I tend to be a mid century purist and would have preferred all restoration, but you did a wonderful job.
Thank you so much for the compliment and honesty
Perfect colors!
Thank you! Cheers!
Oooooh I love this one!!
Thank you Allison
yes this is really beautiful, i like the rich feel black with original wood color top
Thank you so much
Just your style. It is gorgeous. The hardware looks very cool with two tones
Thank you so much. I’m glad you like the little details
I really liked it. Good update. And I'm really fussy about painting mid century pieces. All I see is this piece with an ocean view. Good job!
Wow! Thank you so much for the compliment
Love it…love the green!
Thank you so much
The sandblaster is the coolest thing ever. :)
It most definitely is. I love it
@@CedarPineDesigns I haven't seen one of those before. How did you acquire that fun toy?
@@karladial62 it’s on Amazon. Just type in sand blaster and it’s a blue gun. You hook it up to an air compressor
Gorgeous piece
Thank you!
Love the green colour. Always look forward to your videos Samuel
Great job once again.
Glad you like them! Thank you for the support
Gorgeous piece, MSM is my favorite as well, I like the green, nice touch....Take care...
Thanks, you too! I really appreciate your kindness
Very nice.Thank you
Thank you 🙏
Boom Shacka Lacka!! Up late & can't sleep. PERFECT timing for a video drop Bud!! Oh & FIRST!! LOL, Dirty Jersey out!!
Hey what’s up mike. First in the comments!!!!
Paste wax on drawer slides. Nice tip. Great video.
Thanks for watching!
Great piece! And I do like the green. Another great job! Keep them coming!
Thank you. Will do!
Amazing job! Love the green!!
Thank you marti. Appreciate you
Beautiful 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful! Love the green. I would have loved to see it with good knobs. Great work!
Thank you so much. I was thinking the same thing, didn’t want the gold to blend into the background
Gold knobs. :)
That’s a nice looking piece great job !
Thank you brother
I absolutely love the pop of green my friend....Stunning as usual...I gotta Try this paint for Sure ..,🥰👍
Thank you! Cheers! The paint is amazing.
@@CedarPineDesigns I'm going to Give it a try for darker colors to start..so I don't have to worry about top coating..thanks my friend ❣️

Really nice job especially the touch of gold gilding wax on the knobs. Always fun watching you work your magic on a mid century piece. Since you did ask for opinions I would have left the rectangular trim molding that is on the middle of each middle drawer the same stain color as the rest of the dresser. I think it might have integrated the two different finishes better. Like yourself my favorite design style is mid century modern. And I'm a purest when it comes to keeping a piece as original as possible. Combining a painted surface with a stained surface is something I am trying to understand and like. Looking forward to your next episode.
Thank you
Thank you so much for the compliment and honesty. I agree with you totally on the square trim and staining it to flow the color with the paint. My only concern was it being if different wood species, it will definitely not match the veneer color so I just decided to paint. But you hit the nail in the head. Thank ton for your input
Painting the drawers was a great choice! Love the green with the wood. Beautiful🙌
Thanks so much! 😊 I appreciate you
It's beautiful, BUT lol I'm not a green person 🤷♀️ I can still appreciate the modern look you went for and the beautiful grain work! I'm in love with MCM furniture 😁
Thank you so much for the compliment and honesty.
Absolutely beautiful! I love MCM furniture. The pop of color is perfect.
Thank you so much!
Samuel, this piece came out amazing! The stain and the green colored paint you used brought it all together. The little bit of gilding wax on the knobs made a big difference. Great job!👍
Thank you so much. I’m glad you find my choices to be in good taste. I appreciate your kindness
Your work is phenomenal! Mid century modern is my era. So glad I grew up with real wood furniture instead of glue and saw dust, which is MDF!
Thank you so much. I love mcm and new furniture doesn’t hold a candle to it
I agree with you, mid century furniture is beautiful!! You did a great job and I do love that green!!👏🏻👏🏻💚
Thank you so much. Glad you like it
It was a beautiful piece to begin with, but that green modernized it. Great job, Samuel.
Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your kindness
Great choice .you always do a awesome makeover
Thank you so much 🤗
Beautiful 💚 Oh, I'm absolutely with you. I just sanded and sanded and sanded a mid century teak table down to bare wood. My hands were tingling after I finished sanding. I love your leg hack. Definitely will try that. For an oil finish, which I like a lot with mid century pieces, give odie's oil a try. It dries really fast and smells great. Love your videos! Thanks for sharing what you're doing 🙏
Thank you so much for the compliment and recommendation. I’ll definitely Guyanese a look at it
@@CedarPineDesigns Thanks. You're welcome. Do you know Angie from the channel 'Transcend Furniture Gallery'? She's restoring many wrecked pieces using the odie's oil as a finish. If you like to see what she's doing and how she uses Odie's here's a link to one of my favorite videos. At about 09:40 she explains what odie's oil actually is and how to apply it. th-cam.com/video/vFcpiyezM5Y/w-d-xo.html Have fun and a great day!
@@never2late289 Angie is actually the first person I’ve ever seen redoing furniture and is the biggest reason I started flipping and TH-cam. She is great at what she does and I thank her all the time. I’m actually in a Facebook group with her and a bunch of other TH-camrs. Awesome
@@CedarPineDesigns ❤️Thanks for sharing this with me 🙏

