People love the "sex sells" thing, but they don't realize that "sex does not retain." You could have the hottest vtuber model but that isn't going to keep a community going. Vtuber fans stay in a group that they vibe with with content they enjoy. I find a vtuber by looking at my recommends, and if they aren't reacting/playing something I don't care about I'm not going to go in there regardless of how hot the vtuber model is. towards the end she talks about just being weird and i think that touches on the biggest problem with the whole "autism is a spectrum" thing. it broadened the definition far too much to be medically or scientifically relevant. instead of being a disorder which can be diagnosed based on a set of symptoms which negatively impact the persons life, which can then be treated once identified, it became any little quirk and considering it a problem becomes offensive because obviously it would be silly to try to "treat" an irrelevant personality quirk in a perfectly healthy person, meanwhile the people with symptoms that genuinely hinder their development and life who could be helped with more study and treatment methods are abandoned under the guise of acceptance.

I've always been cognizant even as a teen that it is fantasy and just dumb fun. I have to imagine most guys that watch harem anime see it as silly enjoyment and not actual relationship advice. I mean I'm sure there are some weirdos that do but really it is just dumb fun and we all know it. There are, among women, the small number that think rom-coms and the like are how falling in love and getting married should look for them. There are still some mid-30's girls looking for their Edward from Twilight. It's not all of them, but I think it might happen more to women because guys are taught to know that they have to put effort into relationships more than women are these days. These women (who seem to invariably have a high subscriber count on Instagram and TikTok) really believe that they are inherently at their apex, and deserve an equally-apex man, without doing anything. It also helps that the girls get development specifically rooted in fact that they all know that the guy doesn’t like them like that and are all lowkey or highkey suffering for it. Also, the series specced into becoming a battle shonen with political intrigue so it’s not all about the nonexistent romance or wacky frenemy/quasi-harem school life antics.

and what both have in common, is that they are both evolutionary traits, that survived when humans began making more complicated social structures and societies larger than small nomadic tribes.
Society itself, is a resolute of swapping over from hunter gatherer nomads, in to actual farming groups.
So being able to survive in a group, gave traits that helped survive in a group.
Though, one evolutionary pressure has been a constant for men, and never in all of history been one for women.
That being consequence of actions/decisions, and why men cooperate so well in groups, while women in groups, backstab each other baseline.
When men in any society/group, did not cooperate, they where all killed by other groups, and their women taken over. So cooperation and threat assessment prediction became a massive need by evolutionary pressure. Meanwhile, the largest evolutionary pressure for women, was to get the top man, and dethrone other women from the top guy.
So while men died out for their decisions, women had no such pressure.
Speaking on a large scale, genetically, less than 20% of all men ever procreated the next generation, meanwhile over 80% of women procreated, giving them no pressure in decision making. And why all societies in all of history that achieved large societies, always had harsh societal pressure to get women to have children, as it was the only thing tying a woman to said society, and not open the gates for the enemy to take over their own society. It is also why close to all mythos, has a version of what Islam states that "1 man is worth 2 women in testimony". Since men had evolutionary pressure to cooperate, while women had pressure to backstab and lie.
It is why every society in all of history, has a 100% fatality rate, when "equality" becomes a thing, as it removes all the "societal evolutionary pressure" that would hold a society together, as women genetically in all of history, has ever had consequence for bad decision-making.
Bringing us back to men and women deriving happiness from making others happy. This itself is half true, half wrong.
Men being a protector/provider indeed has this as true, due to cooperative evolutionary pressure since the inception of society.
But for women, this has to be * with it being in relation to her immediate family, and not society at large, like it is with men.
Women inherently do not derive happiness from making others happy, only immediate connections, not others at large.
This is due to the little evolutionary pressure women had, where immediate connection to other humans, and the highest threat where other women in their immediate surroundings (family and friends that they competed with for the top guy).
All in all, we come to the conclusion, that while both men and women "can" derive happiness from helping others, women only get it from immediate 1st link connections, while men can derive it from all of society, as they had to apply their cooperation to all of society, or their society fell to outside threats, and the men died out.

