Enjoy the video! I know many will wonder why we would even consider Whinny adoptable - she is not bonded with Willow/Xena, they simply get along. We can do a separate video explaining the difference - let us know if you'd like to see that!
@@rhfarmstables First of all I would like to say what an incredible job you do with the horses. I enjoy watching your videos. I would love to hear the difference between being bonded vs getting along. That's why I watch your videos, to learn about horses. You are a good teacher with a wonderful attitude.
If she got is adopted, she gives me the feeling that she will need to be surrounded by others horses, a herd... Thank you for taking such a good care of Beautiful Winnie 💙💙
From a fellow equine owner/lover: You do an incredible job with all of your horses. Well done, once again! She is just one of the lucky horses that she was taken in by your rescue and not one that isn't able to devote the time, energy and 24/7 care that you give each rescue equine!
You are truly a miracle worker! Good job! I Don't have the words to describe how wonderful your courage and tenacity are and how precious it is to see you helping these horses. Thank you!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Are you trying to feed a horse or a cat? 😂 She sounds like a couple pretry princess kitties I've had! Lol. Those difficult personalities are just as precious though. Thanks forr all you are doing for these beautiful animals!
She looks absolutly stunning. You have done such a wonderful job caring for her. Sadly I live in Germany otherwise I would have adopted her straight away. I have two oldies of nearly 29 years. My heart has a soft spot for older horses even though it is a full time job taking care of them and their special needs. I also feed my horses twice a day on the slobber feed because of course their teeth have worn down with age and even though they eat hay it's not being indigested like in a younger horse so we make sure they are getting their calories through other ways of feeding. Once an older horse loses weight it's very hard for them to gain it again. Older horses are always so grateful for everything and they seem to enjoy hanging out with their humans more. I am praying she will find the most loving home and also some other oldie friends she can hang out with ❤❤❤
You‘ve done such a great job with her, and while it‘s obvious you cannot keep all rescues, won‘t it traumatise her being taken away from her „herd“ with Willow and Xena?
Truly miraculous recovery!! I didn’t dare to hope when you first got her but as time went on the positive signs began to show and I think we were all rooting for wonderful Winnie 😍 Well done you have done such an amazing job it’s hard to believe she’s the same horse 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow. Just WOW !! I remember watching the first video when you went to get her !!! And it’s truly a miracle from where she was at - at her age !! I could see how pretty she is/was then and I knew with weight she would be gorgeous and I’m not wrong BUT only because you guys made this possible !!! Thank you for saving her life !!!!! ❤️💯🐴 PS I still can’t believe she’s 32 !! And with more weight I think she could possibly hold a light right rider bare back for about 20-30 min. Or maybe not at all. I’d be happy just to have her tho
She looks so good now! When you first got her she looked like an emaciated pantomime horse; she was so thin in the middle (and I guess muscle atrophy in the back as well) that it looked almost as if the front and the back end weren't properly connected. I think her head has also filled out and her eyes don't look so protruding anymore. I know arabians have dished faces anyway, but hers looked so exaggerated when she was super skinny. It is so good to see her running around, even if it makes your life a tiny bit more inconvenient. :D You've done an amazing job!
I've ridden older horses and they are awesome! They have so much personality and are super smart. It can be hard for some older horses to keep their weight on for various reasons.
Amazing transformation!! Kudos to you all! I've been drawn to Whinny since her Day One video at your farm. You've brought back her lovely Arabian features and floaty gait and people-centered nature. I hope someone who feels like I do will see this and be in a position to give her a good home. Thanks for bringing her to this condition, mighty fine for an old lady.
Oh my gosh! She looks so much better!! Another trick is , don't take the halter. Take 1 side of a hay bale string in your pocket & go out. My 2 wenches never caught on! lol
RH Farm Rescue: You folks have done a very good job of getting her (Whinny) in better condition. I've been watching for months now. Is there a reason you are keeping Whinny in the same large corral (mini pasture) as the Mare & her foal? It seems the mare does not like Whinny. Looks like Hurricane Helene missed you folks (Yay!).
I'll just say something from an OLD person's point of view. (I'm not ancient---but I'm probably at least 30 years older than you are) I'm no "horse person", but I am an "animal person", all my life...and raised kids, seen a lot of my family and friends die over the years. When an animal is sensitive, and they perceive how frail and fragile they have become---it's not a Big Deal to let go and die. And, as a human being, I've had health issues that also brought me to that place of facing mortality...it was not fearful, it was about Acceptance. YOUNG PEOPLE are all about "saving" everybody and helping them to LIVE LONGER----but, it one's usefulness is done, and those that love you are gone...what are you living for? You've witnessed some really unusual things with this particular horse. Frankly, in addition to your attention and kindness (and energy) she rediscovered a new reason to stay here on Earth through Willow and her foal. I'm just mentioning it---that she might just grieve herself into crossing over if you send her on. Clearly this is an emotional horse, and the security she has found in Willow, especially, is more important to her than FOOD. Just sayin'. There, I'm done now.
We appreciate your perspective. We would only move Whinny to the perfect home, and take the transition slowly. She will always have a home here if needed.
If Willow is Winnie's "sister" even moving her away slowly can still create a broken heart. Arabians are super sensitive to change and once they give their heart to their chosen, leaving can cause reversal. I have raised and rescued Arabians for over 40 years. Winnie seems more tender than most. I hope you will keep her. ❤
I would think she would do best where she has other horses to keep her stimulated and continuing to keep her weight up. Great job in finding the key to her rehabbing. So is Willow Winnie's actual mom?
She is a beautiful horse! When she has gorgeous movements. If she is 32 she could have been a show horse. It bothers me that her previous owners allowed her to deteriorate like that. Heartbreaking! She needs other horses. Can you make sure she has that with whoever adopts her? Good job saving her. Thank you.
We will only place her if the perfect home comes along! She was kept as a backyard horse, no shows even though she is purebred - we love watching her move.
Whinny is very bonded to Willow and Zena so separating her from them may be very traumatic for her. Have you considered just letting her stay with them?
If she is 32 years old why not just keep her? It will be hard to adopt a horse at that age. Also she doesn't want to get caught because she is an Arabian. She has chosen you to be with no one else. I'm sorry for being so candid but, she needs to stay there and live out her days.
Can't agree there - horses are typically vaccinated only for diseases that are fatal. Domestic kept horses are too much at risk for fly and mosquito borne illness
@@katedaphne4495 In my lifetime vaccinations have saved hundreds of millions of lives - people and animals. Terrible viral diseases like Polio, Smallpox have been eradicated. I was at infant school in the early 1970s with a girl who had contracted Polio and she was badly crippled as a result. If you have ever been to the African continent and seen the effects of a disease like polio on the human body because vaccination programmes weren't part of healthcare, you just would not say that. 😔
@@3232siobhan I agree with you 100% and as a result believe in compulsory vaccination for all serious childhood diseases. Adults can make their own choices. Here, in the Netherlands, there are some very conservative Protestant groups who do not believe in vaccination and as a result, over the decades, quite a few of their children have caught wholly preventable childhood diseases. In many countries these diseases have only disappeared because enough of the population was vaccinated. Younger people than me (I am now 69 years old) seem to be unaware of that. She's probably really scared you'll put a blanket on her. She already has a warm coat of her own.
She isn't scared of the blanket - we had no issues until we had to give her that injection
