So I'm 55 yrs and I remember when I was 6-7, my mom caught me being mean verbally to my friend. I don't remember what I said, but looking back, the lesson learned was to accept responsibility for your actions and apologize and mean it. Kids may hear the inflection in our tone of voice and imitate that but not understand what that can mean when said in an upset situation. We are not perfect humans, and thank God for beautiful realistic people like yourself. Give yourself grace and patience ❤❤
I love that you share the realistic parts of parenting chaos in the way you do. You’re sharing your family in a respectful way and keeping your children safe. I adore your family and was so happy to see this video!😊
2:32. NOW WAIT A MINUTE, Tyler! You said you would not do a "whole big thing" about that camera but when have you ever explained something to us that was NOT a "whole big thing?!" LOL! We love you! And we love your long explanations of whatever it is!
I just have to say you are a great mama! I loved how you reacted to the orange juice spill, and the talk you had with Genevieve. It is so refreshing to see a new generation brought up this way.
Your sponsorship ads are the only ones I don’t ever skip. You do them so professionally, but honestly within the vlog. There are some creators that drive me bonkers with their ad transitions, but you don’t.
Thank you for talking about the real parts. I’m an exhausted mom with a bad temper. I’ve decided to start therapy to handle stressful moments better. I’m really proud of myself. 😊
“We are NOT watching Scott’s Tots!” 😂 I laughed so hard at your reaction because I feel the exact same way. Just cannot watch that one. And as always, thanks for being real. I’m a mom of 3 and can totally relate to everything you shared ❤
I just made a special cup of coffee with whipped cream and homemade caramel sauce and sat down while my newborn is gloriously asleep to see a new video from you. This is perfection! 💕
as a new mom (5m) I do really really appreciate the insight. So many uf us are worried we aren't organized enough. It's okay guys, we're gonna figure it out as we go along with our kids. It's healthy to rolemodel a person that is willing to learn and become better. Failing is part of that.
“Let” my kids eat in the living room so I can have lunch in peace in the dining room while watching this. 😅 I so so so appreciate your realistic chat with us about parenting and real scenarios. Sometimes I “snap” at my daughter as well and even though we talk it through and apologize to each other as well, I cry myself to sleep at night from guilt. Something I need to work on, but I just want to be the best me for my littles. I also taught 5th graders and saying “you know what, I don’t know and I don’t want to give you the wrong information” makes them go 😮 😂
Jessica, thank you for your honesty and vulnerability regarding having trouble getting out the door on time and challenges with daily parenting issues. I thought that was a very brave choice and I admire you so much for that! It is easy for viewers to put TH-cam content creators up on pedestals and then become depressed because their life is so messed up in comparison. IMO comparison is the enemy of contentment, but it is still a hard impulse to resist. Thank you also for sharing part of your spiritual life, like when you talked about joining a new Bible study group and showed us the new study Bible you recently purchased. It is encouraging to see other Christians "work out their faith" in their everyday lives, relationships, and decision making. God bless you and your beautiful family! ❤🙏🎉
As a mom of a 5 year old and a 3 year old, I am learning that self-regulation is such a huge part of parenting. Their emotions can't be my emotions and I have to stay calm for them. But man, I know it isn't easy. Solidarity out there mama.
Jessica!! I am SO thankful for this video. I'm in a similar season of life with 3 littles, and sometimes I just wonder how you are always so put together. And it almost feels like a relief to know that it's just a bit chaotic for everyone in this stage of life. THANK YOU!! (I also feel the "too much input" thing so often!!) 💖
Hi Jessica! Thank you so much for being realistic about the minor things that happened during your morning routine. It made me feel so much better. I have four kids 7 and under and getting everyone fed and out the door by myself is so challenging. I will be so hard on myself if there’s even one little tiny argument and have to raise my voice and I need to learn that as long as I try my best that’s all I can do. LOVE this video!
