Currently studying to get my A+ certification and begin my journey into the IT career field. I was having difficulty teaching myself what I need for the test so I am so thankful to have found your page on TH-cam! I just wanted to say thank you ahead of time for uploading these videos and wanted to let you know that this is so easy to follow and I have new confidence in this because of you!
These are wonderfully arranged videos. I have my exams soon and wanted to find some vids to refresh my mind on the content without having to leaf through my boring old notes. Great way to revise! Thank you!
a digitizer is the graphics tablet (very thin) embedded on a device screen that allows one to covert physically drawn images into a computer suitable format. Think of a mobile device screen protector, but thinner and more advanced in the sense that, the front surface of the digitizer is designed to recognize fingerprints as a working method to operating your device and its features. Kinda similar to how a physical numerical button on your old Motorola flip phone is recognized by the device as a working method to input a phone number to make a call.
Prof. Messer - could you please add some info about the WiFi aux antenna function? I looked online, but I got even more confused... Some says that you can even swap black and white antennas and nothing happens... Thank you!
Wi-Fi works better when more than one antenna is used. This is called antenna diversity, and it's the reason you would want to connect both the main and aux antenna for best 802.11 performance.
I'm new at this and seeking to become familiarized with it,Do you have any tips for what I should take notes on and what I shouldn't..? It seems I'm taking more notes than watching the video.
My best advice would be to watch the videos and then buy his notes from his website. This allows you to give the video your full attention and have written study material that you can skim over 1-3x a day.
I think it all depends how you take in information. Some people it helps to write a lot of the content down to set it in your head but also to refer back to it later. Some people like my self, with a lot of stuff, can take note of something, but not fully have a complete understanding of it until I have been able to physically do it for my self. A lot of this current stuff that is simply fact based you can't actually really do anything physically, but when it comes to networking and understanding DNS, DHCP, IPv4 addresses (IPv6 still completely lose me) Subnets VLANS, LAN etc etc or anything related to Domains such as Active Directory, LDAP, Replication etc I found it good to try have my own setup at home. I have been lucky in the past when I started my IT career, although it was short lived, due to mental illness, I managed to gain a lot of experience and also had a tremendous amount of responsibility. Now I am slowly recovering from my fall back, and I have never had any IT Certifications and I thought to try a shot at Messer's video guides, to A: Help validate my knowledge I currently have and B:To potentially pickup on any knowledge I have missed.
@@professormesser I just started this journey an hour ago.. So because the exams are expiring in about a week: Does that mean gathering this information and studying it is useless because they're going to change what's on them?
the whole LCD backlight thing explains why when the cat bit the monitor in the one video, it made the entire screen go black instead of that one piece.
Is there a possibility of some sort of wifi interference happening when you replace a monitor with a new one? like your wifi signal being weaker with the new display vs the old one
I do have a question for you @Professor Messer, with regards to certifications I never know where to truly look. My question is, how long until this certification is resigned? I am also confused at what I should be focussed on studying. I do enjoy IT, I have had 5 Years of IT doing a wide variety of things from, setting up a PCI Compliant network in shops to managing major projects such as system migrations from Cloud to Inhouse. Day to day tasks and maintenance, group policies etc (Had a year break due to mental health) but I really want to become certified in Networking. Is it still advisable to at least study A+ and get certified for that and then go for Network+? and then Do I need any Microsoft or Cisco Qualifications?
CompTIA A+ is pretty much the essential starter certification in IT to get into mid-level jobs that pay like 40-50k. after that, you usually go onto networking and then security. the order of certification usually goes A+, Net+, Sec+
@Professor Messer - just a quick question How do i know if im learning the content - because im working my progress is slow to when i did itf+ which took me around a month and a half to pass. So what im wanting to know is how do i know that i have 100% learnt everything on the videos you have provided us! Thank you.
it helps to know as many as possible. i just passed my sec+ and the test was harder than expected. you really have to know everything in depth to correctly answer the majority of questions
@@sezdesigns5986 thanks for answering. After studying, you automatically go over each one anyways so no matter what you end up knowing it. The courses for professor are amazing
Has this helped anyone pass if so can someone let me know. Im taking my exam this Wednesday im really nervous so im just trying to find ways I can study and remember things easily rather than watch a video
@@rickyray2794 Which book did you read? I have Mike Meyers's 10th edition book but it is very confusing. 1001 topics and 1002 topics are mixed together. And it does not follow CompTIA's exam objectives. (For example Mobile Devices is on Chapter 24). Professor messer's videos and Mike Meyers's book does not match in terms of chapters and topics placement.

This is so incredibly helpful, thank you for doing this.
Thanks allot Professor Messer
Very educational
Perhaps im misunderstanding but what is the difference between a digitizer and a touchscreen?

Yes, the 220-1001 and 220-1002 exams retire on October 20, 2022.

There shouldn't be any difference in WiFi performance when replacing a laptop display.
