    In olden days ( during 1955 or so ) , all the traditional kshatriya families used to dine before sunset and used to get up before 5.30 Am. Here is an example, how the last generation people were enjoying sound sleep. During the year 1965, I came from Maharastra with my family. Last bus to my VILLAGE was at 8.30 PM. When I knocked my main door, no body opened the door ,because of sound sleep of my family . That night , we slept in our chavidi/ varanda. Our building is having 14 rooms and the season was winter. This may be one of the reasons for not reaching our voice to family members.

    In my opinion during resting sleep body autofunctions related digestion , rejuniva tion,storing energy,discarding wast and harmful items plays part .after that many body auto functions stops leaving🎉 body parts to take slumber deep sleep.taking light food helps to digest fast sparing more time for slumber sleep.early light food as you said gives more time forsound sleep

      It requires training to the brain as well. Some self control is needed. I followed when I was a student. I used to sleep around 9:30 pm and I used to wake up around 4am with out any alarms