Thank you for sharing the hard time of being a parent. I’ve been going through the same thing this week and this made me feel like I’m not alone. ❤ thank you ❤
So thankful for your honesty about your challenging morning. It's often SO easy to compare our day to day life with what we see online. So thanks for sharing!
My kids are 7 and 14 and some days it’s still hard to get them out the door on time. It’s definitely less of an issue now, but there are days. Do as much as you possibly can the night before. That’s my best trick, and if you can start getting ready before you planned to start getting ready.
You could always mix in your 'regular' loose powder in the loose bronzer to lighten it a bit. The Laura Mercier loose powder with a glow, ala Hourglass ambient powder, would be stunning!
Happy Friday, dear Jessie! I took advantage of your suggestion with Brooklinen and bought my parents a set of sheets (along with matching Mickey and Minnie pj’s…channeling their inner child) and my 25 year old daughter a Brooklinen robe like you find in high end hotels! I also ordered a lot from your Amazon list as gifts! It will be like you are with us on Christmas morning! I remember the chaotic morning of getting ready to teach with 2 little ones (I have daughters who are 16 months apart). The stress is real! Now I’m still teaching, but the girls are 25 and 26 and off on their own. I have a whole new kind of stress with anxiety that always hits hard first thing in the morning. I stress over my hair terribly and makeup as well. Everyone always says I look great, but I’m my worst critic and stress cut my hair. No one understands stress and anxiety unless you have lived with it. You help me get ready each morning and I’m wearing your old Vlogmas videos out right now! You are like part of my family! Thank you for filling a void in my life and providing me with laughter, love and entertainment!! Hugs and love! 😘 Susan in Maryland
Thank you so much for sharing the struggles of being a parent! I feel like such a bad parent sometimes if I don't have time to tidy bedrooms or if I get annoyed or stressed because no one really talks about it! Nice to hear it from someone like yourself 🫶
Jess, I just wanted to pop in here and say that I was looking for a new sheet set and wanted to try out 100% linen - I remembered that you were sponsored by Brooklinen so I went looking and found this video, clicked on your link and just got a beautiful "raisin" (plummy-burgundy-ish), 100% linen California King set for $152!! The regular price was $300 something but with the "give us your email" discount of 15% on top of their 50% off this set, it was a steal. I usually get white or lighter colored sheets so I'm also excited to break out of my comfort zone and have an unusual color. Just wanted to encourage others to use your links when they can -- it's an easy way to support your channel when you would have bought the items anyway! Cheers! ❤
Appreciate the real talk. Just wait till you get to the attitude during the teenage years! I have a 14 year old and around 12 the attitude really started and it would set me off so badly. I had to figure out how to not be so reactive because having an attitude back to them and getting really activated and emotional only fuels their attitude, and like you said, sets a bad example for them. Something that’s so important for kids from an early age is teaching them how to identify, talk about, and process their feelings in a healthy way. I think learning emotional regulation and modeling it for your children is so critical (and can be so difficult when you don’t grow up with it having been modeled for you). And then when you learn how to process your feelings properly, you make so much more space in your emotional container and that allows you to not “snap” as easily over the little things.
Jess…. I have been watching you since before you had your first baby and I know you dont need the advice but I just wanted to say being a mom as well is that you are an amazing mom and mornings are always stressful, give yourself a breath. You are a wonderful person and mom!!! Love your content and have enjoyed watching your family over the years!!!!
Im not a mom, but i remember my nephew when he was young, he had the same hot head temper as my brother, and when hed throw a temper id sit down and have a talk with him and his mood woukd immediately change. Its so important to do this. Start it off young. My brother and his wife also do this with him too still and hes such a good kid. He is so level headed now at 10 and its amazing
When you said “We are not doing Scott’s Tots, are you kidding me!” I laughed out loud. I do the same thing! That episodes cringe level makes my skin crawl I can’t handle it 🤣
Jess, you are not alone! Mornings with kids are just chaos haha. That’s when I’m my most anxious and grumpy. My kids are 10 and 7 and I still haven’t figured out mornings. It’s a great teaching moment. I apologize when I yell, take some deep breaths, explain that I’m frustrated and I didn’t handle myself well and ask to try again. I think it’s also creating empathy, so they understand when people are upset, they might not act like themselves and may need some understanding.
