This is the BEST Riding Mower review that I have EVER seen!!! You did an OUTSTANDING job on giving us the information that really matters BEFORE we spend our hard earned money on a unit. Thanks so much! I love your channel, but now I love it even more.
This...is exactly how a product review should be. Folks actually get to see the machine in use. The strong points....well, sorta strong points...were pointed out and the negatives were revealed as well. I wouldn't buy one of them...but a lot of folks probably will. To me, it's neither fish nor fowl. It's obviously not a commercial machine as pointed out, nor is it a tin can sold at Walmart. You did a fine job Taryl. Toro ought to give you a contract and a mower! The hat and bumper sticker ain't enough!
I bought one, and you're 100% correct. The deck belt is crap and burned out in one season. I bought an aftermarket 5/8" replacement that fits perfectly and is a huge improvement. Outside of that, it's been a solid mower on my acre lot.
You can possibly wear out the spindles using that bigger belt - which ain't no big deal because they are replaceable. But prematurely burning out the electronic clutch makes changing a belt a lot easier.
I've had a 42 in. toro z turn now for about 7 yrs ( time cutter ) and have had zero problems with the machine, so I gave it to my daughter and now I am waiting on delivery of this new 42 in My Ride mower. Purchase price $3500. Thanks Taryl for a great video.
I bought a Z turn Toro in 2004. It is still running. Gave to my nephew and he flogged it, did $300 work on it, and he gave it to a small church. I think it is good for a few more years. Like tractors, the suspension is in the seat on that one...I like that.
I got one last spring a 2019 SS4200, I really like it, I use the mulching function when I mow. The Smart Speed is great, how it works is when you push the bars all the way forward the max speed is determined by the Smart Speed setting. On mine the three speeds are Trim (slowest) Tow (middle) and Cut (fast) The middle speed is recommended when you're mulching, fast is for side discharge.
I have the older version of this mower. It features a cracked engine block, a massive oil leak (has a 2 foot diameter puddle in its parking spot), a fuel leak that drips on the muffler, a dead charging system, and a flat front tire that makes it bounce up and down when you mow... Somehow it's still running, and I cut 5 acres of field with it all the time. It's a trooper!
This sounds exactly like my mower and I have to cut 5 acres as well 😂😂😂 it literally just went out on me so I had to suck it up and buy the mower he’s reviewing
What is up with the dead charging system? My last Timecutter would only randomly charge the battery. About half the time it would start, about half the time I had to jump it. Did that for years 🤔
As usual Taryl you explain the task at hand to near perfection. That was a great video. I love Toro mowers. I have owned 3 over the 55 years I have been cutting my lawn. The only reason I bought new ones is for newer features. Mine have been tanks - all I did was run good gas in them, keep the oil clean, the air filters changed regularly and the blades new/sharpened. I also kept them under a shed. I know you are a man who gives an honest highly experienced opinion. Toro was smart to think of you to review this mower. Now on another note I hope you and the boys (young men now) had a great Christmas and new year. I am looking forward to more videos in 2020. (we are already 20 years into the new century how time RACES along) I along with thousands I believe are thoroughly entertained by y'alls videos. Thank you for taking the time to make them. Sincerely. LC
First I’ll mention I value a mechanic’s review above some salesman that never turned a wrench. It would be interesting to follow up on how long the 1/2” belt served you as well as the no-grease spindles. I liked engine accessibility as you pointed out and the though oil changes never are much of a problem the quick change feature was unique and well over due. Always nice to see rear mounted carbs. that don’t require needless time to remove. Good to see R.O.P. as an option because in our part of the country consumers leave them folded down as you couldn’t roll one if you tried. Great dinner Taryl, thanks
I own this exact mower, except mine has a Kawasaki motor. I bought it in July 2020. I put the mulching kit on, and I mow an acre and a half. I haven't had a single issue or problem, and the belt has held up just fine. I love the Myride system. It works great. Overall, it's been a great mower, and I'd definitely buy one again.
I have the 60" non my ride, zero turn and really like it. I've owned it for 4 years now and have a little over 100 hours on it. It's reliable and cuts great.
