The suits are the bean counters that control allocation of energy to all machines and programs. The Analysist talks about how expensive it was to rebuild Neo and Trinity, comparing them to remodeling a house. He had to convince them the energy cost was worth it. I think the Analysist is playing 4d chess and knew Neo and Trinity would play into his plan. He is letting them "remake" the Matrix when in reality they digging deeper into the hole for all humans.

City 01 is not the first city. in computing and coding the first item on a list is 0 then 1, 2, 3... Look at versions sometimes you will see v. 0.12 etc. for computing 0 is the start point not 1
The suits are the villains mentioned throughout the movie: "Warner Brothers, our parent company."
In the story, they are the ones making everything happen and inserting their own ideas that must be very diplomatically shut down.
The Suits want the Matrix to be rebooted.

I think that you're right. In my opinion, the Analyst is Lana Wachowski (the force that powers the story), and the suits are the employers (WB). It's parallel to the Half-Life series, where G-man is a representation of the screenwriter (the cosmic force that drives the story), and his employers are Valve itself. It has been previously proven that Matrix Resurrections is mainly meta.

When I think about it a bit more, I come to the conclusion that a lot of Lana can be in Tom. WB forces Tom to create Matrix 4 (with or without him), Tom is besieged by the marketing department defining what Matrix is and should be (visible facepalm by Tom). Throughout most of the movie, Tom remembers how to return to the role of Neo and eventually finds his own path against the Suits.
The "suits" would be machines in charge of resource distribution and production. They probably weren't necessary roles until the creation of 01. That's probably where they began.
With the civil war between machines due to energy distribution I wonder how the roles might have splintered and changed compared to pre-Neo.
I think "the suits" actually represent the mainframe's operating system.

I still think the original Architect is one of the "Suits," and perhaps the Upgrade Agents from Reloaded as well. Deus Ex Machina is almost certainly one of them.

They should combine Constantine and the matrix for there next installment.
Suits is just a translation to human terms of the "boss AIs". If I had to guess, on dedicated "bare metal", not 'virtualised' like the AIs we see in the movies. My feel for hierarchy of AIs is : suits (supervisory AIs, immobile IRL though maybe distributed, huge and with "waldo" appendages), unitary Mobile AIs of various scales and forms, "software only" forms that need "spaces" like the matrix to inhabit like the Merovingian and thus terminatable, and finally Agents who may in fact partially run on/possess stolen human brains as compute fabric, not true AIs at all, explaining Smiths "actualisation" as a human form IRL and dislike of the "stench" of humanity.

I think the suits are literally the agents and they are the direct enforcers for whoever the leaders are. Or they are a manifestation of the collective consciousness of the machines
The Suits are lower in ranking than the Architect and the Oracle, while they were able to delete them doing the machine war they weren't able to gain access of the source code of the Matrix and the machine city. This is the Key I used to understand that Neo and Trinity hold that code inside their bodies which they tried to extract and decode with no luck.
Now Neo and Trinity have full control of both worlds and are in a position to control and delete even the Suits and destroy machines. But rules are changed.
I think the suits have been there since or before the creation of 01. I think they exist in the physical world but can enter the Matrix if they want, like wireless jacking in.

Thanks for making this video. Your deep dive into these topics is mind blowing to me. Before the mention of “The Suits” in Resurrections I thought Duex Ex Machina was the all controlling dictator of the Machines. But it seems it’s more like a counsel where consensus needs to be reached before any thing is done. In which case I agree with the ones you mentioned as the possible Suits - the ones in the Animatrix, and possibly the Architect, Analyst, and even the Oracle.
I thought The Suits as the physical manifestation of The Architect and The Oracle.
I mean one of the Suit specifically The Architect is the physical manifestation named Deus Ex Machina which Neo perceives as the Sun or the artificial spirit of machine in the machine world.
I just thought what's the Suit of Oracle be? Maybe moon.
Could the machine couple in the animatrix be the programs known as the Merovingian and Persephone?

the suits are all those who form the baby face of Deus X Maquina in present times, but the digital consciousness of those u mentioned and many other early sentient programs within machines of the early days.
The suits are probably the different AI entity's that started it all. If so I go the the story, I have no mouth but I must scream, in which it's 3 different main Ai part of an overall system and the reason that system does what it does to humans is NOT for an energy source; but because it hates humans and wants to torture them.

