    It's not about how she rates...it's about how others rate compared to her. She is "the bar".

      @@lizatsurkan4323 I respect Barbra for her great skills but I have never found her emotionally satisfying. Her ego and personality gets in the way. Lara just takes my heart every time she appears and every time she sings. So, musically and for the complete package, it's Lara who sets the bar. She is also by far more versatile than any other in the world. Barbra doesn't write her songs. All she can do is sing, and only in English. It's always the same. I worked in the business back when Barbra was the big deal in the world, and the horror stories told by my friends who played for her turned me off completely. She did not treat the musicians with much respect, in fact she was downright nasty at times. That lowers the bar, in my opinion.

    Thank you for reacting to one of the greatist artists out there. Lara is a world class performer and i'm not surprised that she is Dimash's idol.The way she gets into character, tells the story and conveys emotion is just phenomenal. Speaks 4 languages ( French, English, Italian and Spanish) also convertional in russian and portugese , sings in 12 , wrote 90% of the songs on her 16 albums ( 3 in english) more than 30 millions albums sold and at age 54 still the # 1 voice and more gorgeous than ever . She just started a new world tour in 2024 and i have my tickets for the 2 shows in Montréal in june 2024...

    Yes this is live. In fact she always is better live than in studios. She needs an audience to connect to in order to feed her soul and raise the intensity and elevate her emotions conveying skills.
    Her producers knew it. That’s why Tommy Mottola, when Lara recorded Adagio in the studio, and knowing she was from italian origin as him, brought unexpectedly his friends in the room. Who were they? The Goodfellas cast: Robert de Niro, Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta.😂
    You hit home when you said you would love to hear her sing some Barbra songs.
    Barbra is an idol for Lara who calls her The Empress.
    Lara provided some of the best covers of Barbra, including this insane rendition of 2 songs from Yentl movie: th-cam.com/video/zW8lalHMwxk/w-d-xo.html. I call it "Lara in broadway mode".
    She also covered Evergreen, with John Williams as a conductor.
    th-cam.com/video/FTa1MdPN-Io/w-d-xo.html
    This one is a bit special as Barbra was supposed to sing it herself on that show but for some reason could not come. Lara was already there for the magnificent duet For Always with Josh Groban ( a song from Spielberg’s soundtrack of A.I.) and she offered to replace her at the last minute, knowing the songs by heart as the absolute fan she is.
    Barbra also highly valued Lara, had nice comments about her and also covered one of her song: Broken Vow, that you already reacted to. Barbra never recorded it but performed it in several concerts of one of her tours.
    There are many other classics that Lara covered magnificently : Caruso (Lucio Dalla / Luciano Pavarotti), I will always love you (Dolly Parton / Whitney Houston), Calling You (Jevetta Steele), …

    Sounds like a studio processed recording to me. Not saying this is pitch corrected, but they run it through that autotune process that changes the tone of the voice in a lot of places. I can't stand that.

    • @ericsicard910
      @ericsicard910 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      You are wrong, this is live. Here is another live rendition, captured from the audience: th-cam.com/video/_MggmqORh3g/w-d-xo.html
      Lara sometimes, rarely, used lips syncing to rest her voice or comply to tv show rules but never used autotune. She doesn’t need it and she is opposed to it.

    • @fredbloggs6080
      @fredbloggs6080 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ericsicard910 You don't understand. A lot of times what is presented as live is actually recorded live like this but studio post-processed. That is what I detect here and sometimes the processing they use is out of the artist's control. Update: I listened to the audience recording of the same performance, and it has the same effects, which means that they may have been using live autotune on her. it's very obvious. An example is at 1:09, on the word "you", you can hear the autotune artifact. Michael Bublé used live tune in 2005 in the video of his live performance of Feeling Good, and Andrea Bocelli used it in 2006 in the ironically titled video video: Andrea Bocelli - Songs out of tune - Live From Lake Las Vegas Resort, USA / 2006. I don't hear the artifacts in Lara's actual studio album. If Lara is willing to lip sync to a song, I don't see any ethical difference between that and using live autotune. Don't get me wrong, think Lara is one of the best singers in the world and one of my favorite female singers. I never cared for Celine Dion but I do like Lara. If you listen to her older videos from the late 1990s or 2000, you don't hear that effect, wherever it came from.

    • @ericsicard910
      @ericsicard910 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@fredbloggs6080 she only lip synced a few times, all but one to the request of show producers. There is a famous video in Brazil where she starts lip sync in a tv show, the systems fails and she take it over, delivering a better experience. After the song she said I wanted to do it live anyway, it’s better that way, that’s why I did train and I’m here for.
      I personally do see a strong difference between lip sync and autotune, even if I don’t like neither. Lip sync: you are using a previous record of your own voice. It still has the vocal signature if the artist. Autotune: it’s computer "enhancement"/alteration of the voice. Very different for me.