In contrast, Quinn was continually being brought into the spotlight, she convinced a judge to put an injunction on her boyfriend so he couldn't post anything on social media to defend himself, she got the Fine Young Capitalist's gaming jam shutdown only to never set up her own as she claimed she would with the donations she received.
Sarkesian was mostly in the background during GG, acting on the boards of organizations that people like Zoe Quinn and Briana Wu were using to help collect donations (or something similar, I don't remember exactly how that shell game worked).

If you look at a game from 2002, like Metroid Prime, it looks old but not egregiously so. A few changes to raise the render resolution and change the display aspect ratio and if told it was a new game most people would find it acceptable. Now if you go back the same amount of time from now to 2002, 22 years, and went back from 2002 you'd be looking at something like Space Invaders for the Atari 2600. Just in storage for computers and electronics in the 90s we went through 5.25inch floppies, 3.5inch floppies of various densities, CD-Rom, CR-RW of various types, zip drives, usb based flash drives, and various types of flash cards including the now dominant SD cards.

Honestly at 47:37 I no longer see keeping the named quiet as "being the bigger person". To me it's just feeding them more power because they know they can do anything and won't be punished. Even if they blacklist you in secret it still effects your ability to network which is important for Vtubers, not just specifically you but other people that maybe want to collab with you might be bullied out of it because if they do then they'll also be blacklisted.
Let's use a big name as the example. Nux. Let's say him and a smaller creator are talking and the smaller creator wants to do a collab. Even if Nux wants to and even if he knows it would help the smaller creator out, Nux would still refuse the collab because he knows if he did it that the small creator would be blacklisted in response. This effectively cancels out any brand building that collab would have created.
Yet, because the people making these blacklist lists never get named they can keep on doing it. Shutting down smaller creators and even stunting the growth of medium sized ones. The only follow options those creators then have is to either quit, keep it a small hobby or lock themselves into being a "controversial" Vtuber even if it's not what they want to do.
To many bad people get away with bad things because to many good people "Don't want to be that guy"

Genuinely irrational behavior that never would've happened any time before 2015. Also I'd say you're more cute than sexy. Would make for a good friend than anything else. That is my comment. Have a nice day.

Ok, manic pixie dream girl as a trope was not sexist as a criticism in media, because it was about bad writing similar to criticizing Mary Sue characters. It’s only sexist when it’s misused on well rounded characters that feminists simply don’t like, or real women that appeal to men more than feminists. In media, in the original context, it was actually an annoying trope at it’s height, and women who were a bit alternative or artsy were rightfully annoyed at guys who were constantly projecting that caricature on to them and then being upset that the girls weren’t into them or didn’t fit the cliches once they got to know them. It died out as a trend after a short time.

I wasn't intending to bring up other chuubas but considering that door is open for this vid... I don't think Kirsche is inherently a political streamer. Just like you, she likes talking about topics that she's passionate about, and that involves talking about some of the problems in the world, and it just so happens that many of those topics have a political element because politics has it's hooks in everything.
Some may try to argue that makes her political, but in truth it's that politics affects everything so you can't talk about anything of real substance without touching on it.
I feel the two of you would get a long. You're similar in a number of ways. Pair of based wholesome ladies.

Just for the sake of the information being out there I've seen her before saying "of course I'm political. I have things I care about and worry about" (paraphrased but the general meaning is maintained). A Vtuber being political is no different then any regular political TH-camr, there's still a person behind the avatar and any individual person can be political

It really REALLY super ultra wasn't. MPDG is older than color TV. Everyone thinks about Ramona because that's what the critics called her, not because she was the most popular MPDG.
500 days of summer was more popular in the same decade, but Breakfast at Tiffany's was far more culturally relevant for a long time than both. Hell, Belle of Beauty and the Beast is more popular than Romana.
All of them feature an MPDG before critics convinced our brain-damaged culture that MPDGs started with Ramona.

I would love to have more political talk with some of my friends, but given how this election was, it made it so hard to want to converse with them about it. Mostly because they have a hatred rooted so deep that you don’t recognize them anymore.
Just as I have deep opinions in certain matters, the next person could have the opposite, and we can never discuss it.

If you want to hate the Hogwarts legacy situation even more, JK Rolling got no money from any video games with the Harry Potter world. She sold those rights years ago like before the movies came out. She only makes money from the books. There's a video that explains it in more detail.
