@@douglasherron7534 Personal belief is irrelevant here. In 1835 the British empire took out a loan of 20 million pound sterling to buy back the freedom of every enslaved man, woman and child within it's borders by simply paying out their owners. That represented 5% of the empire's GDP at the time. And the loan wasn't repaid until 2015. Let me repeat that - until 2015. No other nation in the history of mankind has done anything of the like before or since. These are all documented, verifiable historical facts.

The Blockade of Africa: began in 1808 after the United Kingdom outlawed the Atlantic slave trade, making it illegal for British ships to transport slaves. Between 1808 and 1860 the British captured 1600 slave ships and freed 150,000 slaves.
The other obvious inconvenient truth is that everyone bought black slaves from African tribes who already owned them. Africa made a lot of money from the slave trade and didn't want it to end.

Brilliant job by Konstantine Kissin, not allowing that awful moderator to stop him making his points regarding slavery. He just completely ignored her as she desperately tried to speak over him and have some git talk whose points she would agree with, and he kept talking and made his points, which were spot-on historically accurate. As for his aim of educating those ignorant loudmouths in the audience who were, like the moderator, trying to shut down his speech, people like that are pretty much uneducatable. And you can't have a proper debate with those types. Kissin absolutely stood his ground. First class job!
