    Great reivew mate. Cars well built and not over the top, clean lines, clean body, nice fitment. Love these s chassis cars to bits and an owner myself of all the generations. In relation to your question, the s15 is one of the best looking cars to come out of japan, but id admit the rx7 is just that little bit nicer. I love how the drivers seat in closer to the rear wheel, how the roofline sweeps to the boot nicely the nice wheel arches and how it seems the car was built around the driver rather than the car was built and the driver was just placed in there. To consider the chassis remained the same from its release date in 92 up until 00 its stood the test of time and is still considered a beautiful machine even by todays standards. I still to this day want an rx7 but cant bring myself to sell my s15 for one, to own both would be my dream garage

    I helped put this together.
    Turbo is 3076 in a factory housing from gcg.
    It was running close to 20psi, weapon of a car.
    Never sounds like you actually get on it though! Get some boost going
    😅
    Nice to see a honest review, not someone thinking if it hasn't got 600hp the car is slow. 👍

    • @davleberry
      @davleberry ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, @SeenyB and I built this. Definitely not stock turbo or boost. Was about 18-20psi
      Sorry about the lack of aircon haha. Was making roughly 380rwhp, with potential for a heap more..
      Nice review mate. It's weird seeing someone drive, let alone review my old car, so thanks for all the compliments 😅

      @@davleberry was the Rb a bolt in swap or plenty of mods to make it work.

    • @davleberry
      @davleberry ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@79series mostly bolt in. I used the crossmember from an R33 with R33 engine mounts. The gearbox mount is an off the shelf item from RB Factory and the driveshaft is one-piece, cut to length. Using an R32 GTR Radiator coz inlet and outlet are both passenger side on the RB. My fabricator did make some minor adjustments to the RB Turbo dump pipe and S15 exhaust front pipe.
      There are custom engine mount options which I would probably recommend coz they help the engine sit lower and closer to the firewall. There is very little space between the radiator and engine, but I've heard it's harder to get that kind of thing engineered. Most of them come out of the US so not many options for the S15 since they don't get them (yet). I have heard the A31 Cefiro crossmember is a better option to help with space though.

    S15 Aero, is the best car to come out of Japan period. Looks, very well balanced, light weight and of coarse God's motor (SR20 black top). The car will never be topped. FD look good, but the engine is a grenade haha

    Used to work with a bloke who bought a black Aussie delivered S15 from new. He told me he was looking to get rid of it, trading it into a dealer and they were going to offer him something like 10k for it. I should have been more forceful and offered him 12k to take it off his hands.
    100% agree on your U.S comment. The moment a car they like is eligible for importation, watch the prices rise. We need to keep as many cars in Australia and not see them go stateside.

      Hey mate, how do you find the handling with the RB swap compared to the SR? I had an S15 a few years ago with a 300rwhp SR and I'm thinking to get one again and going with an RB.
      Have you found that the car is more prone to understeer or does the front end just generally feel noticeably heavier in tighter corners?

    Are you sure your doing 0-100 right? Seems the times you get are generally slower than what the cars should be doing. Eg a 400ish kw G6E turbo you reviewed a while ago was slower than what a stock G6E turbo does the 0-100 in🤨

    • @RossReviewsau