It cracks me up when you say "You know what I mean". My mom and I were having a conversation and she stopped and said do you realize you said "You know what I mean 3 times in this conversation. I hadn't realized it and as the conversation went on my mom said it 3 times and I pointed it out and we had a good laugh. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. We were wondering where we came up with saying it. I think it's a Midwest thing you know what I mean 🤣
Keep up the great work mom❤ I love that that u both apologized to each other… I do that with my son and I feel like it sinks in so much more than just letting it go and not talking about it… I hate when adults say , do as I say, not as I do ,bc they watch EVERYTHING we do and model their behavior off ours. Being able to admit when 1 is wrong and say sorry is so important for kids but especially adults❤❤
This was a nice suprise. Always love your Vlogs. Excited for a weekend video. And love and respect how open and honest you are. thank you for being real. And a good role model. We are just about the same age. But i have honestly learned so much from you.
Jessica can you please try the Ulta Beauty cream blush/bronzer/highlight stacks and tell us what you think!! I just bought them and I think I really like them but I haven’t seen anyone talk about them?? thank you!!
Grrrrr I JUST ordered a hardcore bundle, pillow cases and a down comforter yesterday!!!! My first order and of course I miss a stacked sale lol still excited for it to come
I just found the perfect starbucks xmas drink if you like peppermint. I ordered a Tall skinny vanilla latte with 1 pump of peppermint. I think I will play with the sizes next and order a grande with a pump and half and maybe a venti with 2 pumps lol I have tried just a regular latte with peppermint but it has been too bitter.
Thank you for talking about what really goes on behind the camera! It feels so easy to compare to youtubers that share a perfect image when it isn't realistic! Also, Jessie, can you share the link for the toy/bookshelf in Felicity's room? I was trying to find it under your Amazon, but it didn't show up. 😭
I always enjoy your vlogs. 🧡 I love that you set boundaries with email. I wish I could only answer emails once a day, but I'm an attorney and that's not possible. Just another reason to change careers. 😅
☕️☕️☕️☕️I have been trying to find that coffee in my Costco for years because of you guys! You talked so highly of it one year in a Vlogmas and I screenshoted Tyler holding the bag in Costco and I always have to open the photo whenever I’m in Costco to see if I can find it. I live in Florida and I guess in this blog we have discovered why I can’t find it! 😂❤
I definitely feel stressed out or touched out. I always explain to my daughter mommy is overwhelmed right now so please be patient . I always apologize to her and tell her I love her .
I know how much you love books and o do too! For book club we read a gun book called the wife app and it talks about the mental load we as moms deal with
Love a good morning routine video and really appreciate the honest talk you had about the realistic parts of life that happen off camera ♥️ The camera looks and sounds so good and it’s so compact! I’m definitely interested in getting it, myself. I’ve been toying with the idea of trying Brooklinen out and I think I’m finally going to bite the bullet! Thanks for another great video 🤗
Sadly, our 4-legged bestest boy, Roscoe, passed away earlier this year. We have the Google Nest in our kitchen (with the screen), and had a recurring reminder for the morning and evenings to prompt us in case someone else had/hadn't fed him already. It doesn't chime or anything, but displays on the screen until someone clears it. I wish we had figured that out sooner, it was so helpful in a busy household with everyone sharing all the tasks.
Thanks for the real parent talk! I have 4 teenage daughters and its no joke right now and decision making is so hard for every step of their life school etc .
