betting 50 until you lose. I was only getting so so success with that no matter what the game was. Then I tried his preferred method of progressive betting and I am getting pretty good results with it. I've tried it for a few days now playing about 8 sessions. The first time I tried it was with the double deck blackjack and the dealer stans on soft 17. When U was up 200 things started to go downhill and it wasn't long before I was down to 400 (Bovada starts you off with 1,000). After that in later sessions I could easily play and be up 500 and so far the best I have done is be up by 2,700. Whenever I get to that point I start losing big time and if I lost more than 700 I would stop and be happy with the 1,000 profit. The only problem with the double deck bj is that the max bet is only 250 so once I got to that point I would just keep betting 250 until I lost then drop back down to 50. As far as the single deck bj goes I seem to have better results with the double deck for some reason. The single deck bj I would only try if you have a big bankroll to start say 1500-2000 because I've noticed the dealer getting wayyyy too many blackjacks and 20 and 21. I would stay away from the 21 blackjack for the same reasons. I'm going to start playing for real probably sometime late next week with Shawn's progressive system and I will report back then.
Single deck, a full table and playing third base gives you a huge advantage. Let's say the dealer is showing a 10 and there's a lot of tens the other players have got on hits, I am more prone to stay on something that you typically should hit on (the old notion that the dealer is hiding a 10, odds are not). Or for instance, in that same case, of I have an eleven and most of the 10s are out, I wouldn't double down at that point, just play my hand regular.

Nick you are one lucky guy if you only loose 3-5 hands in a row. I tried the martingale system just as an experiment and got wiped out two times in a row usually losing 7-9 hands in a row.
There are a few factors in betting systems. One plan I found that successfully combines these is the Magic matcher tactic (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the best resource i've heard of.Look at all the interesting info .

True, it doesn't, and admittedly that's the one major flaw with progression betting. I've had winning streaks where I've had a big bet out, had to split or double (or worse, both) and get wiped out in one hand. I've also had sessions where I've won such big hands and blew the game wide open.
I prefer to call it a "method" over a "system". "Betting system" implies a scheme that works without fail, which this (or any other "system" being touted anywhere) is not.

Why would you never double. If your not prepared to gamble when you have a good hand then why are you in the casino in the first place. It's called gambling. Bring the money you can afford to lose and play aggressively. If you lose then so be it, but what's the point of being cautious. Your in a losing game in the first place. When I say aggressively I don't mean recklessly. This is completely different. You can bet aggressive without being reckless.

Next you should cut your bet after getting a blackjack because odds of getting another one next hand go down. You should increase your bet when "5's" come out because there are more blackjacks in the next hand. If you see 4 "5's" pop in one round and the deck is not shuffled at the end of the round pop your bet to your max.

I have seen a guy play progressive betting On 7deck shoot. Start off with $25 every time he won he put half his bet on the original $25 dollars. As soon as he lost he put his bet to $25. It works great if you can get up and walk away with winning or else you will eventually will lose it. But if you get three to four losing hand best to take 15 min break or move to another table.
The way I do it is the positive progression so I bet $100 as my flat bet and if I win I increase by $50 so it adds to $150 so every win I increase by $50 so even if I do lose I profit $50 unless I’m on a massive losing streak witch does happen and it’s very rage inducing and nothing is ever guaranteed but overall if you do that system you’ll walk with more than you started you just cannot get greedy once you feel your up good enough walk out it’s not worth having a great streak and then ruining it with greed

You are betting forwards, and that is good for you if you can keep the money on your side of the table. Betting backwards DOES work, and YES, it caries risk. Mathematically with basic strategy you are anticipated to win 4 out of 10 hands or 2 out of 5. Doubling over 6 hands in a row from losses is highly against the odds. The thing that needs to be payed attention to is the consistency of the number of hands playing. If that changes while betting backwards, THAT is when you are more likely to loose 7+ hands in a row. Always account for variable change. That is something that is often neglected and is in itself a HUGE mistake.
that progressive schedule actually costs you more than flat betting until you get into a streak of 5 or more wins. if you lose on the $75, $100, $150 or $200 bet you will have $25 less then what you would have if you just made Flat $50 bets the whole time.
I agree with him 80%. I bet 5/10/15. The reason I do not go above 15 is what happens when you have 7-7 verses dealer 6!!! You must split 7-7 verse 6! Now what happens if you get lucky and have 4 hands out there via splitting and doubling!!!!! Worst case scenario is I have 120 out there! Some times you will lose!!!! I also believe in eliminating the casino's unlimited bankroll against you. I have three piles. Bank/Working and take home. My Bank is the 200 I start with. 45 bucks into working pile! When I win a put anything above 45 dollars into my take home. Obviously my 45 or less turns into zero. Fine I pull from my bank utill I build up again over 45. Usually I leave the table up 25 to 50 on an average. If my bank is under 25 and my take home is over 200. I will leave after winning a double or my max bet.

I am going to try this.But i am going to start with 10 and work my way up.what i like about it is you make your money on winning streaks and for every winning streak you have the dealer will have winning streaks to But if i win lets say 7 in a row then lose i will be up $222 then if the dealer go on a streak and wins 7 i will only lose 70 My bets will be 10,10,15,22,33,44,88,176 and so on .I think in the long term and you set a limit of say $400 you quit. it did not work but they were using a card shuffler that deal a new hand every time and the dealer puts in the number of players at the table every time so i think it was ridged. i will find a casino that shuffles by hand and we will see how that goes

When other players at the table get upset when you stay (when basic strategy says to hit), they have NO clue what they are talking about. There is NO advantage whatsoever when a player before or after you take a card or not. If you disagree, please reply with an explanation.
You are right. Especially if you are card counting, you can deviate from Basic Strategy. For instance if you have a 16 vs dealers 10. If you can surrender, this is the best play, if not basic strategy says to hit, but if you are counting and have a count greater then 0 you would stand.

