One moment at the Pinkpop festival someone in the crowd threw an egg on her and it landed of course broken on her T-shirt. A little shocked for a split second she pulled off her shirt and there she was, performing in her bra like nothing happened. Great performer, great voice. Dutch heritage

Yes Anouk! She's amazing! I love her, it's such a tough woman and I love it that's she's not the typical girly girl. I love her power, her authicenty, her voice, her lyrics. And we could often see the childish reactions from the other jury members (on the talent shows) when Anouk gave an honest reply. So sad. Anouk is one of the few people that are adult and act adult as well.

Anouk the best rockchick in the Netherlands, writes all her songs herself, she got songs from ballets, to realy realy beautifull rocksongs, you just have to love her, great artist, with fair of live preformances , thats why when she preformance everbody want to be there she easy fills 50.000 in a stadion 1 week in row and still there are way to little tickets, here song nobody;s wife is realy specal rocksong

I’ve seen her perform live so many times and she’s a power house of an artist, writer, composer and she coaches other starting artists now too.
She’s not the girly girl and I love that. She takes no shit from no one and that’s rock chick right there but.. never looses feminine vulnerability in the process… that’s hardcore. She’s a rock goddess!!

Anouk is awesome, I think my favorite one of Anouk is For Bitter or Worse, there's a really good live version. It has so much feels, but really amazing trompet lines and orchestra that just blows you away.

I attended This concert with my wife and daughter. It’s in Arnhem. 34000 people enjoyed a fabulous Anouk. She Pavel the way for lots of good female dutch singers. One of our biggest female artiest in the Netherlands

So happy you found the music of Anouk. She is the most succesfull female singer in the netherlands. People here love or hate her. She is very outspoken. In the 90’s she was on her way to get a recorddeal in the states but she blew it by starting a fight with someone of Sony. So that was the end of her American career. She writes all her own music. You should really take a look at her younger work. She is really fierce, at one of her first festivals, Someone didnt like her en threw eggs at her. Look for her reaction, you Will like it!!!! the average age of the musicians were 20-21 years old. They all were still students at the music academy haha. Bassist was 17 ;)

Anouk is one of a kind! She reaches into your rib cage, tickles you heart, scratches it with her nails, and then rips it out while screaming/singing "It's too bad, but that's me", and when she is done you just want her to do it again.

Anouk is by far the best female singer of the Netherlands!
Anouk actually has a lot of problems with performing live because she feels uncomfortable doing it.
She actually hardly does it.
She performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with a song called Birds and millions of people all around the world were watching it ofcourse so that was very brave of her.
After being not in the finals for many many many years, she finally brought the Netherlands back to Eurovision with a brilliant song.
Maybe you can listen to Birds, but I'm not going to fill in another form after already submitting 6 or something🤣 so I hope someone else will recommend that particular song or performance as well.

Thank you for your reaction. I consider Anouk a difficult kind of Dutch gem due to her personality. That is just my perspecitive. I still believe that Anouk is a strong vocalist, but she is not like Floor Jansen or Simone Simons. You know Floor a bit. She is just a league on her own. There are reasons why Floor is considered to be one of the best vocalists or our time and maybe ever. But in 2013 Anouk represented The Netherlands on the Eurovision Song Contest after some difficult years and ended in the finals on the nighth place. In 2014 The Netherlands became 2nd. In 2019 we won the worlds' largest music competition thanks to Duncan Laurence's "Arcade". In my opinion Anouk is not one of the best artists from The Netherlands, but she has proven to deserve that stage more than most other people. What is the quickest way to introduce the better and best Dutch acts, artists and vocalists to you? 😇