I so very much wish that I could have been a better mother when my kids were small. I’ve been told by my husband that I was calmer than he was, and that helped me a lot to have his support. As a mama of 9 kids, 7 boys and 2 daughters, mornings during the school week was rough. I did everything that I could at night to help make mornings flow a bit easier, but getting everyone in the car to be dropped off at three locations-high school, middle school and elementary school-was really difficult, but we somehow did it. When my oldest started driving, it helped a lot!! I appreciate you sharing the fact that you have normal challenging moments as a parent. It’s too easy for us, your audience, to believe that in your life, it’s so easy and smooth every morning. Having a large family, my younger 5 kids are a bit envied by the older 4 because my oldest son who is #2 child, said that his younger siblings got a calmer mother, which sadly, I was. After #3 kid, I knew what needed my attention and discipline and what didn’t. That same son has three kids of his own now. He told me one day that I was at his house, that he has struggles with his two daughters who are the oldest. The girls get upset over little things as they’re getting ready for school and he finds it hard not to get upset himself. His youngest is a son who is autistic. Having a child with special needs, adds a whole other layer of challenges. My son sometimes calls me to help him with his son since my son works from home. I love being there to help my son in any way I can. One day in the past 6 months, it was an especially difficult time. My son came to me and told me that he now sees me in a different light. He said he knew that he gave me a hard time too many times to count but yet I still was loving to him no matter what. My son then apologized for making being his mother such a burden. He then hugged me, thanking me for always being willing to be there to help him and for always loving him. In that moment, everything I had gone through as an extremely busy mother of 9 kids was worth it. I had 3 sons who were in special education and they had learning difficulties. I was constantly at the school, in IEP meetings and at doctors appointments to make sure I was doing all that I could to help my children in every way….and yet I still felt that I wished I could have been a better parent. I know that my kids know that they were very loved. I have a couple of them who are currently not speaking to me but they do know how much they are loved by me as well. I poured out myself and loved being their mother more than words can say. God gave them to me on loan and one day, I pray that He tells me that I did very well with them….🙏🌈♥️…
One of my favorite things about you and your home is that it’s NORMAL. You’re house isn’t this blank white museum that looks unlived in and lifeless. I get so tired of seeing influencers have these houses that look very stale, even if it’s pretty. You’re home looks cozy, homey, warm, and comfortable.
Hey Jessica, you mentioned in one of your reviews your absolute favorite nude lip liner, you also said it could be used by itself?? Going shopping this week to find it if you can get back asap? ❤️
I have started eating boiled eggs with cottage with the EBB seasoning because of you. IT IS good. I like my eggs more hard-boiled, though. Thanks for the meal idea.
I mostly use captions but the sound on the new camera sounds much better than whatever camera you use for your sit down videos, I don't know if its just me but those sound far away.
I think I’m going to try that talking back thing with my 19 year old. He’s been pushing the buttons a little too much lately. I don’t care how old he is I am still the Mama Bear! I think this scenario works at any age.

Jessica: Making our bed
And by “our bed” you mean Pinocchio’s squishy spot ❤❤❤
And there he is! Lol
Jess, I love your Pinocchio voice 🤣🤣❤️❤️
Thank you for talking about the real parts. I’m an exhausted mom with a bad temper. I’ve decided to start therapy to handle stressful moments better. I’m really proud of myself. 😊
“We are NOT watching Scott’s Tots!” 😂 I laughed so hard at your reaction because I feel the exact same way. Just cannot watch that one. And as always, thanks for being real. I’m a mom of 3 and can totally relate to everything you shared ❤
When you mentioned your vlogs at the end Jess, the first thing that popped into my head was “AGH VLOGMAS W THE BRAUNS!”🎄❄️ So excited!❤🤗

I had an AWFUL week where I could have used a talking to about how to talk to those I love even when angry ❤ I pray about that daily
The new camera makes it seem like you’re on a green screen…just me?🤦♀️😂 happy for another vlog! Counting down to vlogmas💖
"Pick an upper and a lower and we're out the door!" LOL! That needs to be printed on a pillow. 😄
Hi Jessica! Thank you so much for being realistic about the minor things that happened during your morning routine. It made me feel so much better. I have four kids 7 and under and getting everyone fed and out the door by myself is so challenging. Oh my gosh...my heart just melted (9:10) with Pinocchio all snuggled up on the pillows! Reminds me of my beagle- I miss her so much!❤❤
Good morning everyone ❤
OMG Pinocchio is so adorable 3:16 💕
I love how every Office fan skips Scott’s Tots when it comes back around. So hard to watch!🫣😂
I love the more realistic content as a mom myself I love seeing the more relatable and less edited parts of parenthood
Thank you for sharing the hard time of being a parent. I’ve been going through the same thing this week and this made me feel like I’m not alone. ❤ thank you ❤
This has total vlogmas vibes and I’m SO EXCITED!! 2 more weeks!!
