JESSICA I was lived in a women's shelter for 7 months and one time I got a little gift bag that had a lipstick blush and mascara. I was so happy I cried. I brought me so much joy. This! I was going to suggest getting on more PR lists and make a video about donating to the shelters, speaking with the women. I know that’s not the theme of your channel but I see that you want to serve your community and that your faith plays a part in your life. Take the feeling of over saturated consumerism and turn it into a way to help others.
When I heard the siren I immediately thought of what my hubby’s sweet precious grandmother would say “ohhh someone’s having a baby” she would never let you think that it could be a wreck or anything. We always would say a prayer but even our 3.5 year old says oh mommy someone is having a baby! Sweet memories ❤

Happy to know that I’m not the only one that is pairing down my online shopping. I did an audit of my bank account for my online purchases for 2023 and was blown away at the amount of money spent. This was truly eye opening especially after looking around my home and closet. This month is my Dry January for online shopping ! I’ve seen things online that I want, put the items in my cart as “ save for later” then go back after a few days and delete because I’ve not wanted or needed it enough to go to a mall or store to purchase. I added up the amount of the deleted items and added the unspent total to a Vacation Savings account. Online shopping isn’t gone forever but this dry month has shined a spotlight on “ easy buying”.

Many products that you recommended have gone with me through major events. You and Tyler had me in stitches when I felt overwhelmed by my workload. We were taught as kids that when you hear a siren to make the sign of the cross and send a little prayer to whoever is in need. I still do this as an adult.

Having grown in FL but now living in Chicago for 10 years, I can appreciate both. I agree with Jessica, but also there’s a relaxation to not really having seasons. I never felt the pressure to do seasonal things like I do now. It also makes wardrobe management so much easier.

I love that you’re starting to be able to appreciate winters more! I grew up in North Dakota, met my husband in Denver, and we now live in Phoenix. The summers are just too damn hot down here though. I really miss the feeling of a cold wind hitting your face, hot chocolate & fireplaces, that feeling of exhaustion lightened by satisfaction after shoveling the driveway… I’m trying to find happiness with where I live more, but I would happily trade winters hitting -50 degrees over summers hitting 120. Not to be a negative Nancy though!
On the siren thought… occasionally i do say a prayer for whoever is in distress but i ALWAYS say out loud to motorcyclists “get home safe!” Also on the packages you continue receiving that you arent excited about,…. Just return to sender! That way its not waisted and not clutter for you… maybe they’ll get the hint too.
I live in Phoenix where winters are usually in the low 60s. I love our winters but also would love to be able to buy nice winter jackets like yours. I can’t justify it living here!

Where I live on the east coast, we used to get a lot more snow but ever since I graduated in 2017, there’s been almost 0 snow and if there was any, it was so little that it never stuck around very long. Not until last week when it finally snowed and it was so pretty. I ended up going to the library one day and being able to finally see a substantial amount of snow on the ground was really nice. Unfortunately most of it is gone now and today and yesterday it’s been in the 60s. I hope it gets colder again soon and maybe get more snow. I can’t deal with the heat, especially since it makes it really hard to fall asleep

Hi Jess! Yes, I say a prayer anytime I pass an ambulance. 🚑 I got a new job and after several months we all started talking a little more personal. Come to find out one lady’s dad passed in December, another’s passed away in January and my dad passed in February! It was the December ambulance that I specifically remembered praying for and it was the girl I worked withs dad in that ambulance! I thought it was pretty cool! I live in KY about 3 hours from Indy and yes, we are still having winter weather! But tonight January 26th we are having THUNDERSTORMS! Crazy weather, I know! Love your videos, I’ve been watching for 12 years ❤
Happy belated birthday! I live in the NE and it’s been stormy, snowy, foggy for weeks. Trying to romanticize winter and think of it as cozy rather than gloomy helps for sure, but there’s nothing like a crisp, clear winter day, especially at sunrise and sunset. There is less humidity in the air so everything is so clear, it’s like the sunset and night sky are in HD. Pro tip for the stickers: you can arrange the stickers on the back of your Kindle and just carefully lay the case over it. It makes it so much easier to see the design/layout.

