Worked at BSD for a bit and had to board this line from Tanah Abang every working day. Great experience! Thankfully the place I worked at sucks so I don't have to commute there as often anymore.
On the service patterns, there are actually more than the standard four pairs, and RK-PRP, and RK-SRP you mentioned. There's actually the ultra rare TGS-PRP, SRP-PRP which each only has one assymetric trip a day. Other combinations are possible too, but not used. Ah Cisauk, the only station other than the intercity stations of GMR, PSE, BKS, and CKR in Jabodetabek where you can stay the night lmao. Well not at the station, but at the skywalk. But it's pretty great if you need to, which I did twice. It's not much, but it's weird it happened twice. Tigaraksa has a lot of empty lands beside it, it's unmarked but I really hope that it's DJKA/KAI's lands so that they could build train dipos on it. Like the only KRL dipos are in the Bogor line... Rangkasbitung..well there's an ongoing construction to, but the dipo is for the Lokal Merak trains. I really hope you will cover the Lokal Merak in a separate video, along with other local lines such as Pangrango, Siliwangi, Jatiluhur/Walahar, and CL Garut/Baraya. I have actually used both Pangrango-Siliwangi and Walahar-Garut to go to Bandung lmao. Oh of course, I hope you will also cover the weird daily cross-line services of MRI-TNG, MRI-RK which have one service each, and the three combined JAKK-BKS and JAKK-CKR.
@shindoride Oooooo yeah.......that's pretty good. How do you practice it ? U meet english speakers regularly? Got to practice it somehow ?!.... Do U write also ? I am JAKARTA born but have been living in the state for a while and hearing you speak. That's pretty good 👍 Keep it up....
I talk in English to some family and friends, I think it all started in kindergarten which is full English. But these days, most of my IRL interactions (especially in University) is in Indonesian.
I really wanna go like somewhere between in Rangkasbitung lines. But in case like i'm going to office from my home (bogor to cikini station). I always had several issues eventually like most of the train don't feel cool cause the AC didn't work well (sometimes i just feel the wind instead cool from the AC) I hope like 1-2 years from now, KRL commuter will be better in term of services especially if they wanna increase the fare
Sistem persinyalan harus pake Block-based, jangan kayak sekarang masih per stasiun… mana stasiun nya jauh-jauh, gimana frekuensi mau dinaikkan??
Berarti sinyal block seperti cikarang line dong?
I hope they make a extension of Tangerang Line to Serang, so Karawaci, Balaraja, and others had a train connection, and make train distance to Merak shorter and faster.
Your presentation style made me watch through a few Jakarta rail videos which I would have no knowledge about otherwise. To me, your city's rail density definitely deserves some elevated quad-track goodness like the Chuo Line or the Odakyu Line, not that it is cheap tho... Personal wish: More Japanese trains to shine there too hehe
rawabuntu is my home station, and there are a few updates i can give out regarding future developments in the area. the steep staircase connecting the arterial road to the station has been demolished, but it is being reconstructed along with an integrated bus station. from what i heard the bus will connect all the way to gading serpong, but i dont know if this is true or not. hopefully it'll stop by alam sutera because its very expensive to ride a gojek everyday to rawabuntu.
Cisauk is Also my Home station Lol- Also I Did have Encountered TM 6000 in Rangkas line Like a few weeks ago (More specifically 6030) And a School is having their Field trip there Too
Local station Kebayoran. I find the line great for connecting the suburbs to the main metro, but if you’re within the metro area itself like me, your closeness to intra city rail is only an illusion. I find trekking *10km* to the red line more worth my time.
