    Regarding names. When talking about the myth of Dobrynya Nikitich, I use Russian names because it is a (supposedly) Russian Myth. When talking about the actual history, I use the proper names. Or at least that was my intent. If I screwed up, I apologize. :(

      Tbh this is a minefield, I must say,to u, look out to not be pressured by both sides, cause how should I put this, I don’t trust both sides on this issue cause they all have the intention to have their version of history be the one to be recognized and at that point it’s not about history and what actually happened but politics and what they want to have happened , I know I sound rather pissy about it but having done research on both sides claims of the whole Ukraine situation, boi both have bogus claims backed by trust me bro sources, especcialy when the situation of kieven rus shit pops up do to 20th century rethoric of both sides, cause of well certain events in the 1930s and 40s from which both sides modern rethoric comes from in reguards to certain claims. But yeh my suggestion is just, when situations like this happen try to not take sides cause unfortunately when a political issue comes up there is always fog of war and the one with the best propaganda and information obscuration usually wins and u risk of getting caught up in lies, after all one example of this situation that only now its getting a bit of truth would be the Nero claudius situation its been 2000+ plus years and only now we see the hole of the false narrative of certain events because as much as people deny it historians are people that take sides there are really rare times in which historians wrote down history objectively, and it’s especcialy less trust worthy when the issue is a political one that goes on to this day cause they have all the interest to push the agenda of the group that profits them the most reguardless if it’s the truth or not. I know it sounds heartless on my part of being this hard on this but i know I have suffered political progapaganda for years of my life and boi am I tired of it, I just want the truth and 2sides squabbling like children because they want to be right reguardless of what actually happened irritates me to no end. Sorry for the rant but yeh good video

But anyway I woudnt say it’s both side’s fault if there was undeniable proof that it’s only one side’s fault, if it was i would gladly tell u yes it was this guy’s fault but history has never been that simple nor straight forward in this stuff and there is a famous saying that applies very much so to this situation, the first victim of the battlefield is the truth. @@CrazyYuriealso the fact dobrinya makes reference to Constantinople and the fact someone lost themselfs and didn’t come back for years , that is actually a referene to dobrinya going a big travel saying to his wife he was going to Constantinople and coming back soon and he did not come back soon which makes her angry, infact in the game when they mention it in dialogue she gets real pissed, aka yes this is nastasia taking his place to be him, it’s similar more to a case of artemis and Orion but this time nastasia does it cause: she thinks of dobrinya to be too much of a womanizer and so she took his place to stop the flirting , also it’s highly likely the horse’s personality or in this case dragon it’s actually dobrinya’s personality, why I say this? In japan its mentioned a lot of mount and rider being one being same way a samurai is one with their sword, and if u apply this logic, it makes sense that dobrinya’s personality had to be put somewhere and the mount makes perfect sense to be the one getting his personality but not his memories.

    So far, the residents of hell (Level: F) have been:
    - A clown-like demon who is known for making deals, but has not made any contracts.
    - The other half of the supposed "King of the Fairies" who looks more like an original character from another franchise.
    - A low budget Freddy Krueger who is also a simp for women.
    - A "Russia" dragon slayer who is more of a cat girl than a badass warrior.

    It feels like with this character, the designers and writers worked backwards. Instead of creating a version of this famed historical figure, they had a design for a winter themed catgirl, wanted a russian servant for tunguska, found this dragon slayer, and shoved a square peg in a round hole, shaving off as much as they could to get it to fit and tacking on bits to add waifu points.

    for dobrynya the only reason i can think WHY she's even a genderbent is because they just wanted a big titty catgirl who rides on a badass dragon. to copy someone else's comment here, they simply created the catgirl and then just slapped the dobrynya label onto her. there's barely any connection she has to her real world counterpart

    Another good video. I am curious though on your grade. Would it change if, given the ending dialogue for Tunguska, this was actually Natashia instead of Dobrynya himself? It seems to be although the game is honestly really coy about it. I mean, the end dialogue makes it seem like he wants to talk to Koyanskaya but hasn't had the chance (which Nikitich doesn't much in the game even when she has some chances to) and her dislikes make it clear that she 'hates waiting' which is what his wife had to do for years. As well, his wife was inhuman which meant she could enter Koyanskaya's place without issue where Dobrynya was a human so he couldn't.
    It does seem like it points to her being the wife but the game seems to treat this as a 'coy' secret. It's just so odd since it makes no sense to keep it hidden, especially after the event.
    It kinda miffs me about this. I actually like Nikitich and her design. She is a refreshingly straight forward servant. She's fun. Yet she got and still gets a lot of flak for both her design and being a 'genderbend' when she probably isn't. I kinda wish the game just clarified this and the fandom backed up a bit.
    Still, a good analysis of her.

