    Awesome taking me along for the ride. My parents lived in Ardrishaig the other side of the crinan canal a beautiful place. Scotland is an incredible place and it must be fantastic to see it from the sea. Best wishes😁

      Thanks Alastair. Nice to hear a few people are watching. I've loved it. Back at work on the Ilse of Wight at the moment - Really looking forward to getting back to the boat and the Hebrides soon..

    Lovely! Well done! Ailsa Craig seems to follow you for miles. I used to live in the West of Scotland so that brought back a lot of happy memories.

    Great sailing around the calf, specially with the dolphins and if you’re lucky with the basking sharks. Nice to see my little island on TH-cam.

    You might want to get a pole for your headsail to use when going downwind. Enjoyed your video. Always wanted to go to Mull with my niece.

    I can't see a tiller pilot/wind vane, what do you use for self steering? I'm also interested what camera you use for filming with no wind noise? Thanks

    • @NeilWilliamsGallery
      @NeilWilliamsGallery  ปีที่แล้ว

      All the filming an editing for TH-cam are done on my iphone 13. That's it. And I have a tiller pilot when it's not broken. You can see the more recent videos when I make do with a rubber band on the tiller...

    • @jesbates8611
      @jesbates8611 ปีที่แล้ว

      @NeilWilliamsGallery yes, sorry about the trials and tribulations of your tiller pilot, it's tough solo without something. I think you said you were getting a replacement at Ramsgate

    • @jesbates8611
      @jesbates8611 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NeilWilliamsGallery I guess the iPhone has some wind noise canceling software. I found that very frustrating on my footage

    Ironically enough my Contessa 26 is named "Kintyre".

    Hello one question, which license do I need to sail in uk?

    • @NeilWilliamsGallery
      @NeilWilliamsGallery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm no expert, but I don't think you need any.

    • @jesbates8611
      @jesbates8611 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No license needed. Tides are a big part of coastal sailing in the UK so knowledge of passage planning with tidal calculations is important.
