Great video! For everyone who just wants to charge their phone without fixing it, my charging port on my Galaxy S7 Edge went bad and I bought a wireless charger. It works perfect.
Warning (which should have been verbalized): Before removing the screen, go to the end of screen removal in the video where you can see the back of the display. Note that there are flex circuits stuck to the back of the screen. There is a large one at the top with a large connector that goes out to the side and there is a skinny flex circuit that runs from the center (button) up about 2 inches. You cannot shove a card in deep in any of these areas or you will rip the delicate flex boards, especially the large on at the top. Note that in the video, they work from the bottom (side not absolute bottom) and pry the screen off from the bottom so that by the time you get to the delicate large circuits at the top, you may not need to use the cards or pics to break the glue. You might be able to just pry it apart at that point, avoiding hitting that circuitry. You might have to reheat the are repeatedly, front and back, to get the glue to let go easy enough so that you do not break the screen trying to pry it open. But back at the bottom where you start, you need to also be careful to not go too deep with the cards. You are safe in the area where they show you start... working a card under that metal frame. That area has no flex circuits. but that is the only area that has no flex circuits. In all other areas you can only go in shallow with a card or pic, if at all. With all that in mind, maybe make a little sketch of how that display looks from the back, and use that sketch for your strategy. And re-watch this part of the video (screen removal) with all that familiarity now. Now the details of penetration etc will make more sense. Doing this a second time would not be so hard, but on first try, you will probably destroy the flex circuits unless you pause when it is time to remove the screen, and accept that you are not close to done yet. You will have to take some time and strategize and watch that part of the video more than once. I gave the video a like, but then a dislike when I finally finished and had destroyed my flex circuits glued to the screen. There should have been emphasis / a caution about this. YOU DO NEED A HEAT GUN, though I have seen other videos where they use some kind of solvent to weaken the glue. I think the solvent was called "KONTACT PCC". They bleed the solvent into the cracks, and then add more solvent once there is a wider crack. You should look for that video if that is going to be your tactic. But this heat gun method almost worked for me.
Yes. I guess there is a huge failure rate when it comes to these flex circuits. I thought I had mine apart clean but after close examination I cut mine slightly during disassembly. Thanks for the heads up.
Dude I don't know why this vid doesn't have more views. Awesome job!!! Over vids say you can't replace USB port without breaking screen. Thanks you really made my weekend!

Amazing guy, very patient & resilient! But, no, thanks, I will pass. I can still charge and use my phone by taping the cord's end (to take the free movement/slack away) just after being inserted into the port. Yes it is non-sense laborious to do that but what you have gone thru to change the port is a complete removal of all components from the casing. Ayayaya, this is crazy... should be avoided at any cost.
Thank you for your comment! it's not actually one of the easiest repairs I've ever made. At home and without tools it becomes ... even more difficult. Thanks for watching!

You have crazy skills to remove the screen without breaking it! Are you able to do that consistently? If so, do you want to look into repairing the pink line issue? I believe all you need to do is once the screen remove, put adhesive or tape onto the Display's ribbon cable and the pink line will be gone.

Sandu Zmeu , Hello! Probably you ve got an problem with the charging connector or with the battery! Let me know if you need more info
It charges without problems with a Wireless Charger. I only have a slow, 5W Wireless Charger which charges my phone in about 5 hours... But I can still connect it to PC and transfer files. I only repaired an iPhone 6 and a LG G4 before, and to get inside I just needed a screwdriver... But here, It's a little bit more complicated 😂.
I need to do this to my s7
Hello, James! It s similiar, the same steps to follow, with care....Best regards!

Damn, the stuff that happens around 11:20 is pretty crucial. Just broke my S7 screen into 100 pieces, phone goes in the trash.
Wish I knew where in your channel the video without removing screen was before following this guide. Can't find it.
Oh well, have to use a new phone instead!
Hello, Karl! I really feel bad for you; this is the link from the another method that I used without remove the screen th-cam.com/video/t14Ae_xysmY/w-d-xo.html
Also, I have to tell you that you need some experience, too...it s not easy to repair it and some good tools! Best regards
Hi
holy shit thatts too much. my phone's charging port does not work so i was thinking of replacing it but after seeing this video , nooo man. no. im good with wireless charging
:) Yunus!! You've made me laugh :) Is better for you to take it to specialized technical service, the wireless charge ... what will cause that in time it damages the battery, the duration of the load is not the same ... let's say it is an option at the moment ... Best regards!
Lol I use the Samsung Wireless port but I am still deciding on whether to risk to fix the port or not because it takes like 3 hours for my phone to charge with the wireless port.
Hii
Hello, Vinod! Welcome :) How can I help you?
They really don't want you to take apart these phones do they. Honestly,my patience would probably run out and I would smash the phone into a million pieces.
Hello, Gene! One of the characteristics that you have to have to be a good technician is to have patience :) Thank you for watching this! Best regards
Les ingénieurs Samsung ne sont pas compatissant, ils auraient pu nous faciliter ! Ca aurait été plus commode pour nous "les Clients". Autant changer de téléphone
Ie Tass, you are right! they make it harder every day :( Thanks for watching!

Sir
Tell me how can I help you?
Why is it so difficult to do?
Why do you need nifty fingers?
I can't do this otherwise I'll break something
Really, this repair is quiete difficult. You need good tools and some experience! Best regards and thanks for sharing with us your opinion!
Tried it, turned the phone back on and the LCD's ruined. $350 for a new one, the same price as a new phone lol
Chris, i m so sorry to hear that! If it seems to you, so complicated you should let it on hands of some technical service from your area.... Wish you good luck!
@@MovilonePhoneRepair all good, it happens. Was worth a try, it needed to be fixed one way or the other and the repair shop said it would almost definitely break the screen anyway
Chris, there is a tool with which we open these devices without breaking the screen ... but well, the fact is done ... so, the next :) more carefully!Best regards
@@MovilonePhoneRepair the same issue lol, wish u would have mentioned that do not go from the button of the screen with playing cards. it went in between the digitizer and that screen paper. what is that tool u mentioned?
No wonder these cell phone repair places charge so much money. Look at all the components you have to remove and put back.
Thanks, Tinydancer for sharing your opinion with us. Best regards
Tools :1deck of cards lol.
