A tip for everyone, very IMPORTANT! When you barely separate the display plate for changing the little board, just separe it completely and then use glue for reassembling after cleaning from all the old glue. If you only separate corners like him the phone edges remains raised. Thank you for the video btw.
That's what i was about to comment He made the thing even worse And heat gun is never an option for such devices Heat plate would have been a lot better Which could evenly spread heat all around the frame. Then he used cards and guitar picks to hold the screen , damn i remember these OLEDs are as fragile as eggshells. Lucky him he didn't kill the screen
I also broke my lcd screen doing this repair using this tutorial. It's very easy to break, so be very careful and use multiple videos and walk throughs because this one doesn't have much detail at the most important part.
Thanks a lot. Just what I needed and succeeded. I didn't open the front screen that far and also worked. Biggest problem was the upper right screw.. totally stuck and eventually worn out. Scraped away the plastic around it until I could lift the whole thing around/over it. Thanks again.
100% easier and quicker to de solder the charge port and re solder a new one on. Doing it this way is a high risk of breaking the screen and un necessary. Looks easy when all the parts have been opened previously.
Hello, Mi si! i recomment T7000 or B7000, dependieng of the colour of the device. One is transparent and the other one is black. Thanks for asking! Best regards
great job,and thank you for sharing your video..but anyway by next time bro,you show the finished product if will succesfully charge or not..thank you..
My experience has been that you do NOT need to touch the front LCD, and yes it will damage it if you try. I got the charger port working great, but now need to replace the LCD. :( Mobile repair level two.
Hello, Thomas! Sorry to hear that! Let me tell you, that if you use, in a delicate way, and touch the LCD screen ( i m talking about an original one, not repaired one) it is practically impossible to damage the screen .. we have done hundreds of repairs of the S6, if it was not going to happen at least once, I would tell you ... so no level 2 repair, believe me! Best regards
This was a variant of the edge, so I doubt any subtlety would have helped. There were already signs the sandwiched layer of the OEM screen was separating, and probably only a matter of time before it started to effect the actual LCD. Looking at it dissassembled, it was a substandard part. So once I have some cash flow, I am going to purchase a new screen and record my adventure. Best Regards camarada!!
would have been nice to see more clearly how the two connectors behind the front glass go. If you attempt replacing the connectors from behind the front screen the way it is shown you are most likely to damage the lcd lining. or break the glass. the lcd screen is the most expensive part on your mobile phone! What i learn in the process: 1- the front screen is paper thin. it is better to try to lift it while a screen protector in on it. which acts as a stronger support. but to do it properly it is best to remove the screen assembly and fit the connectors properly 2- behind the front screen there is a sheet of black plasticky stuff, try not to tear it apart, the connectors should go behind the film, which is let's say near impossible if you attempt it the way it is shown on this video . to tackle properly use a business card and slide it under the bezel from under the battery. you might need to heat the front screen to loosen the glue. for these two reason i have marked this video down. For me it all started with a dead battery, the battery got changed but in the process the power port died (perhaps burnt in the process of using the heat gun to open the back)
Vote for right to repair. this is the whole reason why its there ._. its even worse on newer models you cant really replace the glass without breaking the display

The whole point is to only pry the cap-pad area avoiding any incursion into the screen. With good hands it's a low risk operation. I merely cut the pads off but only got back the erratic back button which prompted another $7.50 order. If I destroy the screen I'll amend this comment.

Do you use the same glue left on the lcd or did you place additional strips? Thx

New adhesive required. I would use double sided tape that is made for phones.

The LCD screen is right behind the port. getting Solder or Soldering fluid on the LCD can ruin it.

how much you charge for the replacement, parts and labor?

When this happens, just get a wireless charger, much easier than risking breaking your screen.

kinda -yes. But what if you need to use and charge it in your car? Wireless car chargers are quite expensive