So thankful for your honesty about your challenging morning. It's often SO easy to compare our day to day life with what we see online. So thanks for sharing!
Gigi sounds like your mini me with her morning checklist lol. Has to be organized!
I love how you’re like, “We’re not doing Scott’s Tots today”. Haha I totally did the same thing. Sometimes it’s just too much cringe for that day 😂
Petition for more Pinocchio🥹❤️ he is so handsome!
My kids are 7 and 14 and some days it’s still hard to get them out the door on time. It’s definitely less of an issue now, but there are days. Do as much as you possibly can the night before. That’s my best trick, and if you can start getting ready before you planned to start getting ready.

Pinocchio looks so cozy . 😊

I would love to see how the duvet covers look and which comforter you have besides the sheets ❤
Can't wait for Vlog Mas. My hubby even watches it with me.
I look so forward to the dog on the pillows of her vlogs ❤❤❤😊😊
Perfect start to a Friday!! have a great weekend everyone!
Currently struggling with our newborn and was thinking you make parenting look easy. So I appreciate your real talk about it!❤

So excited for Vlogmas! I've randomly remembered it's coming up a couple times in the past week. Something to look forward to!
That bronzer looks great on you!
This was a nice suprise. Always love your Vlogs. Excited for a weekend video. And love and respect how open and honest you are. thank you for being real. And a good role model. We are just about the same age. But i have honestly learned so much from you.
😂😂😂my dining room looks the same😂😂😂that's where the miscellaneous things go to rest for a while 😂😂😂 so glad I'm not the only one❤
Jess, that’s the lightest color in the Covergirl bronzer ❤
Love this type of vlog!!❤️somehow so feel good and motivating. Thank you!

I would love to see an evening routine!!!
Yay new vlog!
I just found the perfect starbucks xmas drink if you like peppermint. I ordered a Tall skinny vanilla latte with 1 pump of peppermint. I think I will play with the sizes next and order a grande with a pump and half and maybe a venti with 2 pumps lol
I have tried just a regular latte with peppermint but it has been too bitter.
Thank you ❤
Thank you for talking about what really goes on behind the camera!
😂😂
Thinking about when I was growing up eight kids getting ready for the day !!
Thank you for always including #ANISABeauty brushes in your routine! 😍💜
For book club we read a gun book called the wife app and it talks about the mental load we as moms deal with
Love a good morning routine video and really appreciate the honest talk you had about the realistic parts of life that happen off camera ♥️
The camera looks and sounds so good and it’s so compact!
Looked it up while you very putting on makeup the Covergirl bronzer comes in 3 shades ❤❤❤❤❤
Oooooh yeah!!!! So beyond excited for this video!!!! 🎉
LOVE VLOGS!
Hi Jess! What glasses are you wearing at the start? Im guessing its warby parker but what model/design? 😅
You have to get Bay’s English Muffins! They’re in the refrigerated part of grocery near the eggs and cheese! So much better than Thomas 😉
Yay! Happy Friday Jess!!!
Love this vlog! When do you guys go to Disney again? I got Dec 5th!!❤
I search for that coffee (your fave one) at my Costco and couldn’t find it. I live in AZ. I may order it online.
I think I’m going to try that talking back thing with my 19 year old. He’s been pushing the buttons a little too much lately. I don’t care how old he is I am still the Mama Bear! I think this scenario works at any age.
