That's laying it on a little thick don't ya think ? Hes a great designer and engineer no doubt but imo hes not on the mount Rushmore of gun designers. Hes not in the same class as some of those other guys you listed. The AK is on the mount Rushmore of battle rifles though so hes got that going for him...which is nice.
drtrolish Firstly: Who cares about Mount Rushmore other than Americans? Secondly: The AK isn't a battle rifle; it's an assault rifle. Thirdly: AK47, AKM (most common assault rifle on planet Earth), RPK, PK, AK74, AKs-74u, Saiga, AK-100 series, AK12, and from what I understand the Romanian PSL DMR is technically a Kalashnikov design because it's essentially an enlarged AK or RPK or some such thing. That's all simply from memory. With that said, no, I don't think I'm laying it on a little thick.
SChrisSD It's not like Mikhail Kalashnikov came out of nowhere and took credit for the AK47, then disappeared into obscurity. Ever since he was injured during WWII, he was working on firearm designs. I believe his first prototype was an SMG, which is understandable because that was pretty much the standard automatic firearm of the day, far more common than LMGs and CERTAINLY more common than this newfangled concept of assault rifles or 'sturmgewehrs'. The USSR wanted an assault rifle chambered for the 7.62x39 cartridge, there were quite a few designs sent in for trial testing. Obviously, Kalashnikov's won, and entered mass production in 1949 if I recall correctly. It was then improved in 1959 or so as the lighter and cheaper AKM. He also designed the RPK, the PK and PKM, AK74 (Although he reportedly wanted to stick with 7.62x39), RPK-74, AKs-74u, the Saiga, and towards the end of his life, contributed to the new AK12 which is a design that seems to be as good or better in just about every way to the M4A1. Possibly not in weight, but the difference there would be negligible, it wouldn't be in pounds. The AK or RPK design was also beefed up to make the Romanian PSL, apparently. I understand the SVD-63 however is a unique design, with no parts commonality with Kalashnikov's work. I'll also point out that, as far as the STG44 is concerned, the AK47 was lighter, and its 7.62x39 cartridge is hotter than 7.92x33, not to mention of course, it's far easier to produce. The newer (and most common assault rifle on Earth) AKM reduced the weight by a couple pounds. If I recall correctly, an unloaded AKM weighs as much or less than an unloaded M16A1.

Naw, I would have to disagree. In a warfare situation, I would definitely take my AR-15. Far more accurate and has great distance. I would be lucky to even have 2" groups at 200m with an AK47.
I don't want to start the "AK vs. AR" battle....but man those 7.62x39 rounds hit really hard. I've got both the AR and the AK and when I shoot the AK and hit the ground, dirt and mud fly up 20 feet, but when I do it with my AR it's a very small amount of debris that fly's in the air. It just seems the 7.62x39 round is a much superior round as far as initial stopping power goes. Also....I understand that looking at the ballistics of both the 5.56 and the 7.62 they seem to be identical....but man, I love the 7.62x39.
The 7.62x39 is a good round and it will certainly put and keep a man on the ground, but the 5.56 round, to me, is the more sensible round. The 7.62 round is less accurate at ranges, while the 5.56 keeps its accuracy and slows down, causing more trauma and blood loss for the person on the receiving end, notwithstanding the fact that the The 7.62 has a greater range and is stronger than the 5.56 round at more reasonable distances, say half of its near kilometer effective range. The 5.56 round is lighter and more compact, allowing you to carry more of it.
Oliver O'Keafe I agree with that 100%. Especially on accuracy. I believe within 100 yards or less the 7.62 would have more initial knockdown power. The 5.56 is greater at 300-600 yards. The 7.62 is pretty much useless out to 500 or 600 yards. Just my opinion....I have no ballistic stats to back that up. One thing is for sure....both rounds are devastating within 200-300 yards no matter what.
+jtguns88 when 5.56 hits you - on 150-200 m you could easily survive but when 7.62 hits a soldier he is with out a hand or make hudge whole in a stomach or chest - trust me -soldier from ex Yugoslavia