    Also you don't have to feel bad about talking about Nobunaga's brutality. Real historian research his story and already saw a very clever plot.
    The enemy actually employed the battle monk to attack Nobunaga. This is actually what leads to the notorious act of destruction to any Buddhist religion done by Nobunaga.
    The reality is just him clearing out rebels but everyone even his citizens saw a priest getting killed so many times that it seem like he's a demon lord.
    Like historian would say there's going to always have one side that try to plotting the whole war to make "Enemies killing Enemies"
    Its effective too if still heard of Nobunaga's defamation.

    One of my issues with her is the fact that unlike other characters with an Armor Noble Phantasm (Like Karna's Kavacha and Kundala, and Odysseus's Aegis) there is absolutely nothing in her design that points to it's existence. On top of that, it instead joined the ranks of NPs that were used as skills (Like Vlad III's Legend of Dracula) even though I am pretty sure that there might have been better skills (Like Instinct or Indomitable Will) to give to her.
    Anyway great video. I would recommend looking at the character's Valentine CE for the upcoming videos as they sometimes have a bit of extra lore regarding the character (Like Ozy's and Rama's).

      @CrazyYurie  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      I did that very deliberately. The original myth is a Russian one, and so I use the Russian names when talking about that. But when I move into the actual history, I swap to the proper names. With that said, I didn't actually know the Ukrainian name for Nikitich - I must admit I didn't look, because I just assumed it was some Russian story that was not at all appreciated by Ukrainians. Not very professional of me, I know, but that was my thinking based upon what I saw. In my initial thoughts about making this video, I was going to make a sarcastic joke saying that I was going to write a story about a white American hero from the 1300's who slew demons and giants to protect the American people. Naturally my "hero" would have some overly American name like "Theodore Jefferson" or something, and no mention whatsoever would be made of Native Americans. The point would be to compare such a blatantly historically false tale that tries to distort the past with the tale of Dobrynya Nikitich. Instead I decided to take things more seriously and to just lay out everything, so that people knew exactly what I meant.
      At the very least though, I do hope that the "opinion" section I did makes it *very* clear where I sit with regards to current events. I mean, I outright called it imperialism.
      Edit: Also, I too was very annoyed by the translation. I could and did forgive the JP devs, since they didn't know they were two months away from yet another imperial war. I'm much less forgiving of the NA localization, who should have known better.

While red hair is found in the region it isn't the best (Egypt liked to ritually kill red heads) and its more typically a northern European thing. Truly one of those FGO moments: a Dragon mount called Dragon. Even something like Draco, Draka or Drake would have been better (not as creative, but better than nothing)
    (Minute: 0:44-0:49)
    Maybe the horse died on the way to Tunguska Sanctuary and the girl found a random dragon and decided to make it her new mount?
    Yes, I know I'm giving the FGO writers too much credit, but that would be my excuse for not having the horse.
    (Minute: 2:38-2:41)
    Another potential Pretender class Servant thrown away. In fact, the main Servant of Tunguska Sanctuary would have also fit into the Pretender class.
    (Minute: 6:58-7:05)
    I would rather say that they didn't even try or they didn't have to do much research. Still better than Drake's Golden Rudder at least.
    (Minute: 14:41-14:52)
    So....Jeanne d'Arc "Russian" version?
    Ironically, FGO resolves some of its conflicts with diplomacy or dialogue. And I feel that diplomacy would have served considering the enemy they had to face in Tunguska Sanctuary. Of course, it would only work if FGO's Dobrynya Nikitich had a diplomatic mindset and not a savage creature.
    Also, if the Dragon broke the peace treaty in the myth.... Does it mean that that Dragon mount called Dragon will become evil in the future?
    (Minute: 16:44-16:48)
    (Go into smart mode) Well...... Actually...... Just because she's a Dragon slayer doesn't mean she's immune to fire...
    Also, she is half-beast, so some of that beast skin would be burned (also, there is nothing in Tunguska Sanctuary that says Dobrynya Nikitich is immune to burning)