You didnt even mention the gap between Citeras and Rangkasbitung (Longest gap between two stations in KRL Commuterline). Also its kinda weird that in this line, you cross the most borders between cities or regency. Starting at Central Jakarta then to South Jakarta then to South Tangerang then to Tangerang Regency then Bogor Regency then Tangerang Regency then Bogor Regency then Tangerang Regency then Lebak Regency then Serang Regency then Lebak Regency at Rangkasbitung
Ah, the Rangkas line. When I used to live with my uncle in RKS I rode this line every time I wanted to go home back in Bekasi (and occasional trip to AEON BSD, so yeah I frequently alighted at Cisauk). Never bothered to try the BSD Line bus tbh, I just relied on Gojek whenever I got at Cisauk in order to go to AEON, simpler that way 🤪. Fifteen to twenty minutes wait time might seem a bit infrequent too, but to me who remembered the time when the trains were simply more infrequently available, that feels good enough to me (then again I don't use this train for work commute so yeah...YMMV 🤪)
I mainly use these to either go to ComiFuro near Cisauk, or recently, to get to near Monas from my new kost. Going to ComiFuro? Great experience, especially considering how many people goes there, the very long (and relatively remote) range the line services, and when you have to experience going from Manggarai to Tanah Abang beforehand which **sucks**. Going to work? Oh boy. I mean, it's not the worst, but the more limited station isn't great. Using GoTransit there barely saves money and doesn't save on time, much less being convenient. I think it's only worth the hassle if your destination is more than one station away (and doesn't involve Tanah Abang - I just don't like that station). In comparison, I have used a bus to get to Cawang, then ride the train to Tebet, and then grab a JakLingko or Bus to KunCit because I like it better than waiting/dealing with 4B/5N buses. In short, it's great for long distances, but I can definitely see why there are bus routes to not deal with it.
I will in the "Transjabodetabek Tier List Video, Part 2" though I don't know when il be able to start making that. But in short, it's "alright" the eastern terminus is under a highway so you get weather protection and the bus tracking works. Off peak frequency isn't the best but most of the time it isn't every 30 minutes anymore.
the strangest line imagine your train is stop because of - spring bed - cow crossing rail - goat crossing rail - trees fall appart on rail - some kids play with kite haha
Rangkasbitung needs a MASSIVE infrastructure upgrade. It ran only 60-70 kph yet they shake worse than Cikarang Line ging 90, and closed block system meaning trains can NOT departure unless another train enters another station with signaling system
I agree, needs top speed increase to at least 80 km/h, ideally 100 but idk if track geometry allows that. TA - Parung section must run every 5 minutes at peak hour, only possible with signaling upgrades.
Mood about the bus stops not being used. Over here in Manila, we have quite a number of designated stops for jeepneys (our version of the angkot) and buses but almost no one uses them lmao, they just stop wherever they want. Good to see some TOD along the line but I'm more concerned about whether this "TOD" is actually well connected to the R line and other local bus and train services and also features commercial, office, and parks and the like, unlike the lifeless "TOD" we see in places like North America. Also find it a bit weird how places like malls and other bus stops take a skybridge to get to instead of being directly connected, but oh well.
Yeah the rail infrastructure is very old, so it gets surrounded by houses with narrow streets over time (at least I think thats what happened), so to give pedestrians easier access outside, they had to build all those skybridges.
Thats Sindo, Shindo here comes from my other channel, Shindo 7 that focuses on earthquakes. Shindo is actually the Japanese earthquake intensity scale.
Ah.. Rangkas line. 2023 every Saturday I would go from my kost near Palmerah to UMN. 6AM trains was fun and not dealing with BSD Link busses full of OCBC employees was also fun. Had to stop at QBig or Lulu or Greenwich to order ojol to UMN was not fun though. Why the fudge does Paramount have all these bus shelters all along Mendrisio but not a single bus there? Oh, it's because companies don't like sharing their stuff to rivals.
Paramount used to have a bus network a very long time ago, its terrible though, 1 hour frequencies and the lines don't even go to SMS making it worthless.
As a resident of Tangerang City, I declare this to be true . For me, this route is the route to return home rather than via the "brown" Tangerang route whose schedule was ruined by the airport train!
