- Big changes for 2025 Kia Carnival! My review focuses on the changes and updates. Also, I cover interior and exterior changes to the 2025 Kia Carnival SX Prestige.

I have a 2022 Kia carnival and love this car! I swore I never drive a mini van and but it's so sporty and works well for our family. I just wish it had all wheel drive or 4x4 drive. I live in Idaho and it would come in handy in the winter.
Even tho its only FWD how does it still fair in winter Idaho conditions? I’m debating to get this or not due to also winter conditions!
@@Larry-Cruz There are millions upon millions of front wheel drive vehicles in the Northeast snowbelt and they drive everyday without issue. And yes, millions of them are minivans. Non-issue.

So many safety features come standard and so many cool features like ambient lighting with different colors. This is going to sell a lot. Especially since reliability is actually doing pretty good since it’s been released.

Is the 1.6 T the same engine that Hyundai had all the issues with? My wife has the Tucson with the 1.6 T and at 85,000 miles it had massive oil consumption issues. The engine was burning a quart of oil every 2,000 miles or so. Hyundai did honor the warranty and replace the engine after four oil consumption tests at our local dealer. Save your receipts for all oil changes.
Unfortunately even under Toyota's testing procedures over 1000 miles to a quarter that's acceptable 😅 you were at 2000 miles.. Turbo engines 5000 kilo or every 6 months and u will be fine.. only exception u drive outa town for work, highway only , no traffic, no hills and not in extreme temperatures.. I just do every 6 months regardless of it's at 1500 and driven every day

Once you have car seats on top of those second row VIP seats there is almost no easy way to get into the 3rd row easily, especially if you have the entertainment package. Those screens stick out far + a car seat means you are struggling to slide past those to get to the 3rd row. You can't even get in from behind the 2nd row seats either because once you slide them forward the only way to fold them down is via power recline/incline which is slow, you will be standing there waiting for them to tilt.
If you have kids, get the 8 seat 'bench' version without the rear entertainment system. Instead get removable tablet holders that can hold Fire tablets or iPads for the kids, way more practical.
Another issue is the Carnival is the ONLY minivan to come in with poor crash test ratings under the new updated side crash tests from IIHS. Thats a bit concerning considering people buy this to move around family/kids. Kia needs to focus on safety.
I agree. These seats are good for the grandparents only. Not the kids

Thats a pretty amazing vehicle! But with all the upgrades for the 2025… doe it have all wheel drive?? That will be a make or break for us!
No, nor does it need it. Where do you live that front wheel drive cars can't get through the snow?
@@moehiothat’s right. I don’t know what is the big deal about AWD. All it does is help to get the vehicle up to speed quicker on slippery roads giving false sense of safety. Only proper winter tires can provide good margin of safety when it comes to traction and braking.

When will the hybrid be on the ground?
Styling is SUV like and looks better than usual minivans but I hate that sliding door gash in the back that should have been hidden under the back windows! Glad there's a V6 version. As long as it turns out to be as reliable as a Toyota, then I would consider purchasing one that's well taken care of after it has greatly depreciated.
How do you get passengers in the 3rd row when the 2nd row has child carseats like a rear facing seat?! Looks hard to do.

I drive a 2024 model. super practical. new facelift is cool except the front grill is too big IMO.
Is the 2nd row removeable/ does it lie flat if i needed more space in that area? Did you say it is available now?
I don't think it is. I asked at the dealership but they didn't have 2025 and salesman was pretty sure that didn't change. Pretty disappointed in the MPG for that price point on the hybrids.
They do have a three place second row option. That is the more practical one for family and cargo use.
The SX has a second row bench, and i know at least the middle seat, if not all three, is removable

You pull a lever and it slides up easily you slip into the 3rd row np. Im 6’ 225lb
I test drove a '24 while we wait for the hybrid, and I didn't find it too hard to get to the 3rd row (6'1"). Honestly we almost never have adults in the back anyway, but both my wife and I sat back there to check it out.
I find it odd that you did not comment on this, but those new seats do not go forward and completely out-of-the-way. It's extremely hard to get into the back of this vehicle. Absolutely insane for a minivan. The only way to do it is the manually pull them up with the side handle but then reach all the way over the seat and press the automatic button and wait while the seat back slowly pushes to the forward position. It still leaves only a small amount of space versus what you would expect to climb through. There is also less space between the captains chairs in the middle if you wanted them to be as wide as they could be and try to go to the back that way. This is by far the hardest minivan I have tried to get into the backseats of. It's a big miss from the engineers that they did not make a button press to release the seats completely forward.
Any word on MPG for hybrid? I'm assuming hybrid isn't plug in?

@@teeemm9456 Yea. Honda Sienna (EDIT: Toyota Sienna of course) hybrid goes for 36 MPG. If Kia matches it, it will be a game changer along with AWD option. Those 2 are the reasons I am, hesitant on Kia Carnival otherwise it blows the Sienna out of water in every other area.

Toyota had better come out with a Tremendously upgrade 2025 Sienna with TSS 3.0 and many more New & Great Features OR Minivan King the Sienna will never be Again.
Toyota, did you see and understand what you have to do to your 2005 Sienna? And come out as soon as possible 🙆
