Thanks for your reaction. This is from a concert at the Olympia Theatre in Paris back in winter of 2003. I & my late wife were so fortunate to have attended one of the three evenings. Over nearly 30 years we've seen Lara in concert many times in different locales. This concert was my favorite and the Olympia my favorite venue. Saw here 3 at the Olympia over the years. She is exceptional and so is the theatre.
"Je t’aime" was written by Lara Fabian and Rick Allison, her music producer and composer. He also had been her boyfriend for a few years, at the start of her career. This song was written when their love evolved to a friendship and speaks about a couple splitting while still having a lot of sentiments one for the other.
This song was a huge hit in France and has become a french classic, now considered as one of the greatests french speaking songs of all time. All french know this song.
It is also a classic in russia and all eastern europe, a recurrent in karaoke there.
Many covers were made by french, russian, azerbaijani, italian or even american singers (Polina Gagarina, Amir, Jeck, Jackie Evancho, Sevara Nazarkhan, Katerina Maslova, Giulia Falcone, …)
As always with her greatest hits, Lara is used to sing it very differently in every new tour or special event.
She received an award at World Music Awards in 1999 for thisnsong and made for instance a very intense and powerful rendition at this event.