I think the next logical step in the storyline is the humans and machines teem up against the aliens.
Suits would be the administrators and supervisors. these terms are access and control identifiers.
I'm trying to get a handle on why The Analyst's appearance keeps changing (his hair and dress). I hope there is more to it than the Actor simply got a hair cut.
The suits is just a term often used for people higher up the power hierarchy. Usually the ones with the most power. Similar to when people say 'the powers that be...' So in this case, the suits either literally means deux ex machina, or the programs below deus ex machina which allocate and handle resources for the machines. EDIT: the suits are not agents. Agents are just very low level programs that reside in the matrix and hunt for exiles (free humans). They just so happen to wear suits.

The Suits are a refferance to the agents, i thought it is actual in one of the movies.
And they are not in the new matrix 4, its matrix. So i suppose they are in the real world.

I think nhe suits are just the agents left over from the previous matrix. They are often hanging around in the background. I suspect that the architect and the Oracle insomuch as programs can be dead.

What if machines have a soul just like a human and they can change their form, from machine, to digital sentience, to human even (why not though? Smith was able to jump into a human body and take it over) when they die or get destroyed in one form? What if only unique forms of digital intelligence are capable of having that ability and can be anything they choose to 😊? What if neo finds out that he was one of these entities? Not making a joke here btw, but I'm going with dejavu the cat as a potential major player, it's always there at the major player events and I know there is something deeply disturbing about that cat.
One philosophy element of the matrix, introduces the idea, that everything is a simulation, Thomas wakes up and finds that his world is a simulation, and from that point on, he can never be sure that anything real exist.
@@thesmilegame if using the term simulation then it's implied that there is a "reality" (a world beyond) which enables that simulation, isn't it?
The concept of Boltzmann brain feels weird for me: if some underlying reality (mechanisms and/or computations) creates spontaneously something like a super-brain, why would it "construct" (virtually) such a universe that highly resembles the structures that enabled its existence?
If that super-brain is created by ones and zeros then it stands to reason that it will understand its world to be a simulation. In a simulation the real is just a story. A mistake that is often made, is that we think the simulation is created in terms of the technology used in the simulation. So we imagine some super computer might make a simulation possible, yet if in a simulation it would be impossible for a simulated being to figure out the tech that made the simulation possible. @@Littleprinceleon

Wellllllllllllllll...... There goes another movie idea down the drain.
The suits are probably just another control program of the machines. Like the machines are obsessed with controlling everything with complex systems and different programs so far.
Assuming Deus Ex Machina is the central hub of some sort of advanced political system of the machines. Every program linked to it could be some sort of different expression or try of intelligence/consciousness (keep in mind machine consciousness is not created by chance like humans but by intent).
Since machines are not really omniscient and their origins and even present existence is still very much based and linked to humanity they probably tried to solve their very own internal problems with their own kinda abstract "political systems".
Compare that to our real world politics for example. Political system are rather complex on how power distributed and it almost always has it flaws and people make mistakes. Because again, nobody is omniscient, we are always learning. So are the machines. And much like humans in human societies there are machines higher up at the food chain (in comparison to humans for example Judges, politicians and so on) and machines that are lower in the system and don't hold that much power. We don't know exactly how the political system of the machines work but they must follow some sort of system of power and going by what i saw so far it's rather on the autocratic side.
Keep in mind the machines in Matrix are not one single machine like AI like in Terminator. They are basically a new artificial lifeform that tries to find their way in the universe. And humanity was one of their main templates for doing so.
So the matrix trilogy was some sort of revolution going on inside the political system the machines have. We know that similar to many revolutions happening to humanity part of the leadership of them was made responsible for their previous failures and then "killed".
Then they probably reformed into a new system or are still in the process. Since we don't know exactly how their political system worked at all to begin with we can't exactly say how much the system really changed, especially for the better. We only see the effects on humanity and the matrix. Which likely makes up some significant part of their system but it's not nearly everything. Like for example only banks in humanity society or something. Pretty important and central but not everything to it.
Maybe the suits are programs specifically designed to keep the higher echelons of the system in check or something but can't do much more beyond that. They are machines after all, most of their designs are rather specific in purpose.
Typical human beings Im all for machines they wanted to live in peace alongside humanity

The matrix Is an internal analogy. The simulation and the matrix is your subconscious. The suits is your encoded life you can break free from your lot, and create your own reality. Why did the machines just stay in one area? They could have expanded and created other Matrix.. Matrix 4 was the Biggest disappointment of any movie franchise that I have seen, I loved the 3 previous Matrix movies. This last one put me off from wanting to seen any further Matrix Movies. What a clusterfuck and massive waste of money and talent.
Lana really hates Warner Brothers executives, hence the most powerful villains are suits. I disagree with Wachowski. being an evil WB executive with life and death power over content creators is where it's at! Yes, I'm looking at you, Matrix Explained Guy!