You are cool, man) Thank you for your tribute to my great country-fellow Kalashnikov, who really was a great man and constructor. Probably you'll be surprised to know that he had lived under very modest conditions until his death. He'd lived in a small apartment and without any material preveleges. All he'd had was great honor and respect from all over the world. PS: If you had fired in a full auto mode, it would have been way faster) But I know that civil guns with such a mode are illegal...
someone communism gave him five state prizes, quite large. but he rejected the consumer attitude and lived the humble life of a respected person. there are people who respect and honor are more important than consumer goods. in the modern world such people are looked upon as fools. and under communism there were many such. your reasoning about the communist system is ridiculous, like the arguments of a foolish capitalist measuring the welfare of hamburgers and bottles of beer
Jerome Hubacher yeaa the ak is rly awesome and maby on long range is not soo good but some people say the ak in full spray is a shit gun but if you shoot like one bullet per shot its rly precisely soo i doent know rly what to say in mi oppinion the gun is just perfect (sry four bad english ) :D
That's true, I wish they had done the test with a full auto ak so that it would be a bit more like for like.. Although the AK's 7.62 is a more demanding round to shoot as far as the amount of charge in every round goes.
fitnik2 How is that inaccurate? The sound is usually recorded by real life sounds, as-well as other details. The only thing that always differs is the recoil, which is understandable. When I joined the army I was actually surprised how accurately video games simulate guns. You don't understand how much effort they put into video games. And it's not just about guns. It can be cars, planes and more. (Pilots actually play in a computer simulation before they fly)

*How to convert a AK into a **_Flamethrower!_* 🔥
_First you fire 700 rounds, and the conversion is complete!_

RIP Kalashnikov, your arms have provided honest and innocent people protection from the imperialist pigs.
not enough baby
Edward Wright They are tools. They can be used for good or for evil, but you have to respect the ingenuity of Kalaschnikow.
its a shame that most people will remember him as a monster, but us gun lovers who understand his genius will remember him as a legend.
They dont know that even without the Ak-47 villains would just find a substitute weapon.
he was a true patriot to his country, even after nearly being killed on battle he spent his life developing a weapon that would give his comrades the advantage on the battlefield and continued to improve it time and time again. you cant pay for that kind of loyalty.
"it's on fire!!"
*NOT ON FIRE*
Hans Dampf look closer. It was on fire.
Casey Flentye it’s on fire. No. It’s ready to fire
"like new, less than 1k round thru, asking 850$"
Good tribute and nice Swedish M90 camo.

I took a shot of vodka in memory of Kalashnikov
I took 5
i took a bottle
i took a costco vodka bundle pack
+UNIDENTIFIABLE COMEDY You win
i took 16
I was expecting full auto
Gun restrictions in the US :/
No you can still buy them but its very costly for a automatic weapons permit
yep
nobody cheaped out it takes time and energy to get ahold of a full auto AK and im sure he wanted to do film it that day not a week later.

He will be miss, but he will not be forgotten. Thank you Mikial Kalashnikov. You will always be a legend of your very own AK Rifle 🙌
R.I.P Mr.Kalashnikov, a man who gave the word a beautiful, simple and dead design for a great battle rifle, you will be missed
For sale a slightly used AK,lol
hahahaha yeah, if you don't want to pay a grand for an AK, this is the for you.
***** Heat tempered barrel, as well LOL
Field tested

Like new, only one range session.
Your finger will fall apart before that AK does.
RIP Kalashnikov.
R.i.p. Kalashnikov, your rifle will forever be used and your name will forever be in history
RIP kalashnikov. you will be missed
No he wont
Toxix Fuck off
@@toxixbob8375 he deserves respect. I, my self as a commie, do respect him. I agree about he was part of the Soviets, regretting his rifle to be used by them. He was the good Soviet.
Mr.Mugger say rip to Hugo Schmeisser he made the gun this is why the ak looks a loot like the StG44
47 shots of vodka on his name
RIP
sounds great
74 as an addition
RANDOMNATION! Don't forget the 100 series!
GamerGab007 you would be dead lmao
someone's gonna find this place in several years with a metal detector and think it was a war ground LOL
Landon Keene no. They won't, because the nuclear war will wipe out everyone, and the earth won't be habitable for at least 2000years.
Dusan Acimovic lol but 2 weeks after the blast it starts decreasing extremely fast. sure it lasts long but that doesnt mean its going to stay lethal for that amount of time