You’re right Jessica snow is so beautiful when it’s just falling and clean and white. We got our first real snow a few weeks ago and it was so pretty. Lots of shovelling though. Now it’s all melted and raining. Which I’m not a fan of. We get hard winters but with climate change not like we used to. I hope the two of you have another baby. You’re such great parents. Love the stickers! I use them in art journaling and find it so relaxing. I also did a retreat day for my staff at work, with the focus being self-care and mindfulness. I love that you’re starting to be able to appreciate winters more! I grew up in North Dakota, met my husband in Denver, and we now live in Phoenix. The summers are just too damn hot down here though. I really miss the feeling of a cold wind hitting your face, hot chocolate & fireplaces, that feeling of exhaustion lightened by satisfaction after shoveling the driveway… I’m trying to find happiness with where I live more, but I would happily trade winters hitting -50 degrees over summers hitting 120. Not to be a negative Nancy though!
On the siren thought… occasionally i do say a prayer for whoever is in distress but i ALWAYS say out loud to motorcyclists “get home safe!”
Also on the packages you continue receiving that you arent excited about,…. Just return to sender! That way its not waisted and not clutter for you… maybe they’ll get the hint too.
I live in Phoenix where winters are usually in the low 60s. I love our winters but also would love to be able to buy nice winter jackets like yours. I can’t justify it living here!

Jessica, I just decorated my Kindle the same way, and I love it. With the type of stickers you are using, you can just put the Kindle screen down and arrange them on the back, and then pop the clear case over the top. It's so much easier! (Not being snarky, here. I started working on mine the same way you did! 😊 )

Where I live on the east coast, we used to get a lot more snow but ever since I graduated in 2017, there’s been almost 0 snow and if there was any, it was so little that it never stuck around very long. Not until last week when it finally snowed and it was so pretty. I ended up going to the library one day and being able to finally see a substantial amount of snow on the ground was really nice. Unfortunately most of it is gone now and today and yesterday it’s been in the 60s. I hope it gets colder again soon and maybe get more snow. I can’t deal with the heat, especially since it makes it really hard to fall asleep

Hi Jess! Yes, I say a prayer anytime I pass an ambulance. 🚑 I got a new job and after several months we all started talking a little more personal. Come to find out one lady’s dad passed in December, another’s passed away in January and my dad passed in February! It was the December ambulance that I specifically remembered praying for and it was the girl I worked withs dad in that ambulance! I thought it was pretty cool! I live in KY about 3 hours from Indy and yes, we are still having winter weather! But tonight January 26th we are having THUNDERSTORMS! Crazy weather, I know! Happy belated birthday! I live in the NE and it’s been stormy, snowy, foggy for weeks. Trying to romanticize winter and think of it as cozy rather than gloomy helps for sure, but there’s nothing like a crisp, clear winter day, especially at sunrise and sunset. There is less humidity in the air so everything is so clear, it’s like the sunset and night sky are in HD.
Pro tip for the stickers: you can arrange the stickers on the back of your Kindle and just carefully lay the case over it. It makes it so much easier to see the design/layout.

You’re right Jessica snow is so beautiful when it’s just falling and clean and white. We got our first real snow a few weeks ago and it was so pretty. Lots of shovelling though. Now it’s all melted and raining. Which I’m not a fan of. We get hard winters but with climate change not like we used to. I hope the two of you have another baby. You’re such great parents. The children are so lucky. I had 3 and it was perfect.

Love the stickers! I use them in art journaling and find it so relaxing. I also did a retreat day for my staff at work, with the focus being self-care and mindfulness. We used those to decorate journals, incorporate into rock painting, etc. So much fun, even for those of us who aren't artistic. I never thought about doing it for my Kindle case. I've never heard anyone talk about praying when they hear a siren but I love that! I'm a 911 dispatcher so trust me when I tell you, I hear a lot of sirens and say a lot of prayers!
