You have amazing patience and I applaud you. I threw mine together, skipping most of those steps...Mine turned out really great, yours is a product that you know is superior because you put more love into it.... Nice work my friend :)
This is extremely, extremely well crafted. You should be proud of your work and I hope you continue to improve your craft as you practice and time goes on. Much better than anything I have put together so far.
What a pleasure to watch ! i spend a lot of time on TH-cam and this is without doubt one of the most relaxing well made well crafted videos and skills i have seen i take my hat of to you sir you sexy devil you.
It turned out beautifully! I would love to own a knife as well crafted as this with that much work and care put into it. Right now I'm looking to restore a vintage Boy Scout knife and the leather handle is coming apart. This video was super helpful and informative. Is there no need to dry the leather at any point?
Very Good! ......... Here are a couple of comments At about 3min 20sec toy show tin plate and say it is a traditional material We know that for a long time, going back to prehistoric times, there was a lot of communication and trading around northern Europe and the North Sea, between Britain, Scandinavian and Baltic countries, and further across Europe to the Mediterranean So perhaps the tin used for tools, jewellery and ornaments in those areas came from Cornwall, in Britain? I've never made a stacked leather knife, but I do make narrow tang knives with a brass bolster, then various pieces of wood, spacers, and so on Sometimes the fit of the bolster is kinked or distorted after the glue has set - very annoying and frustrating! So now I glue just the bolster onto the knife with 5 - minute epoxy glue, and hold it in place till it has set Then, if that's right, I make up the rest of the handle with 24 hour epoxy; the fixed bolster makes a good support for the rest of the handle, and there aren't usually any more problems.
What can this shape of the blade be useful for? I tried it on the hunt for boar skin but it did not help at all. For cutting vegetables or meat completely unsuitable. It is only for wood, what can be the use that will excel? Amazing job, very nice knife.
Stamps for patterning, edge beveler to clean edges, leather dye, needle and thread. We have been making leather crafts for a long time so there is nothing mysterious or high tech about it. 😄I suggest you buy a full piece of full grain leather 15 square feet and start practicing
angqvist thanks :). Since I really liked the result I really want to have a try to it. I wouldn’t be able to achieve the same result but whatever, trying is’worth enough. cheers
Hmm... hængeren på skeden kunne måske godt laves lidt mere elegant. Punsel arbejdet på det midterste af skeden ser fedt ud ..hvad hedder punslen? ..altså y-fletten
Drilling the holes in the leather created a lot of leather DUST I hope you had a good mask on: leather dust is HIGHLY CARCINOGENIC, a one-time exposure can be all you need. A warning to viewers to always wear a dust mask could be handy
Nope… It looks more like a shank than a knife! You can’t piecemeal and hope for symmetry. If you’re building for utility, great job but if you’re building for craftsmanship… 4.5 out of 10.
Hi Jerry! I try to show all the things I use, e.g. at 13:13 I show what I put on the leather handle. There was no dye. The handle turns darker from the leather fat and sanding :) Let me know if you have any other questions
Mr Poparad, That response speaks volumes about you. Did you actually watch the video? Do you really need dialogue? You were shown every single thing that you needed to be shown. You should already have known through living life, when you aren't asleep, that leather naturally darkens if you put oil or wax on it. People like you are not very useful due to their lack of observational skill and negativity when someone has taken the time to give specific, clear, visual instruction. Now keep your eyes open and wipe the drool from the corner of your mouth.
@ jerry - You’re not very sharp are you fella? Absolutely everything you need to know is in the video. Now go grab your crayons and sit in the corner like a good little boy....
Excellent work, such a beautiful knife and sheath!
Thanks!

Sounds great! Most important thing is that you like it yourself
beautiful handle shape. i consider this is ideal handle shape for knife
Thanks mate :) I agree it feels great in the hand. I have used this knife a lot since I made it
Very very nice! And the cleanest work bench I have ever seen.
Very nice work. Love the endcap... TY
Thanks!
Beautiful work! 👍👍👍
the pommel is true art thank you for that
Thanks! Appreciate it

Thanks Mike!
Fantastic and done like a professional. Thanks for sharing!
I wonder if the bank will lend me some money? I would buy one of your knives because they are a work of art.

I'm not sure what I would have done when the handle glue up went badly. Nice save.
Beautiful knife. My question is, where do you purchase the Helle blade from?

Absolutely beautiful work my friend, nicely crafted with superb finishing. You're very talented and the result was perfect. What a great looking knife
Thanks mate! :)
Nice knife 👍. Suggestion :
You should squeeze the handle from the tip of the knife to the butt of the handle... So it will be no gap

Im not sure why this video got 41 dislikes, you did some amazing work... great job. The hell with those haters.
Is there a reason to use epoxy on the handle rather than wood glue?
When YOU learn how this knife is made.....THEN TEACH!!!!
A very nice video and well done on the handle and the sheath!
Supper...
Very good video thanks for sharing your Berry patient and with detail I would for shire pay for that quality of craftsmanship
Thanks Marc! Working on another knife now, stay tuned :)
Nice blade, pity about the bodge on the antler front piece.
What is vulcanized fiber material?
hello, nice video et very good looking final result. do you mind explaining what kind of tools you used to work on the sheath? thanks

Hi, what stamp number have the stamp from the middle of the sheath?
Hi! It's a guy called Sergey that makes these. He is on etsy but also has his own site. This is stamp nr 163.
@@angqvist thank you

Though the finished knife is great if you wish to show the finishes show for longer than you did.
Forresten et godt råd ...brug nitril handsker når du limer...epoxy trænger lige igennem dem du bruger der.
Крутой нож.
👍
You should never use wood glue on leather, it drys hard and snaps once leather is bent... contact cement is much better and easier to use.
Agree 100%. The only glues I use for leather are rubber or neoprene based...as they remain flexible when dried
No need here to be flexible, wood glue would actually work ok here. Most use epoxy for this so wood glue is also ok.
Fanta+ Stick =

Good advice
there is a mystake :(

Video's like this are not very useful when there is no accompanying dialog. What dyes did you use on the leather handle. What type of wax?