I love how you just water board your ak without a second thought.
Oh man I want one! Merry Christmas Eric!
9:01 you can see embers fly off because the grip's actually on fire where he's holding it.
Покойся с миром, товарища.
R.I.P to the man that made such a legendary gun
As a follower of St. Browning I tip my hat at the patriarch of the Eastern orthodoxy St. Kashnikow. RIP
The old AK47 sounded nothing like this. Good job valve :-)
Lmao
Frisbee Follower 😂😂
Please explain what you mean by this? Isn't it the ammo and length of barrel that determines the sound?
Valve never changed the Ak47 barrel.
Then it's not supposed to sound like this.
im disappointed, what i expected: TRAAAATATATATATATATATATATATATATATAAAAAAA
what i got: ta .. ta .. ta .. ta .. ta .. ta .. ta :(
ikr
Pentazemin7 you're the dumb ass, this guy is trying to say he was expecting the bump fire to be faster, hell I can pull the trigger faster on a 45 black hawk. This guy was slow at emptying the mag because he has a slow finger
+Charlie Manson Watch his ar15 video and say he has a slow trigger finger
Andrew Butcher already did. He has a slow trigger finger.
+Charlie Manson his finger was sore, he had to switch fingers several times
I'm almost certain that with all the channels I sub to I'm on some type of watchlist lmao
All real patriots are on a watchlist nowadays. Just accept it, they won't do shit 😂
Rofl same
I was waiting for the wooden part to burst into flame, lol
Damn, 94 years old he's as tough as his creation. RIP.
Great video.
Thanks for sharing.
someone communism gave him five state prizes, quite large. but he rejected the consumer attitude and lived the humble life of a respected person. there are people who respect and honor are more important than consumer goods. in the modern world such people are looked upon as fools. and under communism there were many such. your reasoning about the communist system is ridiculous, like the arguments of a foolish capitalist measuring the welfare of hamburgers and bottles of beer
Damn, 700 Rounds and no malfunction? I know what my first gun is!
Mines will be a 1911 my dad owns one we put 1k rounds through it so far and it hasn't died
Cheeser The Lego Guy ya,fuck getin hit by .45
***** 74u
Cheeser The Lego Guy No kidding. Capable of shooting through Kevlar vests and able to bring down a helicopter.
Well IMO I think the russian federation improvises on the ak model. I don't think a country would keep an old model and not upgrade it more
KALASHNIKOV the best gun ever !
+MARIO Power in COD
+SolidTube911 hahaha sure
Jerome Hubacher yeaa the ak is rly awesome and maby on long range is not soo good but some people say the ak in full spray is a shit gun but if you shoot like one bullet per shot its rly precisely soo i doent know rly what to say in mi oppinion the gun is just perfect (sry four bad english ) :D
+Jerome Hubacher Sounds like you need to change your laws.
There is no best or worst weapon in the world, stop being absurd.
When he did this with an AR the barrel blew open.
Nothing like an AK
And the AR was firing full auto nonstop with 800+ rounds
That's true, I wish they had done the test with a full auto ak so that it would be a bit more like for like..
Although the AK's 7.62 is a more demanding round to shoot as far as the amount of charge in every round goes.
Juan Galvis You can't fire a 7.62 fully auto and expect to hit anything.
RPK magazines
Classless System With the Scar-H you can!!
the amount of people here that get their gun information from video games is really annoying
arma 3 ;p
super annoying
It's a good way to receive information in an entertaining way.
because it's very inaccurate
fitnik2 How is that inaccurate? The sound is usually recorded by real life sounds, as-well as other details. The only thing that always differs is the recoil, which is understandable.
When I joined the army I was actually surprised how accurately video games simulate guns. You don't understand how much effort they put into video games.
And it's not just about guns. It can be cars, planes and more. (Pilots actually play in a computer simulation before they fly)
You are the only one who does this . Bravo sire .
You know? Mikhail was a philanthropist who actively condemned the atrocities committed by his gun. We was a real man.
Put all the politics aside. Mr. Kalashnikov was a great engineer and a good, peaceful humble person.
We miss you Kalashnikov, Rest In Peace.
Wow I didn't no you a shoot that many times with that gun but thank you for your services and thanks for the vid man 🙏
Children in Africa could have eaten those bullets.
+chriscos123 Children in All world eaten bullets from AR-15 every day