I was looking at TORO ZTR mowers a couple of years ago. Almost bought the "My Ride" 50"....but at $3200 plus tax....I decided on the SS5000 Timecutter. Same mower without the "My Ride" system. Paid $2750 plus tax for it. Going into the 3rd season with it. Only problems I've had was 1 deck belt last year, and a couple of flat tires from mesquite thorns. I put "Slime" in all 4 tires and it's been going since. Oil and filter change takes about 5 minutes with the drain setup on the engine. The oil filter is the same filter used on several Toyota cars so it's cheap and readily available. I use WIX filters on it, they cost about $7 at NAPA. Oh, the belt was available at Home Depot...cost...$21 and change. I can't argue with the quality...it's the best mower I've ever bought!
Thanks, Taryl for the review, I looked at this same mower at Tractor Supply here in Texas and sat on that ride system and wondered about its quality. Your review is great. I have a 2006 Toro 50 in Timesaver, looking to upgrade.
Hi Taryl, Great vid as always. I have been using a Dixon 17 38 (17.5 HP 38” cut “tractor type) It’s a residential mower but I have been using it for lawn maintenance. It’s recently passed 950 hours of use, yes it has the issues you have been pointing out (Krohler engine) it looks it’s age but it has been a good mower. Here in Australia people like their lawn cut low unlike in US I found the height settings a lot ( with only 6 ) options so I drilled and ground out extra height notches to give me 11 different settings. It looks a bit like your teeth😝 but it has helped me a lot. Hey, 900+hrs for residential mower, not bad.! “There’s ma dinner!!!” Ian.
I bought a Toro MX 5075 last year. I love it. Good power, great ride. I had the shop put on a mulch kit this fall. My dealer matched the Home Depot price and delivered it as well.
I'm wondering why you had the mulch kit installed? My last timecutter shred everything nicely and evenly sprinkled it onto the lawn for the new shorter grass to cannibalize. Never had any hay row effect and chewed the leaves nicely too as long as you blew them inward as you mowed. I bet your dealer loved matching the home depot price 😅
Wish they ran a serviceable transmission. I’m fine with no zerks, as long as they designed it with sealed bearings that are common and can be replaced with standard tools.
Nice review as always you do a great job ! The wife loves this mower as do I with the my ride, I call it the Rockin chair mower lol! btw those grease fittins are called zerks!(pretty close to jerks just need to come up with a better off name for em myself). Zerks were invented in Kenosha Wisconsin by a poor fella named Oscar U Zerk! Wikipedia has a good write-up about em. Keep up the good work Taryl, watching your channel always makes me laugh, sometimes the wife laughs too!.Whoooo-Hoooo
Just bought a Ferris 3300 with suspension on each wheel plus suspension seat. The deck adjusts to the bumps so the cut is flat. My kubota was trusty for 12 years on my 5 acres but I just had a fusion of two discs in my back earlier this year. It was time to treat myself to a better ride. The Ferris is amazing so far. Night and day difference.
I have the my ride 42” mower with mulch kit and it’s 2 years old now . I had one problem with front wheel grease fitting that was stripped out . I popped off the wheel , brought it in , and it was fixed under warranty . I previously had a 54”cub cadet mower that was too big for my property ,and it would get stuck in the culvert if you weren’t careful. It takes less time to cut the lawn with the Toro simply because it is more maneuverable.
My 54" is coming Wednesday with the Toro engine. I found it hard to beat the features for the money. The accessibility to maintenance areas is impressive. A mower designed for the user and not just the assembly line.
Well it looks like it's been 3 years since you posted this, so I was wondering do you still have the mower?? And if so what do you think?? Because a different lawnmower repair channel said those Toro engines were trash & I'm just wanting to know your experience with it?
@@scottyellis3442 The engine has been working fine. Carb could use an adjustment. I also just replaced the starter solenoid. It's a common issue and not just Toro. I got a great deal when I bought. Ordered it strait from the factory to their best approved dealer. Dealer set it up and delivered all free of charge. Box stores wanted $300-$400 more + delivery and no setup. If you can swing it, go with the my ride. Your back and butt will thank you.
@@scottyellis3442 I did see some comments saying the "TORO" brand engine was a cheap chinese knock off. Others said it was built in house and other said Kawasaki made them. I'm pretty sure they don't sell them on the new ones.
