well, i have been a Mi user since early 2016, starting with redmi note3, then note 5 pro, then poco f1, and finally the k20 pro, which have been using for over 2 years now thanks to custom roms..
and it is definitely safe to say that avoiding Mi phones of current generation would be a wise step, moto is making great phones in good budget, even samsung..

The problem isn't only with their UI, but with their hardware as well.
I had Poco X3 Pro and as soon as I bought it, I installed custom rom to ignore these kind of problems. Guess what, I faced the worse, the hardware issue.
So, it begins with Poco X2, then continues with the Poco series such as Poco X3/X3 pro as well as Redmi note (especially note 10).
However, I sold my X3 pro after repairing it from an unofficial shop and sold it. Then bought K20 pro. Trust me, their old phones are still beast.

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, I recently bought POCO M4 PRO 4G, after using 4 days i went out of station with it and there was no such big temperature change (just a slight more heat, that's normal) and it just started showing very high temperature when using it on full brightness and i don't know what happened inside it but camera stopped working and some short circuit happened (probably)(i thought that) and it cracked a small portion of the screen from inside and my screen stopped working, when i visited that *gimmick* mi service center, as usual they said that you cracked it from inside ( how can a person go inside a phone and crack only it's inner portion of screen without even having a single scratch from outside on a gorrila glass display or without damaging outer screen). He said that due to some pressure some part of screen got damaged, i told him full story that it got overheated at very slight change of temperature but as always it is their hobby to not to listen to their customers and paste their same copied line that it is caused because of you and even if it's in warranty you have to PAY. Literally my phone was only 4 days old and they were saying that you have to replace the screen and cost of replacing it is 6000rs 😢😱😰. And even I issued job sheet and waited for 5 days and got same response again on call. They said that you have to pay and when i went there to collect my phone there was bigger mark from where the screen was internally broken, i thought that they pressed my phone even more before sending pictures to their higher team after i issued job sheet. Mi, xiaomi, poco bla bla all are fraud , never buy any phone from these brands otherwise you will regret if some fault occurs in your device.

It didn't used to be like this. Their initial phones were very good VFM and reliable as well. But with the separation of Xiaomi into Mi, Redmi and Poco, the quality for Redmi and Poco phones has gone downhill. Either Hardware faults or software issues and the worst culprit is the fraud service centres.

Nice points Bhavesh... being a system tester personel I suggest everyone to download the roll-back software. Before every device gets a formal update the company releases a beta update for general people who are enthusiastic enough to test the new software and the company also releases a rollback software to let beta testers go back to the stable update, there is a loss of data as the system needs to be reset while going back to the stable version. I suggest everyone to download the rollback software from their phone respective community site, example 1+ community, realme community, or any companies specific community where beta software release is announced announced. This helps users go back to the previous properly working Android update example Android 12 to Android 11. Also it must be kept in mind that data will be lost in this process, and data backup is a wise choice. For those users having problems with logic board, this is not a solution. For users who are facing software bugs, camera failure or any other hardware related failure where the OS is usable, this is the solution.

I don't know what is going on with xiaomi right now, but i have been a user of their devices for past 5-6 years and never had any issues. Their devices have been rock stable for me. After 3 years i just continue to use custom roms. I would be really interested if someone were to create a poll to see the actual percentage % of users affected. Some stats would be sure great. But still at least for me their products are great. Sure maybe modern phones have some issues but i think it's under the 10% range. (this does not mean that company should be irresponsible regarding the issues even if it is just for 1% users). If the issue was really widespread, People would stop buying MI smartphones overall thereby pushing company totally out of the market. i doubt they will want it.

Xiaomi bugs is something that doesn't even need to be mentioned, that is de facto. But this sort of brick issues also existed on their devices for years, even my Mi A2 had the same issue despite being Stock Android
That's why I always say to prefer brands like Moto, Nokia, Google, which provide clean, close to stock Android even if it results in less raw spec, or results in lack of a million features like MiUI. They'll be smooth, often reliable and work well. Or other case, consider OnePlus, Samsung, Sony, if you want lesser stock, but still reliable and smooth experience

The same happened with me poco x3 Pro but luckily it happened during the warranty period. After updating within 4-5 days my phone was completely dead then and there I took it to mi service centre and to be honest my service centre experience was good. The service centre guy was good and accepted the fact that it is happening with many phones after the update and within one day they gave me a complete replacement with Redmi Note 10 pro and said to turn off the auto-update and never update it. I have been using it for the past year, and it works properly, though sometimes it gets hang or automatically off.

Thanks for the important tips bro! I've been using mi 10i for quite a long time and it has given some really terrible updates sometimes. I've seen my phone not working with my touches to getting auto restarted in the last one and a half years. I had bought it only for 5G, as it was the only phone with a 108mp camera and 5G at that time under 25K. And now i realise, even a cheaper moto phone which was available at that time has a lot more 5G bands.
The updates fix some issues in Mi 10i but bring new issues. But i never ever imagined that even updating it on the very first day when the update comes can cause such patrifying issues. However I'll not do the updates instantaneously from now on. Luckily it has not got such serious issues with the updates but who knows what happens next! Thanks a ton!

