    Last year I've had a lot of urinary tract infections and had to take several antibiotics for months. Granted I was unemployed after graduation and my relationship at the time was leading nowhere, but I have never been that depressed... Like, I don't want to leave my bed depressed and I don't want to see anyone depressed. Never had a depression before, this one also went away on its own, even though I was still unemployed. I took probiotics to restore my destroyed gut flora and I believe it really did help and that my depressive state was caused by the antibiotics killing all my good bacteria.

    I just did a group project on something along these lines. I'd be all for finding how altering your microbial flora can help anxiety and depression. A lot of those medications have not fun side effects, and it'd be interesting to see if this method would be a better way of helping without such negative side effects.

    I love the realization that I am basically a hive mind of microorganisms.
    I would also love scifi style symbiotic nanomachines that also affect my personality, help my body be more efficient at repairing itself, constantly back up my brain encase I need them to reformat a stem cell/tissue engineered replacement if it was killed, and fend off disease/cancer.

    The coolest thing about these new understandings of the micro biome is that relatively simple things like eating more probiotic foods can dramatically influence your body & mind. I started a company to connect more people with DIY Fermentation based on this fact so please reach out to me, or Artisan MN, if you're interested in learning more.

    that really depends on the reason for being a vegetarian. i am a vegetarian for ethical reasons concerning the treatment of animals raised for meat as well as the environmental impact of raising livestock. lab grown meat solves these issues, however, many vegetarian options are still healthier than meat (especially red meat), so i think many vegetarians would stick to a mostly non-meat diet.

If I am in a "strange" environment I notice I tend to be more concerned of what I come in contact with. Also I have HUGE problem with using a public restroom.

    Personality is the psychological immune system. Certain traits offer benefits in some areas while being disadvantageous in others. Personality traits are the claws, fast legs, and sharp senses of the social world. Just physical illness are caused by a combination of an intruder and a failure of the immune system to stop it mental illness is caused by a combination of stessful external stimuli and a failure of your personality to carry you through it.

    I really think no one is in control of themselves. Every decision a person make is a reaction based on what their five senses and knowledge has collected. Think of yourself as a program that rewrites its code every time and the code depends on the type of information you've gathered. In a sense, living things are complex machines while machines are dumb down version of living things.

    You say we're covered in mind control bacteria, what I got from this is more we are the bacteria as well as the animal, we are less a single creature and more a sentient habitat. This leaves me with a strange idea about a sentient forest where the though processes are performed by the animals and plants moving around within, we are this except bacteria = animals and neurons = plants.

    Actually it's that "overlord" aspect which has made me question whether I should really welcome additional bacteria into me through ingesting probiotics and fermented foods. Instead I tend to ingest large quantities of garlic and peppers to kill off the bugs inside me. I do value the sovereignty of my conscious energy afterall. ..But for now, I have conversely been gravitating toward the ingestion of more probiotics, as they do seem to offer alluring benefit. Just this morning I was listening to a woman speak as a health expert on the subject, while telling of her own personal story in dramatic recovery from ill health thanks to priobiotic bacteria. I'm thinking it may be time for me to try it out for awhile. Though eventually I expect to go back to minimizing bacteria in me with fasting and cleansing. Waxing and waning my ways of being for balanced experience.

    • @inochifumetsu
      @inochifumetsu 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow.. dude for someone who sounds smart when you speak, the stuff you're saying you're doing is really stupid.
      Deliberately killing your gut flora / fauna? Jesus I could sit here typing for the rest of the week and not fully cover all of the ridiculously negative health effects that will have on you. The most obvious being malnutrition but there's a list of about a million other things you're going to screw up in yourself if you're actually successful in killing off your gut flora / fauna.. or any of the other symbiotic microbes that live in you / on you.
      Moral of the story: Don't deliberately kill your microbiome...

    • @theslothmonkey
      @theslothmonkey 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well thanks for the commentary, but fasting and cleansing is surely not something I would be so quick to sluff off like that. While it can be bad in various ways, under the wrong circumstances, similar things could be said for any extreme practice. But the bottom line is that I've definitely felt some important benefit from it in my experience, and personal experience is something I value as a reliable factor in deliberating truth. Freeing my body from dependance on it's normal sources of sustenance has forced my hand in confronting emotional awareness that was otherwise buried by food (or other related factors) and has provided me opportunity in learning how to sustain my preferred (healthy feeling, clear thinking) way of being through lighter means, less dependent on otherwise killing or assimilating organisms for food and being (mis)led by their energy. That being said, it's rare for me to fast, though I normally have a light diet, fairly water based, and am currently including a fair amount of probiotics (kombucha, yogurt, kimchi, sourkraut, pills, etc.) in order to have the experience and a little help in feeling comfortably capable during a temporary period of time that'll be more demanding of me for the next few months. ..After that I'd like to slow down again and fast for awhile, with the help of sunlight, air, water, and conscious focus. But then, who knows how weak or hardcore I'll go with that. Thanks again for the opinion. Later bro.

    • @inochifumetsu
      @inochifumetsu 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      theslothmonkey
      Well.. you're clearly not stupid.. a little on the spiritual side but not dumb..
      Whatever floats ur boat I guess.. but personal experience is subjective not objective - and deliberately killing off the symbiotic life that we EVOLVED with.. over 1000's of years?? That's like deliberately killing off your mitochondria.. I mean do what you like but uh... yeah.. have fun with that.. :/

    • @theslothmonkey
      @theslothmonkey 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Will do. Thanks for the concern. I value caution, but must weigh that also with experience that promises (whether in actuality or delusion) important opportunity for possible development in health, awareness, learning, and evolution. I respect nature and ways of the past, and attempt to work cooperatively with all of that. But you're right that I view myself as largely based in spirit (as a Conscious being), as I do not submit the entirety of my being to physicality, and so I am willing to attempt a gradual overcoming of physical (/subconscious or unconscious) forces, even at risk to my balanced state in otherwise relying on comfortable patterns of the natural past.
      Also, on the note of subjectivity, I consider all things in existence relative to perspective, thus all things are subjective; but "objectivity" may have meaning as collective judgement of subjective truth, so yes that's a valid point in that sense. Though I do tend to trust more in the intimate familiarity of my individual experience, over too much faith in what appears to me as questionable beliefs held by others; while still including consideration for all that runs counter to my personal judgement of probable truth. In other words, I listen and keep an open mind, but I prefer to think for myself and personally test my beliefs, rather than follow the herd.
      ..But enough said, you've heard my rationale and I'll consider your thoughts as well. Have a good one.
