This was a great transformation. I love watching you and your style. I feel like I’m watching myself 15 or 20 years ago 😂. Don’t ever change your video style-you’re very real and honest, which is super refreshing. Thanks for the blood and sweat…RESPECT 💪🏼. 😂😂❤
Wow that was a lot of work and you taught me a lot!! I didn’t know you could rip all that veneer off and get down to the wood! Great job! It’s beautiful
Hint: You just sold this paint to a lot more people than you would at a trade show. You could set up a square space website and link it to paint you have for sale. Essentially, sponsoring yourself.
Don't ever sell yourself short 😊 you are an amazing young lady with her own personality and a lot of talent 👍😊 Thank you for sharing your beautiful projects ❤️
New viewer. I am so glad I found you! I have my Nan’s sideboard (post WWII England). It isn’t grand but the smell inside takes me right back to my Nan and Grandad. The veneer is falling off and you have given me such hope and inspiration. Thank you ! The transformation is gorgeous on this piece. 😊
You are amazing !!! I’ve been watching Thomas Antiques and Restoration for years. Sooo great to see a younger generation using wood and restoration skills!
I think I like the warm ash, but the before and after of this piece blew my mind! I'm so glad you saved this buffet so it can live another life! I could watch you refinish furniture all day!
Omg, I can't believe you took off the veneer. It was especially difficult to watch you throw away the part with the tape. I mean, seriously, I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight I'm going to be tossing and turning till the morning light! 😂❤ Beautiful work as always.
@@victorialawrence4782 No joke to me! I have two buffets with cracking, splitting veneer on each end. I will do whatever I have to do to preserve it rather than rip it off to bare no-grade looking particle board. I thought it was a terrible job, a short-cut rather than a restoration of a beautiful vintage piece!🥲
I like dark chocolate over milk chocolate. I think this preference extends to furniture. It is lovely and I admire and appreciate all the sheer hard work you have invested in this.
I had that exact piece, it was my husband’s grandmother’s (she would be 120+). I restored it (hard work) and later gave it to his sister but kept the hutch. Yours is beautiful
You definitely know what you are doing! Watching you remove the damaged veneer was SO SATISFYING! You saved this piece from the trash! It turned out AMAZING!!!!!!
Love watching your work. Although this piece turned out quite nice, the warm ash is far better imo. I wouldn't purchase this piece myself as it's finished, but likely would had it been colored the same as the hutch.
Your patience and good eye to color paid off. I think the Buffet Brown is absolutely beautiful. It has a very nice Sheen and a consistent color. I like the way you cleaned and preserved the original pulls on the doors.
What a beautiful piece! I’m so glad you saved it. This was one of your more entertaining videos - keep talking to yourself. 😂 I like this finish more than the previous, but I’m partial to brown. When you pulled off that vinyl covering - I cringed because the real crime was covering the original veneer with that! I think your idea of selling the paint to people who like the look but can’t afford the furniture is a good one. Great work as usual!
You did such a fantastic job!! I’m so glad you took the veneer off and gave this antique buffet new life!! It is truly beautiful! I love your channel!❤
All the labor and sweat is worth the final outcome ! I really enjoy watching make overs , especially women doing it . I have done make overs and it is a task , but oh, how rewarding it is ! You are an awesome worker 👏👏👏 ... Really enjoyed your video !!!
I love the chestnut color! Good call on changing the hardware color as well. I thought the monochromatic colors looked good but the gold made it pop a little more!
I love the buffet! It is so beautiful and of course you do such a great job with every thing. You crack me up though, talking to yourself is always fun! Keep refinishing furniture and filming it’s so much fun to watch and informative too.!
I like both colors. The brown has a more antique look. The ash is more of a today look. Both are beautiful. I love that you talk to yourself and think out loud. You are natural and refreshing. Don’t change. You stand out because you’re you. You did a beautiful job and your hard work deserves respect! 👍
I loved it when you said you just swallowed a bug! I have done that so many times. I love all your work. I just started and I have had so many problems with this solid pine dresser drawers. I replaced all the sliders and glides. Still wobbly. Put in the plastic pieces that are supposed to keep the drawers straight. Still a mess! I live right here in Jacksonville too. Learned a lot from your videos! ❤
The most fun part of the job seems to be painting the board. But please do not forget to wear the mask while painting the boards. I enjoy watching you very much.
Nice job Abby! Both look really good and you've brought each piece back to new life! You may want to revisit your magnetic door catch . . . and refer to the directions :)
I like both colors you used on the two pieces . The buffet does look stunning in the mocha/chestnut. Another great job! Hoping I can make it up from Gainesville for the Market in November
Beautifully done! You did a ton of work and can't believe the transformation. Love the brown and looks like it should. Didn't know removing the veneer it could still look so awesome.
Today is October 7th. I live in Port Charlotte Fl. It appears that Hurricane Milton will be on my doorstep Wednesday. Abbey, you're very calming. I thank you for your videos😊
Absolutely beautiful! You should get a great price for this restoration! I will be watching to see more of what you do because I have subscribed to your channel!!
Wow just amazing. I think both finishes are beautiful! I was more awe stricken with the warm ash and warm black. I think it’s super on trend right now. The brown is such a beautiful classic finish.
@@flippedbyabby Abby, Just want to let you know that their are red flags out their but their is also a lot of green ones as well. Just be you and follow your heart. Please know I'm not hitting on you, just want to encourage you as you sound down hearted.
I found a mcm vintage surfboard coffee table at the dump that had buckled water damage in the top surface- took it home and peeled the vaneer off with a wet towel and placing a hot iron on the top of it! Came off EASILY ! Not sure if you know if that technique, but worked for me. Beautiful colored poplar wood directly under! One of my favorite tables!
Warm Ash color look fantastik. I have to say it was really well done also in brown for sure! But I prefer a darker color for that kind of furniture. Bravo!
You are so talented. I don’t think you even need staging deco items. Your pieces look gorgeous by themselves. I would have liked paint on this item to bring out all the wood work details. You are an artisan.
As always, a very cozy and satisfying furniture flip❤. I really like how the milk paint still shows the wood grain, I’d love to try this product myself. So interesting that the wax made the inside veneer so pretty
First time watching you! I had to hang in there to see how this was gonna pan out because the veneer removal was a surprise. Part of me thought you would replace the veneer and when you didn’t I was worried about the result….but it turned out fantastic! I really want to try that paint and wax brand. Nice job, I’m really impressed. I also LOVED the black furniture piece that you showed. I’ll be back! ❤

The mocha looks great, but the warm ash is by far my favorite I love the way it brings out the character of the piece GREAT Job on both
Thank you!
That is beautiful what a wonderful job I like the brown

The first layer looks more like contact paper than veneer. I love the transformation and the staging. Also, I like this finish AND the black finish. 🙂

Beautiful piece of art. Surprisingly because I generally paint everything black, white or gray, I love the chestnut brown.
I'm starting to love that milk paint and wax look 😍😍😍😍
