I appreciate Konami for one thing, at least their honest. Every other game publisher twists themselves into knots to pretend they all don't just churn out gambling simulators on a yearly basis while Konami just said fuck it, we make gambling machines now and the hell with video games.
Hell that's a great perspective to be honest. I've heard rumbles that they may be outsourcing their IP's over to other dev teams, Might end up with better games during the long run. Don't think they handled 2015 well at all with the public. Perhaps if they'd mention slowing down with gaming in general and let their current projects finish up instead of taking out multiple teams besides the PES guys in general we'd not have had the outcry they had. I'll always have a soft spot for them & I think that's really hurt them long term. Imagine nintendo had done something like that? Pretty unimaginable to fans no? That's how people felt about Konami to a large extent. Some of the best SNES releases i've played where Konami. MGS was one of my favourite series in gaming. Big part of mine and many of our childhoods. All these years later though? No need to still show hate for their mistakes back then & I'm actually somewhat hopeful for the future of their IP's.
@@OM19_MO79 Not just Konami, but even Nintendo themselves started out as something completely different than video games as we all know, and they could easily revert back into a toy company again, and will if the profit is there. That being said though, if a company is going to get out of the video game business, at least allow the licensing of your properties to a 3rd party company. Bloodstained is basically a Castlevania game without the licensed assets.
I feel gamepass is their old DRM in sheeps clothing, giving people all these games to play, but you don't own any once the subscription ends, Oh! and they can just take a game off it while you're still playing it.
At least game pass is honest about it being a pay to play pass. Any DRM crippled digital version you “buy” is not really anything more than a long term rental.
DRM on digital titles is always a concern, but that doesnt really apply to Game Pass considering it essentially follows the same model as video subscription services, there shouldn't be any expectations of actual ownership when you download a titles from it.
Also most games stay on for a very long time. You can't blame sony/Microsoft/nintendo if the publishers/devs/whoever owns the rights to the game can't come to an agreement because Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony pays them to put the license of the game on there.

Let's say you rented that game for 7 days in the 90s, you had that game to play at any time for those 7 days, nobody came up to you and pulled it out of your hand and said, "nope, you can't have it anymore". Titanreach did something similar, except they didn't use backers money. They had an angel investor who didn't want anything in return for his money (Like 1 million dollars). He just wanted them to finish the game. The developer put it all on crypto, bought a tesla, changed the design of his MMORPG to be a crypto game and then lost all the investors money in crypto.
i was at the Long Island Retro Gaming Expo (and met Ian and Pat (briefly)) and yeah - i was really surprised by how extensive the arcade and museum section was. my friend freaked out that his gaming holy grail, the Sharp x68000, was there and so he played around with and cranked the volume way up on it, lol. i played some Amstrad console i'd never even heard of (even more obscure than the Apple Pippin) that apparently sold only 15,000 copies. they had a pretty extensive arcade there, including some pretty obscure titles. and as a PC game person i was even happy with the pretty extensive collection of old PC games they had set up there to play in just the midst of all the neat vintage airplane stuff. i did buy a few games, but didn't spend a ton of the time around the vendors (kinda been priced out of most game collecting at this point tbh) but even so it was very worth it to go for me. the CUPodcast panel was also in this bizarre angled space age IMAX-type theater which was fun. hope you guys get to play more of the exhibit stuff at the conference next year, because it was definitely a lot of fun... even as someone who is jaded about a lot of conventions/conferences at this point.
Also Robert Downey Jr is a fantastic actor and a Charming person neither of which could be said of Ezra as far as I've seen wish to be fair is not that far
I love playing Fortnite with my son, but before zero build it was frustrating because i can't get my head round the building controls. Since zero build we have had so much fun and I play more than him now

Hes living with little children in the woods with guns and an unlicensed marijuana farm and the cops have constantly said everything is good and nothing is suspicious. My Fortnite building skills were decent so started on modding walls. No builds came into play and most of my friends moved to that so that’s that. TBPO playing builds was frustrating when someone can edit wall, shoot you then re-edit before you could even react to get a shot off. Holly smokes there’s some freaking talent out there or they’re cheating. Regardless I was impressed but frustrated at the same time so I’m happy for No builds

We followed him trying to get him to respond. He was running full blast. Next thing you know he's 5 houses down and runs into another kid I knows family's house. The kid that lived at that house was out of town and we didn't know what to do.... I knew he was plastered and far gone but I didn't want him scaring someone or getting arrested. Stupidly I entered the house looking for him apon entering I looked to the left and saw a TV on and a commercial was playing 2 lil kids asleep under the tv. I look to the left and see my friend In pink kids room passed out on the bed. I was like fuck this I'm done I'm out of here not going to jail for this. Left the building immediately. Told my friends out side what was up. Didn't know what to do. It was one of those holy shit situations where any thing you do is the wrong move. Long story short we went back to the party and put his car keys on the key hook , and then walked home at about 2 am. Only 2 houses up the street. In the end the kid that lived there came home from a party and passed out in his room , The next morning he was woke. I stopped into the convention briefly on the way to a friends kids bday party. I was able to meet Pat and Ian briefly and it was a pleasure! The venue was amazing. If you enjoy aviation museums I recommend the wright Patterson Air Force base museum in Dayton, ohio lots of wright brothers stuff, world war 1 and 2 aircrafts, Korean, Vietnam, gulf and even nasa stuff.
PS3 ended up outselling the 360 by the end by a few thousand units. if you take into account the massive price difference at the beginning, it was 360's game to lose. So was it disappointing for Sony to only sell like 87 million units? Sure. But that means that Sonys "most disappointing" number was Xboxs pinnacle of success. I dont think you need to be that down on the PS3. PS3 did so much right -- mine was COMPLETELY backwards compatible unlike any system has ever done since, it had free online when Xbox was charging, it had the built in blu-ray where as xbox had fucking HD add-on... they even weathered the hacking debacle where PSN was taken down for months -- vs Xbox having a much worse experience for consumers with the red ring of death shitshow -- which is probably actually responsible for inflating 360 sales numbers by a few hundred thousand easily as people had to buy replacement systems. PS3 made some big mistakes, did they need Playstation Home? No, but it was neat. And they still did well and did a lot right. And still outsold Xbox by the very end. I love my Xbox and Gamepass. But yeah, dont understand how that narrative that "ps3 flopped" and "360 did well" exists... Its just not really true at all. Relatively to the past generation sure. But not relative to the end result.

I know that Indie games are not all Garbage but in regards to Xbox GamePass I am not paying a subscription on top of a 400$ system to play NES games made by a single person in a basement

TMG opens the vendor floor to guests 2 hours before the antendees. It'd be great if conventions could do that for the arcade areas as well.
