    The instructions are wrong for front-control dishwashers. If it’s a top control, the door should be open but with forward-facing controls the door needs to be CLOSED. Also make sure your phone WiFi is on your 2.4 GHz connection, not the 5G.

      I've tried it with the door open and closed, neither works. The app just times out in trying to find a Bluetooth connection in both scenarios.

      Hi, thank you for all your message. If you have changed ISP, you will need to factory reset the appliance to get rid of your old ISP details. Factory reset will be found with the basic settings of the appliance. Once this is done, you will then be able to connect to your new ISP.

    Does this Bosch dishwasher have an OBD II port or something ?
    My wi-fi icon light on the dishwasher flashes all the time. Apparently, it's only meant to flash once you've pressed the Remote Star button for 5 seconds or so.
    I did that anyway then pressed "search for devices" on the app on my phone, then it just timed out with "Bluetooth scan timeout (Error H9400)".
    This really is very lame for a company such as Bosch.
    Edit: I suspect that the dishwasher isn't giving a Bluetooth signal.

    What a pain this was. Sharing my experience in case it helps. Followed instructions - home connect simply said "connection between smartphone and home appliance not possible H9208" - H9208 appears nowhere in documentation. Great. Checked my phone and dishwasher were both on same wifi network (SSID) - they were - both were on 5GHz. Simply could not finalise connection between the phone and the dishwasher. I dropped my phone onto the 2.4GHz SSID i have - connected immediately. So dishwasher was on 5GHz SSID#1 and phone was on 2.4GHz SSID#2. So for me - the dishwasher seems to be staying connected on 5GHz. And i can bounce my phone between 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi networks without an issue. I'll keep an eye on it for a few days. I have to say - for the phone and dishwasher to be be on same wifi and same frequency (5GHz) and not connect seems very odd. My experience is not definitive - it is just what worked for me. Hope it helps. Looking forward to contacting my dishwasher at any time of day or night for a chat about ... well .... dishes i expect.

    I'm glad I found this video! I followed the instructions that came with my Bosch 300 series dishwasher FOUR times with no success; the phone app kept failing to find my dishwasher. Then I watched this video and the KEY item was to hold the remote start button for four seconds. I assume this is necessary to turn on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth otherwise there is no communication. Why didn't the instructions that came with machine say this? Come on, Bosch! Get your instructions right!

    After resetting the diswasher I got it connected OK. Series 4 machine, phone iPhone XR. Tried with Android, but it was not able to scan the QR code.

    I really don't see the point of having a wi-fi enabled dishwasher.
    I still have to load and unload t, so I'm right in front of the Start button anyway.
    I'd rather not have it and have the product that bit cheaper.

      They just want the data, it's not making it "easier" per se.
      Now home connect is a forced update if you want to access your appliances which totally sucks. I'm not a fan of one more sign up, one more potential area for a data breach to occur, one more data gathering app that doesn't really assist me in using home appliances, personally. Actually kinda pissed it's mandatory now.

      I eventually set my dishwasher up to connect to the app.
      The app is terrible. There are a gazillion menus and options.
      All I need are the Cycle settings and a big Start button.
      No idea how people my parents' age would manage.
      Actually, I know. They couldn't.
      All that is needed is a dial and a start button.
      I get the feeling that it was done for cost, they can do away with a screen display on the unit and a number of buttons.

    My 'Serie 6' dishwasher loses wifi connection every day.... I then go through the faff of connecting a new appliance, for me to go through the same grief of losing wifi the next day... VERY VERY ANNOYING....my previous Bosch dishwasher was only 5 years old when it packed up, so was looking to go to another brand. The wifi aspect swayed me to stay with Bosch. Won't be making that same mistake again...which will probably be in 4.5 years time...

      I have heard of drivers going on long journeys. getting stranded when running out of fuel who then blame their luck or even threaten to replace the car?!!😁

    While it can connect to a 5Ghz network (Orbi mesh) system it keeps disconnecting after a day. You cannot isolate the 2.4Ghz band on an Orbi system. Why allow the dishwasher to connect to a 5Ghz band in the first place if it cannot stay connected??? You should have just installed a 2.4Ghz band network adapter!!!

