38:38, it is not Eli that is going to New York city. it is the real Big Boss infiltrating America and going to David. In chapter 3 we were supposed to have 'Peace' which is where Big Boss takes care of david and trains him with the basics of CQC. we were also suppose to reconnect with Campbell... David actually grew up thinking Big Boss was his father until metal gear and then Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake... in those games it is revealed that big boss taugh David everything... but we can all thank Konami's CEO for screwing us all of what would have been the true Magnum Opus of Kojima... else than that your work summarising this game and the others has been amazing!!!

Haha! Seriously, it would probably be easier to learn and become fluent at speaking Mandarin than to try and understand the MGS series. After being exposed long enough to all the talk of government agencies, shady operations, military tactics, snaaaaaake, etc, it all just starts to sound like a bunch of clicks and whistles.
I got tired of trying to unlock Quiet's mission near the end of the game. So, thanks for filling in the stuff that I missed. I'm playing Metal Gear 1 now.

Thank you for breaking the plot in so much detail Amanda, as a huge fan of the Metal Gear series I really wanted to see how Venom Snake meets Solid Snake at the Outer Heaven (after the Diamond Dogs base) to start the original 80s game plot, but the gameplay of Phantom Pain made me drop it at 48% of completion due to the repetitive gameplay. Anyway, Venom Snake gets shot by Solid in the original Metal Gear, Big Boss escapes, White Mamba aka Liquid grows up, and Solid goes for him in the Metal Gear Solid x That's all I needed to know, thanks Amanda x

Hell yeah, I could watch MGS content all day and thought I had exhausted everything on TH-cam until I came across this bad lil boy! Really great vid, you covered this shit out of it which is no small feat for any Kojima game. "A snuke in her snizz," got me laughing pretty good, totally unexpected and something I never expected to hear anyone say I reckon haha. I like to imagine Huey back at Mother Base during the events of Ground Zeros snickering behind the walkie-talkie radio during the between moments when talking with Boss. Huey is about to pull an epic prank on the boys who think they are going to come back to base with everything being all normal, then SURPRISE! Huey pulls a fast one, the rascal! Then once he sees how they react and all the dead bodies he starts to wonder if maybe he went too far or perhaps they just couldn't take a joke. Just picture Huey hiding behind something, rubbing his hands together in anticipation and peeks over only to be shocked to see Boss....isn't even smiling, and also killing guys left and right? I realize this is some insanely stupid shit, but I'll be damned if this sort of thing doesn't amuse me to no end.
Great video While the game is quite confusing and chapter 2 is clearly rushed, I still like it as a game. Good gameplay and strong story aspects honestly cement it as a solid 9/10 for me
He doesn't change it. The face the player choses is the players original look. I believe that Venoms face was changed after the explosion but before the hospital stay so when the doctor holds up the mirror and you make the choice, before that choice is made the doctor is killed. The real Big Boss had a full bandage cover to conceal his face Holding up the mirror was just a natural way for the game to let you customize what the player first thinks is going to be their character but that is cut short by the assassin which is probably meant to leave the player wonder what that was for

Kojima had every intention to make this even a tv series like game with the cutscenes, but the shenanigans with the higher ups at konami (change of CEO mid-production) and the over budget that the acting caused (I suspect even that Kiefer sutherland asked for his contribution to be scrapped to a bare minimum after the debacle) hence why snake has less audio lines than any other character... it was a doomed production ...

The entire storyline is a mess that I can’t unscramble Lmao… So MGS V isn’t actually 5 it’s 1-3 ? This game franchise is soo confusing it hurts my brain thinking about it. So i took it as MGS V is the Fifth MGS game and that is it and not going to have MGS VI (6) anytime soon.
Before I watch the whole video: classic rookie mistake. The only way to get the full main story is to do a great deal, if not all, of side missions … I am already unimpressed…. Facetiously.
This series isn’t supposed to be a deep detailed story, it’s for people who want to know the story in a digestible manner so they don’t have to watch a 5 hour video.