It's all impressive. But additional tracks should be build for the purpose of facilitating express trains. The current rolling stock used by PT KCI are not comfortable enough for long distances. Executive class trains should be used to cater passengers that want to pay for a quick and comfortable express train. Off course hauled by an electric locomotive.
Yeah, this line have slower speed than other line, I wonder maybe because there's too much curve tracks. I'm pretty surprise by that, because where I live in blue line, usually commuter line can go from 70-90km/h, but when I home-hunting in green line the speed is just 65-70km/h. Honestly, with that speed make me lost a patience a little bit, but maybe I still not get used to that train speed 😅
It might be the curves but Bogor line is also curvy and it manages 80 km/h. Based on what others have told me, maybe it's something to do with this line's outdated signaling.
Yeah, awful transit in Tanah Abang. From Sudimara in the morning, I always try to get the train that will enter Tanah Abang line 6 (1649, 1653, 1657), get in to specific door (train #2 last door) as last person boarding in. You'll get perfect spot in Tanah Abang, right in front of escalator. If I don't get the line 6, I'll try hard to get in to the other side, so boarding off will be easy. Only 2 tricks in Tanah Abang: get off as soon as possible or chill, stay in and get off late. I used to choose train #7 door #3 and take manual stairs, but I had a fight with someone bcs I got pushed by someone who wanna get in while I was gonna get off, so I pushed him back. We argued and cursed at eachother 😅 but I was in the right moment tho, like why did you rush to get in while so many people need to get off and the train won't depart in 13 minutes.
@@shindoride even worse on the weekend. During workdays, past 8 am already 'okay' but during weekend it's getting worse even right at noon. I believe R-line doesn't get "schedule reduction" at all during holiday to serve passengers
I'm laughing so hard when hearing you roast those housing developers by saying they are playing IRL city skylines 😂 one line with 1000 stories from ghost sightings all the way to a crazy lady dump a spring bed matress on the rail. Edit: i hope someday you'll get a chance to roast Jogja-Solo commuter line as well tho. Its a decent commuter line but with some absurd stations here and there along the line with a kinda questionable frequencies.
After I saw that Rangkasbitung - Merak route, my mind was like "KCI COME ON YOU CAN MAKE THIS LM INTO A F*CKING KRL LINE GODDAMN IT" Imagine you want to commute to Jakarta from Serang and Cilegon by KRL :V
My idea is that they think people prefer driving over public transport (true if you have to pick between driving and taking the once every 1-2 hour bus) And they think walkable cities don't make sense because Indonesia's too hot. Of course in reality people just take the most convenient and fastest mode, if they made wide sidewalks with trees/canopies and run the buses every 10 minutes, I think a lot of people will stop driving.
Even tho the trains run at 70ish kph, it feels like the trains about to take off just because the track quality can make you puke (seriously its horrible)
the BSD/Serpong part is so true, like imagine how easy commuting will be if the goddamn transport organizer actually starts using those bus stops

Very well tailored video about something crucial which I rarely look at, this was in my recommendation.
Terimakasih 🙏
I come across your channel, you speak fluently, been studied abroad?
Keep up the good work buddy.....
Thank you, but I study here in Tangerang, you can thank video games and youtube for my english skills.
@shindoride Oooooo yeah.......that's pretty good. How do you practice it ? U meet english speakers regularly? Got to practice it somehow ?!....
Do U write also ? I am JAKARTA born but have been living in the state for a while and hearing you speak. That's pretty good 👍
Keep it up....
I talk in English to some family and friends, I think it all started in kindergarten which is full English.
But these days, most of my IRL interactions (especially in University) is in Indonesian.