Love the added spring ride, driving on a yard with mole trails make the yards bumpy and bounces around with normal mower. Love the spring action saves on the back. Rich mowers and blowers outdone.
Another Great Video, Toro Has Come Out With Some Great Ideas There. Very Functional Ideas. I Like The My Ride System, Nice and Comfy 😉Just Like a Arm chair , Great Feature. However I Agree With You On not Having Grease Points On Certain Parts. Very Nice Looking Mower And The Engine Was STRONG. I Didn't Hear The Revs Change Very Much When You Lowered The Mower and Cutting through The Leaves. I Hate Getting Bounced Around On The Older Style Mowers, No Good If You Have a Bad Back Like Myself. Wish I Had One of These BEAUTIES . 👍👍👍👍👍 To TORO For Innovation
Great review, Cuz! Looks like Toro has stepped up their game and you know what that means, don't ya? All the other manufacturers will be coming out with something new to attract buyers. I love it when the manufacturers are at war with each other because the consumer is the winner. I'm looking forward to what 2020 has to offer in the way of improvements to outdoor power equipment. Happy New Year to all. JJD
@@johnsheffield1802 Usually there is some type of panel and the hour meter snaps into the panel. Unscrew the panel, unplug the hour meter, pop the hour meter out and install new meter in reverse order. Good luck!
Got mine a week ago and couldn’t be more impressed. Well, I could be… the knob on the MyRide lever came off on the first use and the key fell out on the second use. Lever knob was just shoddy servicing at dealer, but the key should NOT be able to fall out while riding. Other than that, super mower.
Just bought one of these. No my ride, it’s a 50” with Kawasaki engine. I gotta say I am impressed with the side discharge. I was cutting long wet thick grass and it didn’t clog. I’ve used commercial mowers that clog way easier. I think that notch in the top really helps.
Hey taryl I was wondering could u do something on how to stop a zero turn from creeping foward. When U start it up and with out being on the mower? And also could u also how to get the lap bars even with each other ty Johnny😁
I like the belt access covers. My John Deere would fill with leaves on every use. I had to take a leaf blower to it after use. I would spend a fair amount of time changing angles trying to get the debris out of it. A friend of mine melted his cover on a Craftsman. He let the material build up and didn’t clean it and a fire started due to belt friction.
Looks like a nice mower.... I do appreciate your integrity, and disclosure that this is a compensated review. Still pretty honest though.... If you want some cold hard truth, the average homeowner is never greasing it anyways, so they may as well skip it.... I also really like that the oil change was simple.... It was like, designed, so that someone could change the oil. that's a real pet peeve of mine, when it's super hard to do routine maintenance.... Now, full disclosure, my sister's husband's younger brother, works at Toro in Minnesota. Some of the stuff he has brought over, for them to play with, is really cool. Some of their "homeowner" stuff, feels like entry-level commercial to me... It's not a joke. It's pretty legit.... And you figure, these are demo units, that people are beating on at shows & stuff.... and they seem really nice. Anyways, nice job...
At work we have the 2015 Toro Timecutter SWX5050 zero turn with the steering wheel. Haven't had any engine problems and it has the same 24.5 hp unit as this one which after doing some research I discovered it's a chinese made Loncin engine. I too wish there were more greaseable parts and the manual steering is difficult but doable...most our problems have been with the deck bouncing off the hangers which we rigged to not happen again and most recently the bar that the deck hangs from somehow popped out of it's holding block on the left side allowing the left side to drop lower and make it rub the frame preventing raising the deck. We got it back in place again. My coworkers say if it catches on fire, don't put it out just run away! This version looks nice though.
Bought same mower this season love it.i wash and wax and blow of air filter and box after every use changed oil after 4th use because it's new its breaking in .wish it had grease fittings
Love the videos. I'm a fan. For the mower: that's a straight up chinesium predator engine. Just look at a parts diagram. A little more cash will buy a mower with a Kawasaki or kohler etc. Just my .02.
