Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all you farmers out there! Every since I've been following this channel (around the 10-20k subs, almost 2 years ago) I have learned some awesome stuff from you and other channels. Very grateful for the information you provided, the laughs and farm life drama, but also honestly looking to you all as an example. Man, I admit it with no pride to swallow, instead a pride to follow! Again, greatly appreciate you guys and all the great examples you have shown us! Stay safe out there fellers! ...and feller-ettes. I love seeing the interest in family farms that you're experiencing. I give presentations based on my book, Midwest Maize, and when I tell people that more than 90 percent of all corn is grown on family farms, there is always a big gasp. A few people aren't surprised, but most are stunned. It is astonishing how little people know about where food comes from.

Zack, Becky, and family. Thank you! I've enjoyed each moment of the couple of years which you have invited us into your world.
    .
Back in the 1980's, I had the fortune of picking up a book of drawings from a fellow in your region. Bob Artley was the editorial cartoonist for the Austin, MN newspaper. I was born in 1952, a true boomer. My parents were Kentucky sharecroppers who were the children of farmers. I grew up in a time when I can remember "admiring" the southend of a northbound mule. We were still cultivating and harvesting crops with the aid of true horsepower. As I grew from the Allis Chalmers WD and the powerful Ferguson 35 (before Massey) to the JD 4020, to the Case 1270, before I was forced from the farm by family causes, like Mr. Artley's generation before me, we saw American agriculture change before our eyes. I am saying all this with a sense of pride for you and your peers. So proud of you!! Thank you for not just sharing, but letting us live through your hard and long hours.

I've pulled my back in a similar manner, I couldn't turn around, I couldn't shift my weight, sitting was painful, walking was impossible. The saving grace was that my mother was a massage therapist and worked on my back for about 30 minutes. It did not heal me like a magic spell but it allowed me to be able to walk with only 1/5th of the pain from before. Which allowed me to dull the rest of the pain with Advil and continue working. I returned later to her so she could give my back a proper massage. She said my back had knots almost everywhere and the muscles were way harder than they should've been.
A good massage therapist usually has a rate between $60 and 100$ per hour. All you'll need is a couple 30-minute sessions of "deep tissue". It might hurt but it'll get your back in order.

Zach... depends if your back issues are structure via alignment or muscular. My issues tend to be both that drive the nerves crazy. I go for structure treatment 1st and then need to get muscles to stop pulling on structure with a massage. Since this is an annual reoccuring issue fixing the root of the problem will take a bit of time. Pills only mask root problems temporarily. I also use a TENS (muscle stimulation) device to loosen things up. I wear mine around work, car travel, and sometimes before bed, etc. Also, like all doctors... they are not the same. Just like Implement dealers. 😉 If you get in the Cities again I know a couple of great Chiropractors that are above the rest through time tested results.

Zach your back problem. I am an ag mechanic on a north east Montana farm & ranch. About 3 years ago I bought an Innova inversion table. When I came home I would go 45° for 20 minutes. You have to work up to the degrees & to the time. It keeps me out of the chiropractor office. It may not do a thing for grain dryer cleaning time. But every morning after using it, I feel better. If I come home late, do not use it, like seeding, I make sure I use it tomorrow!
Enjoy learning about corn farming. In 74 our FFA advisor drove us to National FFA Convention in Kansas City. Along the way we stopped at places and our advisor explained some corn harvest operations. I wish that we could have gone to a farm like yours.
I live 10 miles from the Canadian border, 110 miles from the North Dakota border. The farm that I work on is 20 miles south. Part of it was 2 of my great grandparents, part grandparents, part mom & dads, part 2 uncles. This area was opened up for home steading in 1915. They came out in spring & summer of 1916. The house & barn where I grew up were built in 1916. Mom & dad were both born in 1916. Mom 12 miles away. Thank you for the teaching & information videos.