"Alright, this is my home station"
when I use Rangkasbitung Line, I always depart from there too
I really wanna go like somewhere between in Rangkasbitung lines. But in case like i'm going to office from my home (bogor to cikini station). I always had several issues eventually like most of the train don't feel cool cause the AC didn't work well (sometimes i just feel the wind instead cool from the AC)
I hope like 1-2 years from now, KRL commuter will be better in term of services especially if they wanna increase the fare
Sistem persinyalan harus pake Block-based, jangan kayak sekarang masih per stasiun… mana stasiun nya jauh-jauh, gimana frekuensi mau dinaikkan?? Masa saban pagi kita selalu dengar, announcement, keretaa masih belum bisa diberangkatkan, karena kereta sebelumnya belum masuk Pondok Ranji,,, what a joke,,,,😅
Berarti sinyal block seperti cikarang line dong?
Apa kai dan pemerintah nunggu mrt lebak bulus tangerang sekalian? Lumayan sih alsut akhirnya ada kereta yg deket, dan Bsd dapet express, win win
Definitely, the worlds second largest urban area needs the worlds second largest rail network, unfortunately right now it doesn't, by a huge margin.
rawabuntu is my home station, and there are a few updates i can give out regarding future developments in the area.
the steep staircase connecting the arterial road to the station has been demolished, but it is being reconstructed along with an integrated bus station.
from what i heard the bus will connect all the way to gading serpong, but i dont know if this is true or not. hopefully it'll stop by alam sutera because its very expensive to ride a gojek everyday to rawabuntu.
sometimes I get an idea in my head to take the train all the way to Rangkasbitung for fun on an off day.... But now I realized how far is it...
Good video dude!
Cisauk is Also my Home station Lol-
Also I Did have Encountered TM 6000 in Rangkas line Like a few weeks ago (More specifically 6030) And a School is having their Field trip there Too
Local station Kebayoran. I find the line great for connecting the suburbs to the main metro, but if you’re within the metro area itself like me, your closeness to intra city rail is only an illusion. I find trekking *10km* to the red line more worth my time.
So you use TJ to get from Kebayoran to Bogor Line?
@@shindoride either that or rideshare, depends on time lol. Or instead of the red line, the MRT is also pretty good for going north-south in town.
We need outer loop line, so we dont need pass by at tanah abang in order to stop at Bogor. Itu muter nya jauh banget
Shout out to the old KA Rangkas. 5k to feel like a cowboy. Highly recommended. Safety not guaranteed.
please review the new T11
I will in the "Transjabodetabek Tier List Video, Part 2" though I don't know when il be able to start making that.
But in short, it's "alright" the eastern terminus is under a highway so you get weather protection and the bus tracking works. Off peak frequency isn't the best but most of the time it isn't every 30 minutes anymore.
Can we have Jabodetabek stations Cat gangterism problem for next video?
Yes, once I get more cat videos
ah yes, the anomaly line.
from ghost stories to an old lady manage to take down the semi-fast trains on the line to matresses.
I love how you occasionally put stray cats residing at the stations
5:33 I like Serpong station because my grandmother lives there😊
the strangest line
imagine your train is stop because of
- spring bed
- cow crossing rail
- goat crossing rail
- trees fall appart on rail
- some kids play with kite
haha
Comifuro: *happened
Cisauk Station cleaning service guys seeing so many "beautiful girls" entering male toilet: Astaghfirullah
As a quote unquote beautiful girl myself I can only say hehe boi
😂
Everything west of Cisauk Station is considered a wild west on this line ngl
as someone who actually tried the line within the rush hour... yup!
this line is tokyo metro rush hour simulator...
9:45 correction: should be 10 times a week though
Longest commuter line
Rangkasbitung needs a MASSIVE infrastructure upgrade. It ran only 60-70 kph yet they shake worse than Cikarang Line ging 90, and closed block system meaning trains can NOT departure unless another train enters another station with signaling system
I agree, needs top speed increase to at least 80 km/h, ideally 100 but idk if track geometry allows that.
TA - Parung section must run every 5 minutes at peak hour, only possible with signaling upgrades.
