  • In episode 16 of RWTK, we speak to a man who is extremely active in the Diaspora. Often times he’s speaking about investment opportunities and promoting Jamaica as THE perfect place to do business. From afar, his passion for his people, country and work are palpable.
    One day he’s on the cover of magazines, doing interviews and growing, and then he goes quiet. I reach out just to ask if things are OK only to realize that his health had been compromised.
    We speak about rebuilding, entrepreneurship, support of family and the path to recovery. The affable ‪@davidpmullings‬ is in the Redirection Seat.
    🤟🏾The podcast is accompanied with a sign language interpreter to make it more accessible to the deaf community.

    Its eye opening to know that not everyone who is born and raised in Jamaica did not have to struggle to be successful. His parents did an amazing job raising him. He was given all the tools from a young age to prepare him for success, but he was sheltered. Am glad that football gave him his redirection.

      I was lucky to have my parents and they made sure that I understood my privilege then would give back. This is my why - To help others who weren't as lucky with their circumstances. That is simply how I was raised and TK allowed me to do some of that via this interview.

    It is amazing how god made each and everyone of us destiny different. Being born in to families of different status, being fostered and protected and not educated of the experience of the lower class. Some wish they had a family with good moral values, to sit them down and ask what is their plan for the future, to guide them, to encourage, teach and promote a positive high-self esteem and mental space for them. In some homes the influence is negative.

    • @DavidMullings
      @DavidMullings 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You are quite right and this is why school, teachers in particular, is so crucial. We cannot control homes as a society, we can influence them, but we can control the school environment. Jamaica needs to do better by our students
