Prices are high - but its understandable as this is Michelin Star restaurant that caters to well-to-do and wealthy patrons Regulars New Yorkers eat food near 28st /Lexington Avenue in Manhattan or Jackson Heights /Queens

*There is really nothing like the Indian food in this world. The spices, the flavors, the varieties, the diversity, the aroma, the taste, the abundance of vegan/vegetarian options - there is literally nothing that can even come close to the Indian food.*
Health inspectors are most bias against multi chain restaurants & sometime well known popular restaurants, they come atleast 2-3 times month while others once a year or 2.
more than a restaurant, i think these people working like there are in a reality show.... there are much better version of dosa with piping hot sambar that will be severed for lesser cost. and they desire more
I can't lie when he was talking about the "dishwashers" it looked like they had absolutely no idea who this dude was lol. Hope they're getting paid more then dishwasher wages for working the line.
Why bother about a hair when the French are drenching everything they cook in fatty butter. I'd rather see a hair in my food over fatty butter flavor. South Indian food is one of the healthiest in the world.
I thought this too but the tasting spoon was a different shape. The way the video was edited makes it look like its the same spoon, but I don't believe it is
South Indian ethnic flavor cuisine may be delicious, healthy with special spice blend! Cons: No staff head covered; burned cooking pots bottom! But, it is a great venture in NYC to experience S Indian flavor dishes!!
Tell me you've never eaten at an indian restaurant without telling me you haven't eaten at an Indian restaurant. Also, there are Singapore food hawkers that have stars. Being ignorant isn't edgy lol
Suresh, the chef de cuisine, prep chef, is the definition of locked in.
bro is the carry for sure

Love this guys energy
Agreed
beat me to it!
I dont

Love seeing the chef credit his guys. Great leadership and humility
Honestly, it seems fake. Maybe its the way he acts, but that guys no leader.
Why are the employees not excited when he says that!!!
5:43 bro in the back like "why tf he so happy he never like this" 😭😭😭
Yeah, something seems a bit off...

Yea, he's got those, I've told off my chefs at least twice a day kinda eyes.. Bet he's thrown plates..
Indians can be notoriously mean towards people lower in the social strata
big The Office energy.
Letting dish washers move up in the business to line cook is a win in my book.
Next step is unionize.

Went there in 2022 before they got the star. It was tasty!

Trust me this place will be the most authentic you'll ever find
well they didn't know what to do with all the spices they stole that's why
really appreciate the insight into live operations by chef kumar

Vijay is full of positive energy!
Amazing,I can feel his energy through my phone awesome job.
Perfection.
Amazing human being! ❤
Kudos to the Chef & his attributes ⭐️
Great going chef...keep shining
Absolutely delicious - love South Indian cuisine ❤
Nice! Congratulations!
The food looks amazing. But why are hair nets not being worn in the restaurant kitchen?

very true
Semma ya iruku po
Did he double dip?
Can’t wait to try this. Nathai sounds amazing!
Suresh is such a mood
This is so awesome, someday!! Appreciate the diversity in the kitchen as well .
When introducing the restaurant, I wish he pronounced 'Semma' how it would be spoken back in Tamil Nadu, rather than how it would be spoken in NYC
"being busy is not an excuse for mistakes" Badass line
Did he check his sleeve to see what time it is?
Suresh is the Indian lazlo cravensworth
Ohhh yeah baby 😂
not common for these BA videos show how they run expo. that's quite a skill

maybe cause they prob dont speak english well or they're just camera shy
So Michelin represent all human kinds yea?
Did he reuse the spoon he tasted with- around 4 min wtf....
LMAOOOOOOO I WAS SEARCHING FOR THIS COMMENT I AM SCREAMING
is Shultzyy watching this 😂. Not everything is slop.
Who eats at 5pm??
Looks delicious. Michelin stars are nonsense.
Nonsense they very well may be/are, but they are the reason they have 175 covers and not 60.
@CembaloMeister, fair point. Savvy business move.

just surprised that they dont wear hats. (I love indian cuisin)
They probably don't wash their hands either, to give you the authentic India experience.

Only Michelin star restaurant with no toilet lol

Why would they wear hats lol. Only sikhs wear turbans. It's not common for people to wear hats in india.
Am I trippin or did he just like the spoon of at 4:03 and put it back in the mixing bowl???
I thought this too but the tasting spoon was a different shape. The way the video was edited makes it look like its the same spoon, but I don't believe it is
The second spoon is clean and new. You can hear the first spoon being put in the sink it's just an edit.
Indian and Thai food are the most delicious and complex food on the planet. And, no, I'm not Indian or Thai.
Agree, and Mexican too. My three favorite cuisines
And not just tacos and burritos Mexican.. authentic Mexican dinners/lunches
I prefer Indonesian/Turkish/Iranian or Canadian Acadian cuisine.
So sad to see so many aluminum cooking vessels. 😢
Why
Please tell me that’s not the same spoon 😬
Lol it sure looked like it.
i was looking for this comment...lol ... scared i was the only one who thought the same thing.
looked clean on the way in the second time, might just be the way its cut?
Looks like a clean spoon on the 2nd dip

So basically if you make your dishes French style in tiny proportions with a huge price tag, you get a Michelin Star. nice.

did they wash their hands before making foods ?
You already know the answer to that

Enough about your mother.
I too appreciate all the hair in my food. Pure slop.
What's a hillbilly doing on a bougie cooking channel?
Im sure unclean, hairy food was a huge consideration in the notoriously unclean, hair loving Michelin star organization