@@solojohnson8623rubbish, watch a few of taryls other videos and you will soon see which motors have plastic parts, hint, it starts with B&S Loncin make engines for BMW motorcycles
Nice machine and a well balanced review. I think they should have made the my ride platform either a darker gray or black. I’m sure it’s pricey but you get what you pay for. Wishing a Happy/Healthy New Year to you and your crew.
Thanks for being upfront. Most of the ungreasable pulleys have double sealed "2RS" type bearings, which are sealed at the factory, not needing grease. This is better for keeping water and dust out.
I absolutely love my Toro.Easy ride 50 inch cut mower. This is the start of my second year. I DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH MY MOWER ON MY 1ST YEAR WHAT SO EVER . the 1st cuts of 2nd year/ The mower Started up with no Problem. LUV IT, LUV IT, LUV IT!!!! MY KNEES ARE HURTING AND THIS IS AS FUN AS RIDING THE BUMPER CARS AT THE AMUSEMENT PARK. I SPRAY PAINTED THE BLACK PART ON THE SEAT -WHITE / AND ON MY TRAILER/ BECAUSE BLACK IS TO HOT IN 100* HEAT. I MADE A BIGGER TOW BRACKET ON BACK,AND ON MY TRAILER/ IN LESS THAN 30 SECONDS MY MOWER IS SECURED TO MY TRAILER/ I ALSO MADE A BRACKET ON MY TRAILER THAT IS 2' WIDE with 15 HOLES EVENLY STAGGERED N SPACED/ DROP N MY PIN N I'M GONE/ ALSO HAVE 2 X 6 IN FRONT N BACK OF THE BACK WHEELS ( KIND OF IN THE GROOVE) ALSO , ONCE YOU GET OFF OF THE MOWER (turn it off) THEN TURN KEY ON N MOVE ONE CONTROL ARM UP, THEN YOU CAN wiggle/fine tune the position of the mower) THEN PUT CONTROL ARM BACK N TURN KEY OFF. I SUGGEST THAT YOU START PRACTICING YOUR TURNS IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR YARD/ NOT LIKE I DID. MADE MY 1ST TURN ON THE CURB N DROVE 1/2 OFF CURB WITH BLADES STILL ENGAGED. Shut it off immediately/ LESSON LEARNED. BE CAREFUL ON HILLS. ONCE IT STARTS GOING FOR THE DITCH/ IT'S GONE/ ALMOST WENT OVER THE HANDLE BARS/ control arms,HAD TO PULL IT OUT WITH 2nd PERSON AND MY 4 X 4 with TOW STRAP. BUT I LUV, LUV, LUV, MY 50" EASY RIDE TIME CUTTER. I ATTACHED A BUNGEE CORD with HOOK ON RIGHT SIDE FOR THE DISCHARGE CHUTE/ MADE SMALL HOLE FOR THE HOOK n PAINTED THE HOLE with WHITE PAINT FOR QUICKLY LOCATING
Had a 42 timecutter that turned out to be an awesome machine I gave $400 for it, was used commercially and had a hard starting "problem" , their "mechanic" replaced the starter and solenoid and battery lol I adjusted the valves in about 15 minutes and changed the oil and blades and voila, fixed! Lol Never had a single issue with it and I learned to buy the right size mower, it was easy to mow ditches with but my parents hustler commercial 54 was too big to do some ditches
That deck cut-out for the bagger looks like it turned the mower deck into a serious ankle chopper. Most folks I know ditch that chute as soon as they get the mower so it fits on trailers and through the garage door better.
Good job, you sure made me want one, Wonder how low a payment a 70 year old kid could get? You know just starting out, Lack of grease fitting, they probably got tired of dudes like me putting in 20 plus pumps of grease till grease was all over the belts and front wheels then washing the deck with a power washer and blowing water into the broken or busted grease seals, Ruined bearings, Enjoy your channel, I notice you did not let the boy or skipper drive it, o yea, toro did not want it in the pond!
I have a roughly 2008 34" timecutter with the grenade like kohler courage. That $110 parking brake safety thing that is built to fail (holds water and electricaly rots away if it ever gets wet) is unfortunately bypassed but everything else is good.
decent mower overall dont know why they would go to the trouble of a fabricated deck and then put such an anemic belt and spindles on it though , great review Taryl
I like somebody thinkin' about using the air flow from the blades in that manner. It appears to ne also that with deep St Augustine (swap grass I call it because it thrives on lots of rain and sun) grass we have on the Texas Gulf Coast build up at the discharge would lift the plastic rather than clog it up.
