He's 19 and started cooking when he was 10.
He has been cooking by almost literally half his life. And there are probably more to come. He deserves it

Even if he has rich parents so what, at least he's working and putting his passion into his craft.
How many rich kids don't you see on social media pathetically flexing their (daddy's) wealth in luxury cars , clothes ect ...
He's a genuine guy, working his ass off so what's not to like ?!

there are millions of mexicans who are breaking their back doing the same thing he does but they barely make enough to feed their family, this kid just stumbles into it and will probably be very successful for a significant less amount of work than anyone who will ever work underneath him.
He'll never and probably has never had to do a shift in the dish pit.

@@bethanychristensen2714 No, there's are billions of people who are breaking their back working all kinds of jobs that have a hard time feeding their family, so what ?
Did nobody tell you life is not fair, life is not balanced. There's people dying RIGHT NOW in Syria does that mean that you shouldn't have a moment of joy or success in life ?
This kid didn't stumble into anything, you don't open a restaurant and server his menu just out of the blue and success doesn't come with money.

Why do I have a feeling that you can only be a really successful chef if you have a rich family with plenty of connections? I remember when I was 19, I was just as passionate and work driven as him. But I couldn't afford a free labor work because I needed to survive. I wanted to open my own place, but I didn't have a rich family. Not even sure if I could even open one if I'm living off with $14/hour while it's already hard to pay rent.
A lot of you guys would probably say, "oh stop being such a whiner" or "he works hard so he deserves it!" Tbh, I'm thankful for him. For his talents and passion, it's definitely being put into a good place. His family definitely admire him a lot. Plus, I always respect a chef that is full of passion. But in my reality, it's not as grand. Anyways, I'm still hoping to have a place on my own in the future. I'm saving up money for it. I'll update you guys in about 25 years or more.

He is talented but not inspiring. Look at all the world class chef, they don't become successful by asking their parent to open a restaurant for them when they are 19. If he really wants to open a restaurant, he should work his way up and get more experience before venturing into this business, restaurant business are very risky, do you know many restaurant closes yearly? experience is very important in restaurant business, he has never work as a head chef and run a kitchen let alone a restaurant, and he decides to invest in a restaurant serving ambitious and expensive food. The expenses are to keep the place operating are high, ask any businessman and they will definitely say it is not a good idea, but he gets away with it because his parent can afford to pay even if the restaurant failed. You can call me jealous but the fact is his success is mostly down to his wealthy background.

Be proud of your age and your profession, let people know that not all young people are silly millennials. Some of you young people are incredibly amazing. Wish you all the best for what looks like an adventurous future.

No doubt this guy has talent, but if he grew up in the middle class he probably would just be a normal chef right now. But probably in another 5-10 years he would have hit this business owning position regardless.

Don't care about your age, learn to do it now. Here's a super easy one for soft boiled eggs in a microwave (you gotta start somewhere). Get a small bowl, put water in, put 1 or 2 eggs in(without shell), cover it (super important), microwave for 50 secs to 1 min on medium. If not enough time to cook (still translucent) add in 10 secs. Scoop with a slotted spoon (a spoon with holes). Add salt/spices/soya sauce then eat.
When you get comfortable with the above, its time to fry eggs Sunny Side Up.
Put oil or butter (savory or sweet) and spread over the pan. If with butter, heat it on super low to melt the butter and spread it (just swirl the pan with your wrist).
Crack egg vertically on a flat surface, use fingers of both hands to separate the halves of the egg shell over the pan to put the eggs in. Heat egg with super low heat, add in salt & spices and cover it (a clear pan cover is better to see if the eggs are cooked). Usually cooks a little over a minute when all translucent egg whites are gone.

He essentially did what people do in Europe: choose a craft at a young age, and become proficient at it by 18/19. Not everyone is meant to go to university, at the end of the day, we still need good people cooking, building, plumbing, or even playing instruments. He is obviously passionate about what he does, and that's what we need more in the world.

Do what you love but don’t let it over take you. It only gets harder as you become more successful and then pressure to remain successful can become overwhelming and stressful AF. I love seeing the drive and passion you have at such a young age, but just remember to take time for yourself too. It’s so important and you will surely realize that down the road✌🏽.

Be self sufficient, be capable and earn your own.. 15 years, I slept about 4 or 5 hours a day and worked non stop. I slowed down now at 34 years old and I am so much more aware of what actually matters in life. Now; I work 4 days a week and spend as much time with my family and friends as I possibly can.

michael Thorn you never know. The owner of a catering company I worked with was in his kitchen open to close and cleanup 7 days a week the entire time I was with them. Everyone there told me he'd done that since the beginning 15 years ago. That varied from 12 to 18 hours a day. He bought the house next door so that he'd have time to sleep more.
While I was there I remember him taking two week long vacations... Even after he sold the business for a couple million dollars; he still stayed at least 10 hours a day as an employee and usually 5 or 6 days a week; at 60 years old!.
