3:48, I recently had to make one of these for a puronvarsi knife I was building, except I held the stupid thing with my fingers and used a belt sander and the table. Dunno why I didn't think to use pliers, I somehow managed not to remove my fingertips. Gonna remember this. Good looking knife and sheath btw. The sheath is great!
The knife is beautiful!! But the Scandi had to be lowered. The Finnish knife is the Scandi descents, I think. You make really good knives!!! Keep doing it, or you rarely get new knives. 😅
Nice knife ! I almost thought it was one of my video because the shots and everything :D And I learned something new with the leather loop that holds the sheath. Keep it up ;-)
Hello my name is Des and I am from Australia. I have just watched your video for the third time and I am amazed at how beautiful the knife you have made is. I was wondering if it would be possible to buy one of these knives from you I would love to try and make one for myself but unfortunately I am visually impaired and cannot see well enough for it, if I could purchase one from you or get you to make one for me that I could purchase I would think that was fantastic. Once again. Your knife is a thing of beauty. Looking forward to hearing from you Des.
Hi! Thank you for your message and words, I appreciate it. I have received so many inquiries about my knives that I have considered making a few knives for sale. I'll let you know on my channel IF knives go on sale :)
@@kiehicraft thank you for your quick response. If you could mark me down for one when you make them doesn’t matter how long it takes. I would really appreciate one. They are such a beautiful looking knife program. Couldn’t I will pay whatever you want just one thank you very very much again. Look forward to seeing more video clips as well. Des
I wouldn’t have chosen wenge as a spacer which is an African wood but the whole build looks beautiful… a few mistakes that might get your knuckles slapped but the results are gorgeous… something about puuko
Hi! Gorgeous knife and knife sheath! Im somewhat new to knifemaking and have one question; did you not glue between the Wood and the leather? Is that not necessary? Again Very cool looking knife!💯 12:34
Thanks! Actually I put a little bit of glue between the leather and the wood. Glue is not necessary in the case where deep grooves are made in the wooden part, where the wet leather is pressed and sewed tightly. When the leather dries it tightens tightly around the wood and into the groove. But one way or another, the glue makes the joint more secure :)
@@diagorasmoustakas249 I think there is many reasons for that. One reason is on the intended use. Full tang knives can handle tougher handling than normal puukko. Some might like more the looks of the puukko, like I do. Do you like more full tang knives?
@@kiehicraft I think also PUUKKO is lighter and warmer handle specially in the winter while full tang is heavier and cold .I like puukko more but for the same money I can buy MORA GARBERG and I don't know .What do you think ? PUUKKO is going to last ?

There is something special about puukkos that no other knives can touch. I have several. Thanks 🔪
Come on. Functionally, the mora comes close.
An outstanding blade and you made a beautiful knife with it. It's something to be proud of and use.
Thank you! 😊
Благодарю!

Very nice. It's simple, but very elegant.

Нож шикарный. Ножны сделаны топорно, мастеру не хватило терпения.
Thats a full tang puukko? Wowwww nice
Thanks! It is not full tang, it is stick tang.

Классный нож!!! А можно купить у Вас нож?

Hi do you sell any of your knives ?.
Did you glue the leather on the wood for the sheath? If yes, what kind of glue?
Otherwise, how is it holding together?

Riveting the brass ring to the tail is done after the glue has hardened first? Thank you.
Yes, I did it that way
@@kiehicraft Thank you
Very nice 👍 How sorts wood was use on handle?
Thanks! I used wenge and curly birch on the handle

The knife is great, but it wouldn’t be my choice of sheath.
Don’t square off the shoulders! You are creating a weak point.. the opening must open subtly to accommodate the rounded shoulders.. very important
Absolutely!