    After pressing the button with mobile icon, machine did not switch to connect status, I read the manual but its too simple, I don’t know what to do now, ha ha 😂. BOSCH should do more, I was at BOSCH before and I believe it’ll be, hope tens of feedback from this video come to BOSCH team

      Dont be... the video content is much-much better than the music! I just cant watch longer than 30 sec at the time. I must wait between session to prevent permanent brain damage.

      Trouble is these video creaters dont produce videos from a customers point of view. They just spew what they know and assume that you are watching with telescopes that can see What's displayed on their screens.
      They can use AI voice if nervous to speak nu no they have to use rotten music 😁

      As you have to load it, insert a tablet and shut the door anyway, there's not much advantage in being able to start it remotely, as you're next to the button panel anyway.
      My guess is that it's a cost-cutting exercise. You can do away with a screen and more buttons if you just send the info through the app and let the phone do the communication.

      @@BoschHomeUKandIreland How does it make my life easier? Why would I want to start my machines by remote, they already have a timer delay? I know how long a wash take, I can look at the time when I set the machine to wash and I can look at the time when ever I want to see how long is left. What would help if you really want to make your machines better, is make sure they can all have their front and rear levelling feet adjusted fro the front.

    Utter rubbish, all I get is H9005 wireless password incorrect, but it's the same password every other device I have is using to connect to the network. App also crashes when trying to add a device.

    If I dont want the WiFi on do I just not press the "enable remote" button ? I don't want even more WiFi though my home !

      Great question! This is an optional feature, so does not need to be connected to WIFI if this isn't required.

      @@BoschHomeUKandIreland Hi Claire, Can you just confirm that the dishwasher will not broadcast any WiFi signal at all - even when a device is not connected? (I get headaches from WiFi devices so dont want a dishwasher that I cannot turn off the WiFi - as in I need airplane mode feature like a phone)

      Hi, thank you for your message. The WiFi connection can be turned off/on if connected to a Wi-Fi connection, via the settings. If it's not connected it would not broadcast a Wi-Fi signal, as our dishwashers are connected via Bluetooth.

      A Bluetooth signal is only broadcasted when the remote start button is held down for 3 seconds.

    Unfortunately I can't install Home Connect. Apple store said: "This app is currently not available in your country or region". I'm from Moldova and I bought Bosh dishwasher here.

      Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Yes this should let you know the time of the programme that is left, what part of the cycle it is on (depending on the machine) and it will also give you a notification when the programme has finished.

    Aplication is garbage, dishwasher programer is garbage. I considering to dump my brand new dishwasher into a garbage. in 2022. they produce such a garbage. somene should get fired cuz of this. Never buy anything from bosch again.

      I connect my dishwasher to an app and everything is ok, nex time i want to use it over app it wont work i need to reconnect it all over again to app.

      @@BoschHomeUKandIreland James this video is full of Bosch advising customers to get in touch with Bosch, when problem appears to be machine router distance.
      Ask the complainant to take their phone near the machine and in top right corner of phone you will see signal is one bar or even non existent😁 And they all blame the poor machine or Bosch Its like not having petrol in car then blaming car when it stalls to a halt. (I have to tow it to garage everyday i will buy a different car next time ha ha ha😁😁)

      It is a ridiculous setting. You need to go to dishwasher to grant permission EVERY TIME. Yes, you are right, EVERY TIME. If I can access dishwasher directly, why would I use this APP?

    Afrter 5 hours I just give up. I guess that's what you get when you buy an appliance bound to a proprietary black box service.
    The dishwasher connect to the WiFi just fine and it's even found by the Home Connect app but all this "turn it on, wait 10 secs and hold remote button for 3 secs" doesn't do literally anything. I found out that I can reach a different state by holding the remote button and the power button together, then it doesn't connect to the wifi and the wifi icon starts blinking instead.
    I reeally don't know what else I can try, all I did was that I removed the dishwasher from the app because it said the machine was "offline", and now it seems to remember the wifi and it even connects to it but it's impossible for the app to discover it because it's discovering via bluetooth. I even tried blacklisting its MAC address to make it think like "Oh, I can't connect to the wifi, so I will have to enter a pairing mode" but unfortunately, it didn't work either.

      @maximmic Hi, unfortunately no. I've been working in IT since 2014, yet I didn't find a way to connect this damn dishwasher to HomeConnect, I believe it's a SW bug. Spent so many hours trying to achieve anything without any success. The dishwasher itself works great but I don't believe connecting it to any HC appliance is possible.
