I am from Pakistan, Fatima Bhutto comes from a wealthy feudal family in Pakistan, her grandfather made an alliance with the army and came into power, her dad was labeled a terrorist and shot dead in front of his own house, while her aunt was prime minister of Pakistan, her family is in power since last several decades in the province of Sindh, in Pakistan still that Province is crap, her grandfather party is corrupt from top to button, all the people her family is surrounded with are feudal lords and still practice slavery, The only reason she is not in Pakistani politics is that her aunt 'Benazir Bhutto' and uncle "Asif Ali Zardari" took away everything and throw them in oblivion, but she only sees in justice in the west. she can't even step foot in Pakistan and criticize anything. Yet she is sitting here and talking about justice around the world, without uttering a word about the society she came from, Hypocrisy is Amazing the West empowers her, which she hates most. The West has huge problems but it is far better than the alternatives we have.

We can not let that defeat our culture ! ( Absurdly , we in the west are responsible for being so weak in that WE allowed this obvious danger to happen to us . ) I pray that both western folks and Muslim folks learn to guide and teach each other the benefits of western society and the freedoms it brings ... You know what this debate reminded me of? An old soviet anecdote:
An American and a Soviet meet.
They start arguing about which country is the most free.
    The American says:
“America is the freest country. I can go to the White House and say that Reagan is a fool.
Nothing will happen to me for that!”
    The Soviet replies:
“So what? I can also go to the Red Square and say that Reagan is a fool. And nothing will happen to me either!”

Qatar is also the 2nd largest funder of Hamas so the audience bitching about western narrative is the heaviest of irony: why don't they ask the qatari leadership about the billions transferred to Hamas why it didn't moderate the Hamas leadership to avoid october 7th?! either they taken for fools or they're complicit.

How ever, I will say it is not the only issue, the social welfare state has not just drawn in millions of migrants that become a burden on the tax payer but has also created several generations of lazy natives who rely on the state but should they be motivated to get a job, they are not competing for those jobs with their local peers anymore, but the entire world.

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to be enlightened! Today, we bring you the sage wisdom of Abdulaziz and Fatima, two bright-eyed students from Qatar, here to set the moral compass of the decadent West straight.
Fresh from their first semester at Oxford, paid for by their oil tycoon fathers, these champions of virtue are ready to tackle the West's ethical shortcomings. Armed with lattes and MacBooks, they've embarked on a crusade to educate us on the finer points of morality.
Watch in awe as Abdulaziz, between sips of his ethically-sourced flat white, lectures on workers' rights. Pay no attention to the fact that his family's summer home was built by migrant laborers working in questionable conditions. That's irrelevant to his profound insights!
Marvel at Fatima's passionate discourse on gender equality, delivered from the comfort of her luxury apartment. Her driver waits patiently outside, ready to whisk her away to the next demonstration. Who says you can't fight the patriarchy in Prada?
Our dynamic duo is horrified by the West's materialism, frequently discussing it over caviar brunches and champagne. They're not afraid to call out Western hypocrisy, right after they finish their shopping spree on Oxford Street.
So gather 'round, you misguided Westerners! Let Abdulaziz and Fatima guide you to the moral high ground. Never mind the irony - it's merely a Western construct they've risen above.
Remember, folks: there's nothing quite like a lecture on ethics from those who've never had to wrestle with the complexities of the real world. Thank you, Abdulaziz and Fatima, for your priceless contribution to our moral education!

I don't believe that what Konstantin started about slavery is fundamentally true though it is true history. Removal of slavery was made possible by an individual revolution (we as people needed 80% of human resources in order to sustain life), that in turn made WW1 and WW2 possible and I would remind everyone that Brittn was the lead contestant in the arms race. And all the great powers were preparing for war. It was a time of opportunity.

As an Irish woman even I can give credit where credit is due.
And the brits not only ended slavery in many lands either through force or by putting themselves in debt to do so, they also had one of the shortest periods of engagement in the act of slavery compared to most other countries and cultures.
Yes they did a lot of horrible things throughout history, or rather whatever regime was in power at that time period did those horrible things, the people that came after put a stop to it.
They also did quite a few amazing things to be proud about.
I think what’s important to us today should be the current regimes and how they treat people. It’s good to know your history and learn from it. But you shouldn’t dwell there.

And yet we are able to live side by side in relative peace, even though there was active terrorism on both unionist and nationalist sides within my lifetime.