this joke that I'm seeing a lot on TH-cam is getting very old quick and very stupid . its not even funny. its not funny because it doesn't even make any sense . its just stupid .
+Jayme Pie I'm sorry i disturbed your med schedule.
Best rifle ever made!
Whoa tony, I wouldn't go that far.
killermanSAd tbh he is right
true! but could have been nice to shoot it at full auto
not even close
ArtisanTony 223
You need full auto for this one , lol.
Good going Eric.
Just seeing how the dirt kicks up makes me really realize that i dont want to be on the other end of that thing
Ak's are better than many other modern assault rifles, such releability, great firepower, too much strong against dirt, mud, etc.
Gill 874 aks are way more reliable then a ar15 and has a more powerful cartridge
@@varenheath9282 Nope. Go watch some experiments on youtube my guy. The AR-15 performs as well as the AK when it comes to reliability.
Shoulda brought out a full auto AK
Wowwwww.... I have never ever seen in my whole life and in my 16 years of service in police department this kind of firing of 700 rounds at a time. Its really really amazing and I am so glad and impressed after seeing this. As a member of Police Force, I can easily feel and judge that its firing power is reducing after every magazine, really its an amazing weapon ever build in our history. Hats off to Sir Mikhail Kalashnikov. He was really a great man of history.

this gun is semi auto,it is his finger that is getting tired.
Thats the way to honor the legends ! great work mate !

700 rounds and 0 jams
Great Serbian machine gun
the AR did that too most guns that aren't aks won't malfunction either if it's kept clean but the ak will fire wether it's jammed with mud or a tank has run over it not any others I know that do that
First cock jammed lol
Dominic rached
Fault of the shooter. He did not pulled until the end first time.....
AK never jams
Спасибо, за отличное видео. За уважение к великому конструктору оружия.
That trigger load was getting heavy😂😂😂
R.I.P Mikhail Kalashnikov i hope to be know for the same innovation as you someday im studying up in machining school and gun knowledge to make my own design you where truly an inventor
Wow, how many Americans died of AK-47 in the past 69 years? Such a powerful hit and sound, must have scared the shit out of them in close range. Salute to comrade Kalashnikov!!!!!!!!
M-16 would have melted long ago.
I watched that video on shooting 800 rounds through an ar-15 it lasted until the blowback tube blew. I would prefer an ak over an ar however .
Kalashnikov would be ashamed of you...
Except not. They literally did a video on this and the AR15 lasted longer than the AK.
***** I'm not talking about the AK, I'm talking to the OP.
starving kids in Africa could have eaten that ammo
eatmy butthole *Child soldier
Barry Porter lmao
eatmy butthole Nah, we have kalashnikovs under our beds. Their are so many in Somalia, left over by Russians during the 60's.
James Watson I'm sure kids in Africa are eating plenty of ak ammo 😬
I believe a lot of kids in Africa eat better meals than your chidren.
Doubles as another solid review for the M92 PAP. I have 2 of them, and they both just run. Never had a single issue with either. Can't ask for much else for under $600
A fitting way to honor Mr. Kalashnikov, well done!
2:46 - epic snot dripping.
and keeps going like a boss
Lol I'm still trying to figure out why you were paying attention to his nose...
The smell of burnt sulphur will do that to ya xD
Даже в Америке помнят Великого Калашникова М.Т.!!! Молодец мужик!

The AK47 is probably the most known name in gun history. You are a legend and I hope the quality of your masterpiece is carried on just like you created it!!💯
Who could dislike a video of constant nonstop shooting??! Those are the best videos!
Coming soon: Lightly used AK pistol for sale on Gunbroker
I love the design of the AK. It's just a beautiful gun.
2014: There goes $200 in ammo
2023: There goes $3500 in ammo
its overwhelming to see how much ammo can actually be used up in such a small amount of time.

My friend, I have enjoyed your videos for a while. Thanks for all your work.
May Mikhail Kalashnikov rest in peace and not be judged for the stupid things often done with his design. And may those of us who are freedom-loving and respectful continue to enjoy his creations for years to come, in spite of our idiot politicians.
