The best part about the series was that they showed that not all men are “against women”.
Dilbar and Shams’s characters were the glue. The way they silently supported what the Churails were doing, not being suppressed or made to feel low in any way despite being from simple backgrounds.
I think putting them up as “one of the Churails” was the best way to show that men don’t need to necessarily be against women. There are men who positively support females too without meddling in their affairs and becoming the “Alpha Male”.

It is quite gruesome and not everyone’s cup of tea. I needed breaks to digest the darkness of it. I did enjoy it but the profanities and graphics were unnecessary in places.
It’s very well made and every episode connects well with the next. Though the middle class representation is missing and it’s only talking about the fringes of society. The story was riveting indeed.

I binged the show in one go and then watched it again to notice so many Easter eggs in the second time.
The actors have done such a fantastic job. I have watched Sarwat, Yasra and Meher's work on Pakistani TV shows on Zindagi and I totally agree that their potential is curtailed so much by Pakistani TV censorship and the orthodox viewership. In this show, the actors were let loose and have flown high to the epitome of their acting potential. I couldn't believe Yasra is the same actor who played a meek and tormented typical character in Mann ke Moti. She has so much potential.
Even Omair Rana's very recent PKS showed him as such a caricature-villain and completely under-utillized, most of the scare was done by the whistle background music but his performance here was so subtle and layered.

As a Kashmiri, I am going to skip this regardless of how many rave reviews it gets because it is released on an Indian platform. I know that art has no borders but my money is not going to enter Indian economy and be spent on murdering my sisters and brothers in IIOK.

I wear hijab now and for a few seconds the use of the burqa did offend me but I stopped myself there. The fact that critical women's issues are being raised in this series FAR outweighs my offense or that little chip to my self-respect. I would encourage audience to broaden their minds and to look at this series from a holistic angle.

Progressive yet they did not break all loose...although much was implied but no kissing, nudity, sex etc was actually shown.
I did not mind the cramping of so many issues in one series as all this issues do contribute to the society dynamics. When so many characters are involved, so many issues will be encountered.
Feeling like another season could come since that kid who is now in london was never discovered.

my favorite characters were actually jugnu and sara, i loved their independent thinking, and seeing such characters for the first time was refreshing. I also liked yusra's acting (yashma gill take notes man, this is how your character should've been acted out) and in my opinion yusra did fantastic and of course sarwat did amazing as well. Also am I the only one that found batool and the police officer's track as really intriguing? Like, you'd think the last person who'd take an interest in a strongheaded murderous woman would be a police officer, but their chemistry was really amazing. He was not intimidated by a strong woman, but rather was attracted to the exact confidence that she exuded every minute. It kinda broke the barrier the elder adults can fall in love too instead of the young so-called love they show in dramas.

Sorry but as someone who lives in The West to me this show is all wrong. Yeah sure it's different for a Pakistani drama but it is essentially the story of four white women played by Pakistani actresses and set in Pakistan. The drinking swearing etc all been done so many times and much better by British and American and even Indian filmmakers. By equating feminism with drinking drgs and profanity you only serve to set back the women's movement in Pakistan and also disenfranchise the millions of Pakistani women to who feminism isn't about alcohol but getting an education or having a say over their lives. This is an elitist show for elitist viewers and sorry but feminism is about much more than being able to swear in English.

i agree completely re too much happening.. but i also think the writer/director may be thinking this may be their only chance to do something like this!! knowing audiences in both countries the back lash from India (for airing Pakistani content) or from Pakistan (for being so bold and using indian channels to air this!) .. there may be fear of outrage and fatwas.. so they thought better to get it all out, in an all or nothing series!! what an amazing creation though! hats off to everyone involved!!

Drama was written in Fantasy realm. Rich women with poor ladies trying to help - playing Robin Hood in a way. It’s nothing extraordinary. Looks like audiences is Indian urban rising upper middle class. With fake accent and drinking. Only Batool was good more ground character. Even storyline is from India’s film & dramas. Even what they were wear looked so artificial. Main lead Sara she was cheated by husband and him bowing to her. Don’t make sense. In reality drama Muqaddar shows more reality how rich husbands treat one. It’s not America where politicians are afraid of scandals. In Pakistan it’s like medal.

I watched Churail and felt like its exactly what India is giving to their audiance.
We have to decide if we want to stick to what we do best or in the name of competition, want to get lost in the mist.

I also noticed k bht zyada topics ko touch kiya hai.. but then again it was fast paced due to different topics... it was designed somehow like a anthology series... i found it totally amazing...

Totally agreed with Amna, they incorporated everything and that became a bit exhausting otherwise it was too good.

Just finished watching churails .Strong performances, good direction, and an intelligently written script . Really intriguing and full of suspense i would say. everything was so well connected and it was kinda unpredictable. but the dialogues were way too bold i think. all those galiyan and vulgur talks were i think unnecessary. unkay baghair bhi series achi hi thi. khair it was an amazing series overall i really enjoyed it. p.s i really like the way you carry yourself amna. you're so decent and cute.

Was it a slip of tongue? Hassan on Anurag Kashyap directing Saif Ali Khan's (Sartaj's) part. Actually, Anurag directed Nawazuddin's (Gaitonde's) part.

As you mentioned there were a lot tracks n issues, taqreeban sab kuch hi daal dya ta but... It was all connected.. Whether it be Jalwa, or Talent hunt or abortion.. Everything was so well connected and nothing seemed out of place tbh. One word for the team is WoW. ❤️

Churails was amazing, great story telling, superb performances. Just one thing bothered me,the episodes were lil long, and the last episodes were slower. I was like "yaar jaldi dikhao next kya hone wala hain"
Having said that,I loved Batool-Fawad love story ❤️