    Honestly, claiming that Moscow couldnt claim the history of a country it was a part of is a bit.... Unfair? It is true that Moscow laid claim to the culture that it was a part of it all along, so as far as they saw it at the time, they just created a new seat of power (not to mention that the real rullers at the time were Mongols).
    Also, why Peter the First? He had nothing to do with russification, being ifamous for doing exact opposite and destroying astablished russian culture and even moving the capital from Moscow to the city he built himself Saint Petersburg (notice how the name is gemanic). Also he mostly was at war with the Sweden, and his motives at the time had nothing to do with "russification" (again, he was a fanboy of Europe, he was trying to take and replicate Europian culture).
    My opinion is that "russification" in general is a modern propaganda term used for old Russian Empirialism. I do belive that some of such ideas were practiced, hoewer they began WAY after teritories in question became part of a Russian Empire, so I disagree that there were any spesific wars fought with that goal. After all, by the time such measures began to be taken, Russian Emperors already declared Russia to be a Third Roam (ye, that old favorite of literaly every major nation).

    • @CrazyYurie
      @CrazyYurie  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Claiming to be the heir of a legacy is one thing. Claiming to be the sole heir of a legacy is quite another, which is very much what Muscovy did. They explicitly deny the legitimacy of anyone else claiming that legacy.
      Russification wasn't so much the justification for Russia's wars of expansion, but rather a policy that was undertaken to forcefully assimilate non-Russian peoples who ended up within the territories of the Russian Empire. These efforts led to uprisings, independence movements, and ultimately the wars for those nations to break away from the Russian metropole. In other words? Russification led to wars - as it continues to do so, and probably will do so again so long as Russia clings to its dreams of empire.
      Also Russification is not a "modern propaganda term" - it is an umbrella term for a variety of policies and laws undertaken for the purpose already described. I suggest that you delve into researching topics yourself rather than just assuming that something you don't like is "propaganda". You will find that politicians regularly misrepresent and abuse history for their own benefit, but they cannot escape the facts that have existed for millennia.

    • @crazyguy4209
      @crazyguy4209 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CrazyYurie I consider "russification" a propaganda term because it seems to have appeared in the recent years, in order to justify anti-russian policies.
      Not to mention that Moscow never claimed to be "the only" inherent of culture. Did they try to get other parts of Rus under their control without a regard for the local rules? Yes, absolutely, but it was done in order to fight the enemy, who's main tactic was to "devide and concure".
      Not to mention Russia doesn't cling to an "dream of an empire". Modern conflict is exclusively money related, most specifically to fossil fuels. Is it disgusting? Absolutely! But only in cence that the rest of us have to be given "reasons" as to why the opposition is bad, while in reality, the people counting money refrain from responsibility because "history". We are not supposed to see people in our time, sacrificing others for their own gain, but instead we should look at "evil nations" that were evil all along!
      When it comes to a Dobrinya, I do believe that it was an invention of its publishers, and I do believe that whoever did this, did not do this with a goal to turn something not Russian into Russian.
      What I'm trying to say, is that putting a tinfoil hat, and saying "it's all a long historical conspiracy" is rather unbased in this situation. Even if it is, people responsible are LONG dead (thanks, communist revolution) and claiming that there is still some responsibility to be had... Well it's the good old Sins of the Father.

      @@crazyguy4209 In other words, you have no idea. And since that is the case, i'll go ahead and fill you in. Ukraine's primary resource of note is food, because its soil happens to be quite good for growing crops. It is a major provider of foodstuffs, particularly wheat. This is why, when the war began, people were freaking out about food supplies to food-insecure countries - notably Egypt, and so they made a deal to ship grain from Odessa out of the Black Sea. There are other resources of course, but internationally they are negligible compared to Ukraine's position with foodstuffs.
      Now, if this person who "heard things" about oil in Ukraine was telling the truth, and that is the apparent reason for starting a war? Please explain the logic as to why the country with some of the world's largest reserves of Oil and Natural Gas would throw half a million lives, hundreds of billions of dollars, the complete ruin of their trade relationships with the nations that they SELL the Oil and Gas to, the exodus of millions of their best, and many many more costs... all to get a little bit more of something they already have an obscene amount of?