@Stefan Lebrasseur...Basic Blackjack strategy is built on the premise that the dealer has a 10 value hole card, so it is a mute point to make other assumptions based on count. The count will guide you in what cards are likely to follow, but the assumption that the dealer has a 10 value hole card remains the same with high and low counts.
I think the point of my post has been lost in the Basic Strategy debate. My point is that me drawing or not drawing a card does not (in any way) affect the other players at the table.
Basic strategy is for new players.
The only people who get rich off the cards are the guys who created it. The card should be looked at as a suggestion but it's more important to look at the cards that are being drawn out, along with dealers card.
Many times in a row dealer shows a bluff card. That is important to remember playing next couple of hands. But if the dealer did not bluff past couple of hands then basic rule should apply. It happened twice on one table by same player. This player was a small better $10 and the table was full. She was seated last. I put in 1500. 6 people drew cards some split the cards. About most of the cards came out were small cards so it's a good indicator that a high card will show. The dealer is showing 6 player had two 9's. Basic strategy says to split she did it. She got two tens. Since most players stayed on 13-17 dealer end. Table lost. Had she not used basic strategy we all would hve won since the dealer would bust.
At a TRUE +1 (HI-LO) your odds of winning are even with the house. Any count above that your odds of winning are higher than the casinos. Long story short mathematically you should increase your betting units by 1 per +1 TRUE count.
well it is true if you play balckjack perfectly, someone counting without knowing deviations and basic strategy will still lose in the long run. Even if your count is +1, you are not even with the house if you are thrash at blackjack.

Yea I'd rather do the matingale because the more hands you lose the closer you are to winning vs every time you winning your getting closer to losing. I personally use matingale all the time and have won honestly 9 outta 10 times I mean MOST of the time I only lose 3-5 then win I play like 5, 5, 10, 20, 40, I've hardly ever had to bet over 40 I'm just speaking on my personal experience tho guys.

That makes sense. Do they ever pick up on your betting and say something about it? It seems like the dealer would start recognizing what you are doing and then the casinos wouldn't like it. I haven't done much blackjack gambling so forgive my ignorance.
Adam Janssen It is *much* better to play blackjack using basic strategy than use the Martingale "system". The only times you should increase/decrease your bet is if you are counting cards. If you do not know how to count, then just bet the same amount each time, but *please* memorize the basic strategy card. It will help you lose MUCH less money.
Ilene Dover how do you figure when casino has always has an edge on you? If you flat bet your going to lose mire hands than you win no matter what!! At least doubling up you can win you money back. remember, 128 Ten value cards in an eight deck shoe! If anchor takes a card with the dealer showing five and it is one of those tens then flips over a ten and draws a six they have just lost for the entire table! There are four times as many tens in the shoe as any other card. Play smart out there.

Your paragraph insinuates that even if third base took a (poor) hit, which would have resulted in a dealer bust, that somehow affects the rest of the players. Anyone with knowledge of simple math knows this is not the case.
Whatever the next card is after third base's hit is a random event. I would assume a dealer would know this, but I have been wrong on that before many times.
Therefore, you are *wrong* in saying one can lose for the entire table.
Ilene Dover If you read my statement correctly, you will realize that I said if someone sitting anchor meaning last position takes a card when the dealer is showing a bust card such as a five that can result in the entire table losing. Let me put it simply for you, everyone has a mediocre hand and the dealer shows five if the last position or ANCHOR has a hand like 13 takes a card and its ten, he busts then dealer flips over the hole card and it's a 10 giving him 15 and requiring him to hit he takes a card and its a 6( I can't even remember how many times this happened just in my own experience) does the whole table not lose because the anchor hit with a bust card showing? This is why the anchor position is recommended for experienced players only. Going to bed now hope I cleared that up for you. Goodnight.

It does NOT matter if the *worst* BJ player is at 3rd base...or 1st base. It does not affect the other players. The dealer drawing on his 15 is a *random* pull. It could be a 6, could be a 10, could be a 2! No one knows what the next card is in the shoe. If 3rd base stands on his 15, do the odds change for the next card in the shoe to bust???

I dont think card counting is working, as croupier is not using this method.

They dont need to use card counting because there advantage lies in the fact that they act after you have acted. So you could have already gone bust beforehand. That's why they are not using card counting. If the dealer acted before you and had the option to stand on any number then obviously you would have the advantage. For example if the dealer stood on 15 and you had 16 then obviously your just going to stand

1, 3, 7, 14, 28, etc. and leave for a +3 unit profit on the first win if that's the target. They don't just sit there and lowball minimum bets all day and wish for the best until they get to their goal.

Way to make something simple sound complicated.
It's called gambling, just have your money once on the table in a few seconds, if you win don't play again that day, if not then you re not lucky that day. Only poker makes sense to me
Why would one not play again if they had already won earlier that day? Time has *NO* aspect on the house edge. That is like saying once you win one hand through the orbit in poker, that you should fold all your next hands within the orbit. Each hand is different.