I bought mi5 (one of their flagships) and it was completely dead after a software update and i was travelling to different state that time, my flight and train bookings are all in that phone. I had to bear lot of losses because of this company. This same incident happened with my friend. His Poco phone got dead after the update (13 months after purchase). This is interesting, do read
I had charging problem issue in my 2.5 year old Poco x2, that was due to loosening of connections in a band, after fixing that, they adviced me that this happened coz i was using DiffeReNt OS(pixel) and not miui/official. You guys seeing the Irony here😂
I was using custom rom since the purchase and thats the reason I was saved by updates bug...
Back to my charging problem, as I said the band was only needed soldering at the open points (2 min work) , rather what they did was replacing the band and the support(which was healthy) with new ones for Rs1600, after 2 days same problem occurred again, a lot happened at this time (I visited service centre 6 times in 10 days)
Finally i showed them a yt video of a local repairer to which i was convinced, after learning that he was able to fix my problem...
    So points to be noted
    They have monotonous knowledge
They assume the problem, and not verify them
They make a problem and then fix it and charge for that,
    They don't keep transparency
    This is my last poco

Please make a video on this issue:-
Since last 2 years, users are facing auto restart issues in their Exynos 9611 chipset phones especially after updates. This is due to faulty motherboard which is a serious quality control issue. And the most surprising thing is Samsung hasn't acknowledged it's mistake like we see in s7 battery issues. In these days the frequency of auto restart issues has skyrocketed especially after recent updates.
Edit :- And now devices other than Exynos 9611 too facing the issue after the recent update like F62, A22, M11, M12, M32, etc. I fear it might be the SoC issue as not everyone is facing it but I could be wrong.
Same goes with S20 series display issues. Users are facing green line and many other types of display issues after updates and Samsung isn't doing anything.
Edit :- The display issues are now reported on other devices too like M51.
Those who are out of warranty aren't getting free motherboard/ display replacement and are forced to pay 7k to 14k.
Literally there are 100+ posts everyday from users regarding auto restart and display issues on Samsung Members India. Just imagine how many people would be who are facing the same issues and don't use the application.
The poor people are forced to pay for samsung's mistake, this includes those people who can barely afford and still they have to compromise. Literally many users have replaced their motherboard as Samsung service centre denied free replacement.
And in all these, samsung hasn't given any statement on how to get a free replacement and hasn't even acknowledged it. And in the community, the people are clueless as there is no no-one from samsung to listen and guide them.

I bought the mi 11 ultra last year in 2021 August , it worked fine uptill may 26th when the wifi stopped working, went to service center and they submitted the phone as it was within warranty and I was told that it is a motherboard fault and it would get repaired within a week, they couldn't repair it for 2 months, my phone was with them, they tried everything to repair the product ,they told me to accept a replacement phone mi 12 pro to which i refused. After two months of continuous arguments, consumer court threats and requests , i was offered a full refund which took another month to be processed, hence a total of three months, in short i believe i was lucky to have got the refund, and have the learned the lesson of not trusting such brands.

I had a very similar problem with Poco M3. The warranty period just ended and the phone started switching off automatically and used to take a lot of time to restart again (even 10-12 hours sometimes) with the device heating tremendously and the screen just kept showing Poco. Unfortunately it started happening just after the warranty period was over and therefore I didn't take it to any authorized service centre but got it exchanged from a local offline store thinking I was the only one with whom this type of scenario happened. Shame on Xiaomi! Shame on Poco!

I've been using the MI 10T Pro for the last 1.5 years. Everything was going fine until I updated it to the latest MIUI 13. After the update the phone felt faster and snappy but from the last 15 days my display stopped showing any signs of life. Even though everything works on the phone completely fine, the display stopped working and I literally can't see anything. I've taken it to the service care and they said maybe there's a display issue and it can be fixed after replacing the old display. Even with the new display they tested, the screen still remained black. And they told me that I've something wrong with the main board of the phone. And they said they don't have the right equipment to fix the motherboard of the phone. They ask me to replace it and it costs almost 22k and with the display around 15k, it's almost like buying another exact new model of the same smartphone. So I'm still wondering what to do with the phone right now. So guys I would recommend you to not update your phones to the latest updates. Even though they are global stable releases they aren't as optimised as we are thinking. They will literally make your device useless. I'm utterly disappointed.

The issue is that you don't get any network mostly but at times you get only 2G pretty erratic.

Nokia back in 2007-8 did a major global recall when they found defect in their batteries. Though it was not needed they did a major recall instead of just a batch and you can hear about Automotive brands recalling their cars, such is how brands should establish customer service standards.