Love it! Looks like it is fresh and ready for many more years of use! Great Job!
Thanks so much! 😊 I appreciate your kindness
I really wasn't sure when you first painted the drawers, but seeing them in the dresser makes all the difference. I think the green looks great against the wood
Thank you so much. I’m glad it worked out. Take care!
Piece was in really nice shape to start. I was watching you restore it & thinking it's gonna be kinds crazy to not see Sam add any paint. Then BAM!!! The DOPE green color comes out. This one is in my top 3 favorite ones you've done Sam. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
Thank you brother. I’m glad you like the pop of green. Take care and I appreciate all the support
I like your page, you are good at what you do, I will continue to watch your videos, but I hate the green paint.
Thank you so much for the support
Gorgeous work as always Samuel, personal preference but I think a slightly darker green might have contrasted better against the wood.
Thank you so much. I appreciate the input but I didn’t want the green to clash to much so I went a little subtle on it
@@CedarPineDesigns I have never done any of this... You make it seem accessible (not easy!!!!) possible to learn. (Which I hope you take as a sincere compliment!) my question is about the sand blaster...
1. Why not use it everywhere on everything (remember I'm new and stupid about this stuff.. So laughing at me is ok--as long as you tell me why I'm stupid so I am not doomed to remain that way!)
2. Is the sandast tool crazy expensive?
@@davemarsteller8377 thank you. Not a stupid question at all. The sand blast method is a messy process so the minimum amount on detailed areas is perfect. Also, it will still need to be sanded after so just sanding the flat surfaces is just a bit faster. The entire sand blaster set up is pretty inexpensive if you already have the air compressor. I paid like $150 give or take for the sand blast gun, a spray tent and the blast material. I hope this helps
Awesome makeover. Always a pleasure watching your videos 😊
Thank you so much Rosa. Always glad to see you in the comments
You are by far my favorite channel to watch. Another absolutely gorgeous piece❤️❤️❤️
Wow, thank you! That’s a huge compliment
Great job, like the color. I might of painted the top 3 drawers instead. Can you use the sand blaster on veneer?
Thank you. You definitely can but I like to use it on detailed areas mostly
Just beautiful.
(Fyi: the sped up music is distracting)
Thank you for the compliment and input.
New to your channel. I just happened upon you last week. Mid-century furniture is one of my favorite. The pop of green is awesome. It's a beautiful green. Great job!
Thank you so much. Glad you like it
I wonder if taking the "frame" off the middle drawers would of looked a bit better...just a thought.
I think it would work either way
Where are you finding these MCM pieces?? Beautiful
I stay on Facebook and other local selling site. I also get some pieces from clients to commission for them so they bring their own piece
What grit are you using for the sandblasting?
It’s not a grit. It’s soda blast media and is gentle for wood
@@CedarPineDesigns thanks.
I am new to all of this and I have a question.
Why do people sand all of the wood and details rather than stripping?
Thank ton for the question. Sometimes finishes come off easy so stripping isn’t needed
Thanks for the info.

Music in the background is rather annoying. Good job on the restoration, though. 👍👍👍
Thank you so much Cathy
$70 an hour. Not bad.. I’m doing well if I get $10.
Thank you. Just figure out your market
Not my cup of tea, it was good as it was. However the green makes it contrast more. Also it's personal taste. I love all the videos but this one was not my favorite.
Thank you for your honesty and feed back. Much appreciated
You should charge more!
Thank you. You really think so?
Everything was impressive until about 7 minutes in when you decided to paint the front green. I'm not entirely sure what the motivation was behind it. You also used polyurethane which would not have been used on a mid century piece. Spray lacquer was the standard
Customer preference. They wanted more green but I convinced them down to just this. Thank you
Not for me…I would have left it unpainted and would be more apt to buy without paint.
It was sold before it was done
The green BLOCK of color in the middle was too MUCH. The center area inside the molding should have stayed stained wood like the rest of the dresser. It would have tied in better. Over all, a nice stain and restoration.
Thank you so much for your input
Stop the background music. It’s very distracting.
I’ll keep that in mind
nooo the green color should have been black, too bad
I wish I could have used black. Black and walnut color is my favorite color combo