With this MyRide system, whick looks great for ride comfort, how hard it it to service and replace the blade belt, since to can't access it from the top like normal on this machine. No one seems to address that point.
It has a plastic cover over both sides and you just pop it off without any tools and reposition it and pops back in. He shows the video on the belt access at 4:19. Hope this helps.
Hey Folks ... had a quick question. I have about 3 1/2 acres to mow ... residential, so once a week. Have some bumps, some hills, but pretty typical. I’ve narrowed my search down to either a 50” Toro without MyRIDE and a 50” Toro with MyRIDE. The with option is about $600 more. To the question - does anyone have any experience with MyRIDE and do you feel it is worth the extra $$$? Wish I could test drive the thing but I don’t see that as an option. Thanks!
Did they upgrade the rear wheel shafts (transmission output shafts) from 3/4" to 1" ? On the older models, they are known for shaft breakage behind the rims.
I just ordered a 54 needed something with a smoother ride if i end up having to replace some of these parts that lack grease fittings il throw em in the drill press and tap and throw a fitting in or who knows mayb i need something to do over winter lol
Taryl, I liked the review. It is nice to see the equipment up close and also a review made by someone who services equipment. It was good to hear something on Toro's new engine. I was curious as to whether the new Toro engine will be comparable to the old Suzuki. Also your video shows people why it may be wise to spend a little more on something like a Toro when it comes to buying lawn equipment.
There is a fine video on the details and features of the Toro V-twin engine. Engineered from the start to be a "lawnmower duty" engine. As good or better features than the "Krawlers" or Kawasaki's. It appears to be good hardware and craftsmanship too.
The only problem I had with my toro timecutter was th3 battery died. I found the battery bolts were installed backwards and not making good contact with the leads and not charging the battery. Thank God taryl told us to never jump start a mower with a electronic blade clutch
the no grease fittings on the blade spindles isn't a deal breaker, because most manufactures use sealed bearings so the grease docent get in them anyway. I would like to see grease fittings on the wheel spindles though.
Question. Can you upgrade the 1/2" belt/pullies to the 5/8" belt/pullies ? Can you integrate grease nipples into the spindles and front castor tubes ?? The spindles should be greasable no ? If not then they are just a ticking time bomb. You'd have to have a repair kit ready to go or if you're not mechanically minded have the complete spindle. How many Hrs typically can you expect the spindles to last before the machine shits them out ? It would be nice if Toro bolstered these residential decks with some commercial features not just the deck.
the airless "Tweel" tire/wheel design would be a nice option? also, as the zero turn mowers get bigger and much more costly, might as well have a factory cab option for all-day mowing? :) :/
Last year I bought a new 22 inch TORO with the push assist feature. It was to make my life easier maintaining 1 acre home. I liked the fold and store feature a lot. The finish is very good. Not so fond of the personal pace locking up so to move it you have to start the motor or flat spot the tires dragging it. The blade sits low in the deck and sprays debries ( small rocks /grit ) accross the yard. The air filter is placed so it is exposed to all the grit and clogges up quickly. Toro chose not to opt for the fifteen cent foam outer filter so the paper filter was cloggrd and a poor fit so it sucked grit into the NEW MOTOR. The spark plug loosened in the first hour. Just an awfull mower experience. So now you have a Toro mower that seems kinda nice with the fabbed deck and suspended seat. Wanna trade in ?
Happy NewYear. I agree on your likes and dislikes. It’s nice having a better deck but skimping on non greasable spindles and smaller belt. I’ve worked on residential models being used commercially. I guess that’s why their cheaper. Excellent video
Reference grease fittings. The ball bearings and races they use are of the "sealed" variety. Therefore if there were grease fittings, none would really get to the actual bearings friction points themselves. At best the grease would just be pumped into the housing between the upper and lower bearing. Do you see any benefit to that? Good job Taryl!
