Yoshie Shiratori did not escape the Abashiri Prison because he did not want to be in prison, but because he could not stand the extreme abuse. He was fine to be stuck in prison for a few years. He only escaped because of the life sentence and extreme abuse.

he escaped from 4 prisons and it made him look like he was a bad guy but in actuality, he was framed for his initial crime in Aomori and wanted to change japans jail system, not to mention the torture he suffered under the hands of officers of the law. in all of his escapes, he didn't kill or injure a single guard despite the torture he went through at the hands of them.

2:12 "only the most dangerous [criminals] were sent to Abashiri" You'd think such a vicious bunch, who probably committed heinous crimes, would be severely punished at all times. Yet in this room they're portrayed as eating what looks like the Japanese staple of rice, soup and fermented vegetables with tea AKA a more healthy meal than 90% of the American population. It makes you wonder though.

If you guys are wondering why there is a man at 3:13, this dude escaped this prison which was supposed to be escape proof. He had iron handcuffs. He used Miso Soup to rust the handcuffs and legcuffs. If yall want to learn how he escaped 3 other jails, look at Kento Bento’s video.
Yoshie Shiratori didn't mind to be in prison for a crime that he didn't actually commit, it's just that he just wanted to be treated like a human being and also be cared for....
If you look around 3:40 he is above cell #4 which is where he escaped from and then the futon is in that cell. That's the best I can do and hope it helps.

Yoshie Shiratori was in 6 different prisons but only escaped 4. (He was transfered once and the prison he didn't want to escape Fuchu prison i guess)