"You will be fit enough to climb gunung gede"
well said sir, well said
Mood about the bus stops not being used.
You should do nambo next. The rock bottom of the krl but there's hidden gems there
I briefly talked about nambo branch line in the Bogor line video
Coba cek aplikasi Transjakarta , situ trackingnya udah relatif berfungsi
shindo is the news paper company right?
Oh, you can call those Cities:Skylines sessions a perfect example of URBAN SPRAWLING lol
Yep, though if you're gonna sprawl, better do it on a rail line than a highway
I want to try Rangkas Bitung-Merak
Have fun with that
As a resident of Tangerang City, I declare this to be true . For me, this route is the route to return home rather than via the "brown" Tangerang route whose schedule was ruined by the airport train!
Wait how frequent was the Tangerang line before the airport train existed?
Cool video
Thank you bro 😇
Bro i lived in BSD my whole life and i didn't know jatake and cisauk still counts as BSD
It's all impressive. But additional tracks should be build for the purpose of facilitating express trains. The current rolling stock used by PT KCI are not comfortable enough for long distances. Executive class trains should be used to cater passengers that want to pay for a quick and comfortable express train. Off course hauled by an electric locomotive.
now review the merak local trai-
Sudimara was my Nearest station from my house 😁
memang kereta api sekarang adalah salah satu transportasi paling mudah
Fun fact: Gading Serpong is closer to Tangerang station (Tangerang Line) than to Cisauk station
Yes, if you live in the parts North of SMS.
Next Yogyakarta Line please
Il need to visit Yogyakarta again for that
pls cover the cikarang line! the stations are better in my opinion
Yes, and some would be quite interesting to talk about too (Kampung Bandan)
the line for elite area like bintaro and BSD
Yeah, this line have slower speed than other line, I wonder maybe because there's too much curve tracks. I'm pretty surprise by that, because where I live in blue line, usually commuter line can go from 70-90km/h, but when I home-hunting in green line the speed is just 65-70km/h. Honestly, with that speed make me lost a patience a little bit, but maybe I still not get used to that train speed 😅
It might be the curves but Bogor line is also curvy and it manages 80 km/h. Based on what others have told me, maybe it's something to do with this line's outdated signaling.
that's so tired for used KRL from Tanah Abang Station to Rangkasbitung Station
Yep, but I didn't do it all in one go, one day I did Cisauk-Tanah Abang, other day I did Cisauk-Rangkasbitung.
It takes about 2 hours to travel on the Green Line
oh guy ur funny... keep up the good work!
"Dead-end Swamp" sounds, pretty cool 🙄
Kalo diperpanjang sampe Merak kira2 apa pantas di sebut Commuter Line 😅, belum soal ke Karawang 😂
Its kinda brutal even on sunday, I tried it a few months ago and there's a bit of shouting between people trying to get off and on the train.
After I saw that Rangkasbitung - Merak route, my mind was like "KCI COME ON YOU CAN MAKE THIS LM INTO A F*CKING KRL LINE GODDAMN IT"
Imagine you want to commute to Jakarta from Serang and Cilegon by KRL :V
why do developers make car centeic cities, when the had blank space to begin with
My idea is that they think people prefer driving over public transport (true if you have to pick between driving and taking the once every 1-2 hour bus)
And they think walkable cities don't make sense because Indonesia's too hot.
Of course in reality people just take the most convenient and fastest mode, if they made wide sidewalks with trees/canopies and run the buses every 10 minutes, I think a lot of people will stop driving.
Try the Cikarang Line, the Fastest Line in the Commuter System.
I've tried it already, the whole loop section+the line until Bekasi.
Sudimara gang rise up!!
Kucingnya lucu bang
1:13. HI ✨✨
Even tho the trains run at 70ish kph, it feels like the trains about to take off just because the track quality can make you puke (seriously its horrible)
Parung panjang rumah ku
oh yes please