All you have to do is remove the plastic seal on the inside of the bearing and it will let the grease in there. Drill and tap for a grease zerk perhaps
@@daveshoe9776 But why do that if the current Design does not have any issues or failures? That is like buying a new car and replacing the engine because you think it might go bad. I would not want a mechanic drilling into my bearing housings and messing it up without evidence of failures, we can't act on whims.
Great job showing and telling fixing them mowers man. Toro maybe a good deal for home or other lawns for money right right and see if it will pay for it’s self. Thanks again for showing telling see ya next time see ya bye.
After watching this video I looked up where I could buy one from. I found them at my local Home Depot right down the street for me less than a mile. I found the residential line for 2300 dollars then right below it they have the same size mower but this one says commercial and it's $2,600. I'm not sure what the difference is and if it's worth spending a additional $300 for a commercial version. I was hoping to get your opinion on this and to see if you know what the difference is between them. Another great informative video look forward to watching the next one.
Toro SS4235 will not crank with the brake module installed. I can jump the green and black wires and bypass it. A new brake module did not resolve the issue. The owner installed a new module and key switch. Any suggestions? I have found that these systems are quite troublesome.

Great vid as always.
“There’s ma dinner!!!”
Ian.
I bought a Toro MX 5075 last year. I love it. Good power, great ride. I had the shop put on a mulch kit this fall. My dealer matched the Home Depot price and delivered it as well.
Big box comes 1st with Toro. corporate dealers get the scraps. I bet the local dealers really dig price matching the big boys
Happy New Year Taryl probably one of the best not commercial mowers out there Happy New Year to your son and slippers for me take care buddy
Glad to hear you’re comments on their engine love my toro very good mower for the money but haven’t heard anything about their engine thanks
JJD
Jaryl Jack Derriere hot to install hour meter on toro
@@johnsheffield1802 Usually there is some type of panel and the hour meter snaps into the panel. Unscrew the panel, unplug the hour meter, pop the hour meter out and install new meter in reverse order. Good luck!
Toro has had awesome zero turns for many years!!!
Great review. My husband always has loved Toro and we found this one and we’re debating on getting it but after this review I think it’s a ✅.
That is a sweet home mower, always liked Toro and this one looks like a winner. It looks very user friendly. Nice Review Taryl.
Great review. In Australia, anybody who is serious about cutting grass be it turf farms, sports fields or golf courses use Toro. Cheers
That Toro brand engine looks pretty nice. I like the quick oil change idea.
What a treat a Taryl video on New Years Day! Getting my dinner early!
-even if it had grease fittings, most of them wouldn't get grease
I have the same exact model.
BEAST OF A MACHINE!
If I had a big lawn I would look at buying one , I do like Toro product my snowblower is 15 years old and never let me down
If I was looking for a mower, this unit looks great!
That is a nice zero turn mower. Love the channel Taryl. Great Video.
Thanks Taryl for sharing your demo ...
Great video! You went over everything! I agree with your conclusions...would you install grease zerks, if you owned one?
Non serviceable hydro units eh? Guess what I do every season? I pull the trans and change the fluid. Overkill? Maybe but they will NEVER fail!
Given the grease fitting on the front tires, do you think there is a bearing in there or just a bushing? I'm guessing bushings.
Yup, they are bushings and a pain in the ass to grease with the wheel on
that soft cushy rides nice...looks like a well made mower..
Taryl, Awesome job I learned a ton from your review. Thanks for putting a fun spin on it. You are the man....
Loved the bubba teeth and rebel war cries. Good thing democrats don't mow their own lawns, or this would have been canceled years ago 😂
Love the videos. I'm a fan. For the mower: that's a straight up chinesium predator engine. Just look at a parts diagram. A little more cash will buy a mower with a Kawasaki or kohler etc. Just my .02.
I’d much rather have a mower with a brand name engine. Sad to see so many of them are using Chinese engines.
Yeah it’s a Loncin engine they are crap and have plastic internal parts
I just order the 42" 23hp Kawasaki mower. Yime to retire My Super Recycler push
@@solojohnson8623rubbish, watch a few of taryls other videos and you will soon see which motors have plastic parts, hint, it starts with B&S
Loncin make engines for BMW motorcycles
Happy New year to the Taryl clan. Thank you for letting us know that Toro sponsored the video.
I've seen these come up at auction fairly inexpensive compared to new. I've never owned or worked on one. Great review!
The models that do come with grease fittings the manufactures leave the bearings sealed anyway making years if greasing pointless
Looks like a nice machine. Thanks for the review,Taryl. Happy new year. Tell Jr and slippers too.,
I absolutely love my Toro.Easy ride 50 inch cut mower.
Can you do a review on the 2020 toro titan residential? Just curious if they have serviceable hydros or sealed
Had a 42 timecutter that turned out to be an awesome machine
I gave $400 for it, was used commercially and had a hard starting "problem" , their "mechanic" replaced the starter and solenoid and battery lol
I adjusted the valves in about 15 minutes and changed the oil and blades and voila, fixed! Lol
Never had a single issue with it and I learned to buy the right size mower, it was easy to mow ditches with but my parents hustler commercial 54 was too big to do some ditches
That deck cut-out for the bagger looks like it turned the mower deck into a serious ankle chopper. Most folks I know ditch that chute as soon as they get the mower so it fits on trailers and through the garage door better.
I have a toro 522xi with a 60 inch deck & 22 horsepower kohler command. One of the best mowers I've ever had.
Oh yea I love toro I got a toro grandstand and a 21” toro self perpelled and I love them !!
Good job, you sure made me want one,
Wonder how low a payment a 70 year old kid could get? You know just starting out,
Lack of grease fitting, they probably got tired of dudes like me putting in 20 plus pumps of grease till grease was all over the belts and front wheels then washing the deck with a power washer and blowing water into the broken or busted grease seals,
Ruined bearings,
Enjoy your channel,
I notice you did not let the boy or skipper drive it, o yea, toro did not want it in the pond!
70? Good god your a baby!! Lol..
Happy New year Dr taryl!! Can't wait to see you back in 2020!! Hope your well!! Glad to see your still helping people!! Thank you sir!!
I have a roughly 2008 34" timecutter with the grenade like kohler courage. That $110 parking brake safety thing that is built to fail (holds water and electricaly rots away if it ever gets wet) is unfortunately bypassed but everything else is good.
Taryl do you have a chart explaining the Toro zero turn serial numbers?
I have a Ferris with the independent suspension. I wonder how the My Ride system compares?
Does the the rear wheels (rear axle) now have bearings. Toro used to just have bushing for the rear wheels/axle.?
decent mower overall dont know why they would go to the trouble of a fabricated deck and then put such an anemic belt and spindles on it though , great review Taryl
Great review and constructive criticism, and good to know about the tough motor. Would like to see more of this👍
I like somebody thinkin' about using the air flow from the blades in that manner.
Really ?
I like the my ride suspension in my opinion probably the best thing about the whole mower
With air conditioning too?
And generally the mowers that use those pressure washing decks use sealed bearings. Surprised that was not already widely
known.
Well, by gawd , its time fer Taryl to step aside . . . .
Greasing the front end should be a must have, especially in aluminium. And changing the oil in the hydro units is important.
What about a chute blocker for this mower, what brand did best for this? I have s 75777 model
Great job showing and telling fixing them mowers man. Toro maybe a good deal for home or other lawns for money right right and see if it will pay for it’s self. Thanks again for showing telling see ya next time see ya bye.
Do these have a fuel shutoff valve and provisions to allow draining the carb for storage?
Thank you so much Taryl !!! Great review Taryl !!!
I'm interested too.
No comment on the mower, but hope that your channel does not become a infomercial. Have always loved your work.
Do you have a video to adjust the tracking on the 2020 toro zero turn? Mine goes to the left as soon as I disengage the parking brake
I think the spindles have sealed ball bearings. Looks very similar to the zero turn cub cadet.
Thanks for your continued info!
I have a 2019 52"r.
Been a good one for me.
Between that one and the Cub Cadet ZT2 what do you think?
Toro SS4235 will not crank with the brake module installed. I can jump the green and black wires and bypass it. A new brake module did not resolve the issue. The owner installed a new module and key switch. Any suggestions? I have found that these systems are quite troublesome.
